That thing is a beast! It really gets the job done. I think the DR company is great. When I had a farm, I bought a DR trimmer mower, which is basically a heavy duty string trimmer on wheels, and it was amazing for clearing brush and fencelines, but sometimes I wished for a brush mower like this for the heavier stuff. Thanks, DR! Jason is the right person to receive this mower. 👍
Your videos make me smile everytime. I love your families tenacity and can do attitude!! Love that we all get to watch as your homestead gets better and better!
So glad DR Power Equipment sent you a brush mower! That should really help with you underbrush up to an couple inches in diameter. Yup, it grows back fast! I like the name "Brutus"! It sounds wonderful! It's kind of like a very mini forest mulcher. Thanks for this video Contreras family!
So glad DR power sent you this bush more it looks like it really help In the name Brutus I love it I can see pigs included paddocks keeping them cleared maybe some goats in the future keeping it cleared And those little structures that I spotted hope you plan to rehab those sometime in the future they will make great Bunkhouses for people attending your classes 🤔🤗
That is great you received this brush mower from DR Power equipment. You really did need it and it did a fantastic job on your fence line and pathways. That stuff really does grow back fast. Having this brush cutter is going to allow you to keep it clear without if getting away from you. Thanks for sharing how it works. Y'all have a Blessed day.
I am 60 years old and live in a apartment. I love watching machinery. This tool seems fantastic for your needs. I remember watching you when you had the forestry mulched machine (forgot the actually name) and thought it was incredible. This looks great for your pigs!
Oh DR thank you for seeing a need and highly worthy clients Jason and Lorraine. What an amazing machine! It really clears the area brilliantly. Love the way you can easily lay trails for temporary fencing so your animal can be comfortable and make use if the green vegetation during the summer. There is nothing better than quality and reliability. DR and Sow The Land have both.
If only they would make a tiller attachment, you would have made , Jason. So proud for you. Your "smile" in every video shows what a happy & proud homesteader/farmer you are, sir. Keep up the great work.
Congratulations on receiving Brutus!!!! DR is a great company to work with. May I suggest wearing eye protection. Just in case something flies at you, or when Brutus drives into a bush a branch doesn't poke an eye. Looks good! I hate clearing fence line. A farmer friend of ours down the road cut his fence line once, then sprayed his fence line with a chemical killer. His fence line is now always cleared. We don't use chemicals at our place so everything is cleared by machine or by hand here.
So good they sent this machine to yall. Now you have it you can keep things mowed. The first time is the hardest, but the more you do it the easier it will get.
Jason, it was a blessing to have such a beast of a tool to help keep the lines cleared. It is much better than doing it all by hand. Work is involved but the payoff is worth it. Keep up the good work Jason.
Their equipment is amazing. I had one years ago. A true workhorse. I wished mine had adjustable height handles back then. It's so amazing that I didn't want to stop.
In my opinion, as one who’s had land like yours to keep up, you need a mini excavator with a mower attachment. That combined with a zero turn mower and a weed whacker, you can keep that place looking like the Biltmore Estate and still have time for other projects.😃👍🏻
I just bought the same model this morning. I've been wanting one for a while now and I finally pulled the trigger. I am beyond impressed at this machine and how it handles all the brush and saplings on my property. I've already run a tank of fuel through it and cleared more land in a couple of hours that would've taken me 3 days with my brush saw. I like it.
I reckon you should design a little single axle trailer that you can hitch on the back and stand on or have a high rise seat on and save your legs. Walking is great exercise but having the option to sit or stand and be towed by it would be great. Beast of a machine, love it.
JASON could build this part Paton it and sell to this company. What an Honor. Jason and his father in law are an EXCELLENT EXAMPLE of GREAT GUYS. Very honest FAMILY.
True stewards of your land! I have so much respect for all the work you do to maintain an orderly beautiful enriched homestead. Keep up the good work Jason, Lorraine, Penelope, and extended family.
I've had the DR Power Pro XL 30 for about 3 or 4 years. When I bought a tractor and rotary cutter I thought I wouldn't need my DR power any more but I was wrong. Still use it a lot. One warning, never let your kids or animals in front of the machine when cutting brush. It will shoot chunks of wood out the front in like a rocket. They will travel several yards. Doesn't happen all the time but does happen.
Hi Jason, I bought this exact model after watching this video. It has done an awesome job around my property in clearing under brush and overgrown areas! Thanks for sharing. I absolutely love watching you guys grow your homestead. Hoping to one day share my experiences as well. Have an awesome day.
I like how you dont hold back and go for the rough stuff, some people say rough on machine but when using it like you did it is easy it lets that beast eat good job.
