- We added a new puppy to the family recently! Our third dog Kibo is a Berger Blanc Suisse (White Swiss Shepherd). It's been a little crazy here with a shepherd baby added to the pack, but I wanted to finally introduce him to everyone. We can't wait to share more of his adventures with you all!

I also have 2 white Swiss shepherds (Zeus & Odin) and I just have to say that they are such an amazing breed. For everyone watching, WSS are sensitive, kind and very talkative. They will love you, protect you and overall just adore you for as long as they are with us. Also don’t worry when they’re young they will drive you crazy with their temperament but it will get better around the age of 10-12 months. Also in term of socialization, they’re probably the most easiest breed to socialize with others because WSS love to meet and play with all kinds of dogs (big, small etc)
Furthermore as you said they are working dogs so I can only speak from my experience but my two absolutely love to train with me at least 20min (intense training) and when we’re on walks always have them do some sort of trick etc.
btw pls try to stay away from daily agility courses or something like that
They may enjoy theses types of sports etc but will definitely get sick later on (HD)
it will not show the first years but when you practice agility (especially around the time when they’re growing really fast up to their 2 year)
they tend to slow down when they’re older
But as I said please be responsible and try to not visit too many of theses agility courses etc.

By far the best dog. Love my Swiss shepherd got her as pup and she is 1 year now full of love and energy. Best stress aide.
My Swiss Shepherd is 14 years old. She is still beautiful but she has problems walking. 6 months ago she got old dog syndrome. Sheena has a head tilt and sometimes stumbles. We grew old together. White Swiss shepherds are truly a wonderful breed .😊

Yess! The first few weeks of puppyhood are a little crazy so we were swamped.
Shedding only twice a year six months at a time. But Jax is awesome he is 8 and 94lbs. Congrats BBS is awesome breed! I want another but the hair.

We have a white shepherd here in the Uk. She is 7 years old and nobody had seen the breed before. She is the love of our lives. We named her Kyra. The breed is known for being skittish so training was very important for our dog as she is a nervous dog.

My Swiss Shepherd puppy Cora, is currently 18 weeks. I am from Australia and she is just the best dog, such an amazing temperament and so smart! Hope you are enjoying the white fluff puppy cuddles !!

Thank you for sharing the information on Swiss Shepherds. We saw a few puppies that were rescued and they are Swiss Shepherd mixed with Labrador. I think you made some good points about the lineage and temperament .

I’m excited I just got a puppy two weeks ago. I personally owned two cats prior to him and was taken by surprise by the amount of effort it takes to get my silly man trained. It would be amazing to get some tips on how to keep them entertained. I mean i do take him on walks and play with him a ton but I still see he has this need to do other things as well and I don’t want him to get bored (he’s a Pomeranian but gosh he sure does seem like a big dog with all his energy).
Aw congrats on your Pomeranian! You can look for some canine enrichment activities that will get your puppy to sniff, lick, chew, or search for treats. This is super mentally stimulating for them and can tire them out even more than a physical walk. We'll try to film a video about our favorite enrichment activities for active puppies.

Hey, I‘m new to the Chanel but really like the video. I already have a working Cocker Spaniel and am really into dog sports and training with my buddy. Currently I‘m actually thinking about adding a white Swiss shepherd to our family. I did a lot of research and thought into the process, talked to a lot of breeders and trainers at or dog school. Any little information your can share with your experience, any surprises and unknown things you find out, that you wouldn’t necessarily know from internet research is really appreciated ☺️
I want one so bad I was think of getting a Rottweiler or a German shepherd but until I saw a picture of this dog I was in love

I have a long hair WSS puppy, from the same breeder. They are supposed to be heavy shedders, so I was prepared to handle shedding anywhere from a stock coat German Shepherd to a Siberian Husky blowing his coat. GSD always have loose hair on their coat, and this breed is related. However, mine barely sheds. It’s way less than I was prepared to handle. I brush him a bit while he eats breakfast, and then the rest of the day, I can get a few hairs off if I tug gently on the coat. He sheds less than my cattle dog, who’s half his size. Granted, he sheds a lot more when he blows his coat.
If you wear black knit and hug him, you’ll have a few white hairs on you. I actually get more hair on me when I pick up my little Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund cross), but her copper hair does not show on clothing as much as white does.
The long hair tends to clump together when it sheds, so instead of finding hairs spread evenly, there will be little tufts here and there.
I supplement mine with Smart Earth Camelina Oil, and he gets a sardine packed in water once a week.
I have heard the short coat WSS sheds more than the long coat, but I’ve only had a long coat.
If you plan to get one of these dogs, prepare for shedding, feed him high quality food and supplements, brush him once a day, and plan to vacuum. If you prepare for a lot of shedding, you might be pleasantly surprised with less, as I was.
When you mentioned there may be kennels with this breed here in NZ 🤩

I've heard great things about the breeder in Burbank! They were definitely one we were considering. For us it boiled down to timing and Kibo happened to be the gender and temperament we were looking for at the right time, so we went with him!
He looks great, we love are three year old. They are a amazing breed, super smart and incredibly loyal and adoring. So good to see a pup in a good home.
We can't wait to see what he is like at three!
I have a 3 month old male WSS. He is a crazy puppy biter. Does he bite and what did you do about it if he did? Nothing works. I’ve tried everything. We are getting shredded.

I have a Swiss Shepherd female, an amazing dog however you have to be very careful about her diet she can only eat quality food, and you're right the mail is going to be very big and very powerful

We had a white German Shepherd when I was growing up. Not a Swiss Shepherd, but a white Shepherd. Now that I'm retired I'd like to know where or how to get a Swiss White Shepherd in the US.

I don't really like to recommend corgis to most people. They are working dogs with a lot of attitude and need tons of training and stimulation!

I'm curious, since WSS isn't a recognised AKC breed, which breeder did you get him from?
You can check out the American BBS Club for a list of breeders! WSS is not recognized by AKC but here in the US they come with FCI and sometimes UKC papers.

hi, Emily. I love dogs but my parents won't agree because of the work and dedication to them. I have finally convinced them to have a dog after I complete my tenth grade. if possible pls recommend a small dog breed that is common except a chihuahua and that sheds less and makes an excellent dog for kids and I am veg so pls also tell me what foods can I feed them. thank u :)
A great dog for kids is a cockerpoo. My neighbour got one for his and we also have one. No shedding and very friendly

the food you need to prep for dog CANNOT be only veg, has to have kibbles/protein which will contain meat.
if you feed a dog only veg, that is going to caused them be unbalanced nutrition. (it's like you asking a cat to eat only veg when its diet is strictly carnivore)

I think it's an okay place to start but I would recommend checking out the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of America for a list of reputable breeders instead

Also I mean this in no rudeness or disrespectful-ness but you should learn how to pronounce berger blanc suisse the right way which is French. I just know the breeders want us to pronounce it the correct way which isn’t sounding like burger! 😂🥰
I didn't know this! Every breeder I spoke with pronounced it like I did in the video. 99% of the time I tell people he's a White Swiss Shepherd though because they can't understand what I'm saying if I use the French name 🙈
