If I could only take the catalog of only one artist to a desert island, it would absolutely be Van Morrison.

They have reacted to “Tupelo Honey”, “Moondance”, and “Wild Night”. But I agree with all of your choices. I’d even love to hear them react to “Flamingo Fly”. And pretty much anything on ASTRAL WEEKS, and the MOONDANCE albums (aside from those they have already done).
Moondance is awesome. Crazy Love is my favorite and in my top 10 of all songs.

"Someone like you" is a must listen. You guys would appreciate that to one another. "Have I told you lately" is one that should make you two either share a chair or get up and dance too. If you're in love, these two are a must.
I love this one from Van Morrison too: "I'll Be Your Lover, Too" from the album (His Band and the Street Choir).
The first time I heard this song was in the movie nine months with Julianne Moore and Hugh Grant. I love that movie I fell in love with the song too.
Same! I couldn’t find it anywhere back then so I bought the vhs of the movie and would play the beginning and end, when they played this song!
Whenever I need to soothe my soul, I listen to this whole album. It's just heart set to music. Another gorgeous song in a similar vein is "Queen of the Slipstream"... from his masterpiece album "Poetic Champions Compose".... Van is indeed a poetic champion.

I played this for my brothers service…such a beautiful song.
Brilliant writer/singer. You can hear traditional Irish music in the background of this. Always a pleasure to listen to. It's about grasping the moment and enjoying living in the now rather than being worried about the past or future. If you are worrying about those then you are not taking full advantage of the now.
Whenever my hubby and I were in a fight and one of us wanted the bad feelings stop or the silent treatment end we’d put on some van Morrison. Our entire love story was scored by Morrison ❤

An absolutely beautiful song by Van Morrison is Someone Like You. Very romantic. Please give it a listen! Actually, the album it comes from (Poets Champion Compose) is full of gems all the way through. Including 2 really nice instrumentals with Van playing sax.

Jay & A, I don't know if you remember from the comments earlier that Van Morrison was also in the band Them. You've already heard their song "Gloria" in the movie The Outsiders. Their covers "Baby Please Don't Go" and "Here Comes The Night" are worth a listen!

Hi, you two! It's Andrew Erroch fae Paisley in Scotland here. I love Van Morrison's songs, voice, and music. I guess that's why he's called Van the Man. From what I've heard though, he's not the nicest of people and his concerts are a bit disappointing, particularly most recently, as he is only on stage for under an hour... You should definitely check out his earlier stuff, with the band Them, followed by his song entitled 'Jackie Wilson Said'. Æx 🙏
Your man is getting on in years. Past Concerts that he did in Australia were in no way disappointing. He, apparently, is quite shy . I feel lucky and honoured to have seen him.

A few Van Morrison songs that are rarely mentioned by anyone are those on Back On Top album - namely Golden Autumn Day, Philosopher's Stone, When The Leaves Come Falling Down, etc.

Amber and Jay, I am so glad you played "These Are The Days"; my wife and I chose this song for the first dance at our wedding. You were displaying the album cover; "Avalon Sunset" is truly a classic. Please give some thought to playing other songs off that album: "Orangefield" and "When Will I Ever Learn To Live in God".

Van Morrison's Christian faith can be heard in many of the songs on this album including this one;

He's not really religious. He's all over the place on religion. He described his dad as an atheist and his mom as a freethinker. He dabbled in scientology for a time then gave it up. Later a youtube clip showed Van on the Don Imus show confirming he was an atheist. Now (around 2017) he follows his Reverend buddy's religion. Mainstream Christianity calls Michael Beckwith a heretic for his Universalistic teachings. In his own admission the much of his music was written when he was an atheist or scientologist or wandering spiritually.
so many quotes have been ascribed to Van Morrison about his personal view of Christianity and spirituality that it's probably wise to just let the words of the songs speak for themselves!!

I don't think I've ever heard this song. It's not my kind of music but I do like it. Very nice! One pleasantly surprised.

This is one where he's singing with Natalie Cole, Nat King Cole's daughter. If you really want to hear Van Morrison check out his live 1974 album "It's too late to stop now". This album or LP will make you understand that Van Morrison is music, he doesn't make music he is music music music music flows through him. No one has the "soul" of Van Morrison!
You might want to try something from Van Morrison and The Chieftans’ album, Irish Heartbeat (1988) - the title track for instance or She Moved Through The Fair, where Van is backed by ‘The’ traditional Irish band.

We had our endless summer days. Now it's the start of the winter days as it were. But! Van's sentiments still apply to this stage of life. Loved this poet/musician's work for decades. "St. Dominick's Preview" is worth checking out. We feel a special connection to Van since he lived around here at one point and had a child in our city hospital. Did you do "Caravan" yet? Thanks. The 2 highlights in male singers over the last 50 years (for me) are Van Morrison & John Martyn. The 2 top female singers are Joni Mitchell & Joan Armatrading, who I do not think you have covered. Try her "Show some emotion" there is a great live version, where you can see her power & energy.