Jason, my wife and I have watched your show since the beginning. Amazed to see how that land is coming along. Good job brother. David and Lillian in Oklahoma.
Wow great job clearing land, Bet your tired at the end of the night, good its got front wheel drive , I m sure you will get a lot of work out of it , Thanks to the Co for offering it to you
Thank you for showing just how tough this is. I have a DR wheeled string trimmer and I love it. I only have 3 acres but it is full of cactus and some kind of either locust or acacia The thorns are murder on all of them. I have been thinking of one of these for the back 2 acres and will do some more research.
Here in my neck of the woods we call that piece of equipment a Billy Goat Mower. We used one on our homestead 16 years ago just so we could get into our native forest and start working. For those that cannot afford to purchase one they can be rented from equipment rental stores. So can a tractor, etc...
Owned 1 since 2000 replaced bearings in spindle (yes I cut some 2.5" blackjack with it) and it is rated for 1". At 67 years old I call it my 15Hp walker.
Briggs couldn’t have sent this to a better family. If Jason approves…:it’s gotta be good. Briggs please send Sow The Land more attachments so we can see how they work.
I bought one of the 20 HP models and it's a beast. It will do exactly (actually more than) what the manufacture states. Get the heavy-duty blade option. I ran the heck out of it for three years and never had a moment of trouble with it. Nice to have an American made product that performs as advertised.
That is an incredible machine! What a blessing you have it to tame those bushes and small trees. You should get the wood chipper attachment when you can. And this DR Field and Brush mower sure looks easy to use. So I guess a tractor is next Jason.🤞😉
Wow I didn’t even realize a tool like the existed. Thanks for showing us. Definitely seeing if that would work for use especially with other attachments! Thanks Jason!
That is awesome!! I saw your forestry mulcher video and i hired a guy to come out for a day. Cleared all my frncelines on my 5 acres!! Best thing i ever did!! Now i need permanent perimeter fencing. But for now ill get a couple more premier one nets
You should inquire if they have a sulky. A stand on platform with wheels. Back in the 80's & 90's many walk behind mowers had that feature. It's a time saver. Exercise is great but you would maximize your coverage in less time.
We hired a forestry mulcher because of your channel now this looks like the next thing to get. We’re working on putting up our perimeter fence as well.
They make very good equipment. I'm very happy for you for your association with them. The accessorie that they still need to make for that power unit is a flail mower. Much better for tall brush and small trees. It will much/chip the entire tree and will feed that tall brush your mower unit kept going under. So while you have thier ear mention to them about this. Homesteaders would go absolutely bonkers with a personal machine like that. FYI, the forestry machine used a flail power head. Big difference. Great video, have a great day.
Looks like a competitor to the BCS! Nice I wasn’t sure how well they worked. Thanks for this video, this might be our solution until we can afford a tractor like your neighbour
Boy, would I love one of these! I have a pasture FULL of weeds that are 5' high - my horse . . . well, if you look, you might spot the top of her back! And then there are seedlings working to create a small grove of weed trees in one section - our option would likely be to have someone with a backhoe come in to clear them out!
Welcome Brutus! Now lets see what you can do. That machine is a beast but I foresee some very sore leg and arm muscles in your future Jason. It is amazing what you guys have done in such a short time.
Hi Jason and family 👋 just us 2saying hi 👋 what a great tool for a great channel we hope you get more tools for your homestead 👍den and sue from across the pond uk 👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🚌🚌🚌
I love my DR brush mower they are essential if you have woody property. I got a used one on Craigs list, when that died I went and bought a band new one! A good thing too is the different implements you can switch out. Right now I only have it with the brush mower deck and the snow thrower, but I want to get the wood chipper too.
I used a rental machine like this a couple of times, you could put different attachments on it, was well smart. You could mow like this then stick on a tilling attachment and tear the soil up.
You need a tri-clone weed eater head. They have a new all metal monster head and it’s a beast. Does great work fast! Best investment I’ve made and I’m still clearing by hand. Invest little at a time like you said.
Nature abhors a vacuum, the struggle is real I feel your pain . Brutus got your six though! Or rather your twelve o'clock In actuality 😅 keep up the good work I love your channel
Here come the boys❗👍🤟🌻 You two are AMAZING FAMILY. Another thing to ad to your resume. L. O. L I Love WATCHING your family. EVERYDAY FROM S E MICHIGAN 🀄🥀
I've had the string trimmer from DR & it worked super until my former tenant used it. He destroyed everything in power equipment. 3 push mowers, neighbors weed eater. If I get a bigger property then I would buy another.
@@SowtheLand it makes me so happy to see how far you all have come from the beginning of your homesteading journey! Just great that a company reached out offering you a tool to demo that really adds to getting your work done…‼️ You work so hard as it is.
This is by far my favorite homesteading channel. Keep up the great work :)

I cleared almost 3 acres with my Dr. It is a beast
heck yeah
how long did that take
That is great you received this brush mower from DR Power equipment. You really did need it and it did a fantastic job on your fence line and pathways. That stuff really does grow back fast. This machine is a BEAST for sure. It's definitely a time saver. I certainly love watching all your videos.
It really is!
It looks like it would work really well in areas where a tractor with a 3 pt brush hog cant get to,like wet area where a tractor might be too heavy.
Oh DR thank you for seeing a need and highly worthy clients Jason and Lorraine. What an amazing machine! It really clears the area brilliantly.
Love the way you can easily lay trails for temporary fencing so your animal can be comfortable and make use if the green vegetation during the summer.

That Brush mower is a beast!! It was very satisfying to watch it eat up all that brush and saplings!! Such a cool machine!!
Sooo thankful you have the family and friends around to assist in this new endeavour!!!
This maching is a beast. With your humidity, sunshine, hot temperatures and rainy season the brush and bramble grow so fast. Take care.
Brutus is a great addition to your tools and he is a real hard working machine. Cleared land looks great. 💞
So good they sent this machine to yall. Now you have it you can keep things mowed. The first time is the hardest, but the more you do it the easier it will get.
zeke!!!
That is so excellent seeing you with a new machine that is helping you ‘sow your land’!!! Just marvelous of DR Power Equipment!!!
Jason, it was a blessing to have such a beast of a tool to help keep the lines cleared. It is much better than doing it all by hand. Work is involved but the payoff is worth it. Keep up the good work Jason.
I love that your mother & father-in-law are close to you & Lorine to be part of your dream.
Their equipment is amazing. I had one years ago. A true workhorse. I wished mine had adjustable height handles back then. It's so amazing that I didn't want to stop.
I love seeing Randy working with you so often.
Nice work! You're right, you have to keep mowing or using animals to keep it all clear. The key is not to let it go for too long;)
Company's should be knocking down your door to have you try stuff out. You do such a great job on your videos and inspire so many people.
In my opinion, as one who’s had land like yours to keep up, you need a mini excavator with a mower attachment. That combined with a zero turn mower and a weed whacker, you can keep that place looking like the Biltmore Estate and still have time for other projects.😃👍🏻
in due time
I dont think he needs a excavator, but a tractor,a bush hog, and a tiller, otherwise will need several lifetimes with these little gadgets,
As I always comment, love your videos but especially love your music choices that make it top notch!
Glad you like them!

Everyday do something! Words to live by thank you Jason
DR Power equipment I can't think of a better homesteaders than Sow the Land to demonstrate your product. We have DR products and we love them.
Love Jason’s innovative approach. Always comes up with interesting solutions.

Have fun!

That thing is a beast. A must have on farm of your size.
That would drag me all over!!! Brutus is amazing
Great machine.going to post this on my gardening channels. We have a lot of farms around our town. Love your channel.

We know you ate loving a machine that spreads the jungle. And the name Brutus is perfect
Makes me laugh so much how you love new toys 😂😂😂
What a great tool added to your clearing arsenal!!
I love your Kei truck!!!!!
Jason, be careful! That thing is bigger than you are. What a great machine!
Step by step.....each year will bring new and amazing strides....best wishes
I love Brutus!! What an awesome piece of equipment. Good for you!
Very impressed. That looks like it can do lots of work! Great advertisement for company!
Welcome Brutus! Now lets see what you can do. That machine is a beast but I foresee some very sore leg and arm muscles in your future Jason. It is amazing what you guys have done in such a short time.
farm fit
Got a dr this past winter. Shes a BEAST!
Your doing a great job with the farm. It all takes time
Once in a while you come across a tool, a piece of equipment that nails it. This is that tool.
That things a beast! Love it! I like how it has all those attachments too. Now if John deer would step it up with a tractor...
Hi Jason and family 👋 just us 2saying hi 👋 what a great tool for a great channel we hope you get more tools for your homestead 👍den and sue from across the pond uk 👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🚌🚌🚌
Good job , every one needs a Randy .
That was so satisfying to watch, gobbling everything up like Pacman
Every little bit helps. Thank you brutus

This is very timely as I've been researching ways to clear 19ac of overgrown land!!
I used a rental machine like this a couple of times, you could put different attachments on it, was well smart. You could mow like this then stick on a tilling attachment and tear the soil up.
Now you're in business, Jason! 👍🏾🤩🐶
Im in mid Michigan. We have about 10 acres of woodlands. Our machine is called "Brush Daddy". Its a must have in the thick "rain forest" out back.
This is an excellent gift for you guys!! Powerful!!!
You need a tri-clone weed eater head. They have a new all metal monster head and it’s a beast. Does great work fast! Best investment I’ve made and I’m still clearing by hand. Invest little at a time like you said.
I have one of these we use for mowing pond banks with. Amazing!
Nature abhors a vacuum, the struggle is real I feel your pain . Brutus got your six though! Or rather your twelve o'clock In actuality 😅 keep up the good work I love your channel
Wow! That mower is a beast!!
i think brutes should become a permanent resident as it did a great job and with all the attachments you could get it makes it more beneficial
Awesome! It looks like it just ate up the brush!
That's a really good video for a great mower.
Thank you for the video. It gave me confidence in the product and I just ordered a PRO XL30 using your link.
Here come the boys❗👍🤟🌻 You two are AMAZING FAMILY. Another thing to ad to your resume. L. O. L
