In this video I show you how to change a VW fan belt yourself! It's an easy job and requires basic tools and skills. It is very important that you check your fan belt tension every time you check the oil levels. Check the fan belt condition regularly and replace if necessary.
Be sure to like and subscribe! I'm committed to developing a great Classic VW resource on UA-cam, and I'll keep the videos coming.

Genius. Old belt was cracked bad so I just cut it off and gave this a shot. New belt on in 20 seconds!
That’s great to hear! 😀

Awesome video! 👍
Thanks mate!
I was attempting to adjust my valves, and when i rotate the pulley to find tdc, my pulley and belt slip a little. Is it normal for a little slipping, or none at all? Thankyou
Nice video, thanks
Thanks Wesley!
What size belt are you using?
I that that one was a 10A0900
What do I do if the belt keeps turning upside down?
It sounds like a case of possible pulley misalignment. Remove both halves of the generator/alternator pulley and check that both the back side of the pulley, and the spacer on the shaft, are not worn. If the spacer has worn a groove into the pulley, replace your pulley.
That’s a great place to start checks anyway on stock pulley set ups. Thanks
For some reason my beetle is making weird squeaky noises I need help
Squeaking from the front or rear? Suspension sounding?
i don't think he actually took the new belt out of the cardboard! He just put the old belt back on! FAKE AND MISLEADING, THUMBS DOWN, REPORTED TO UA-cam
That is not the point the point is he shows how to replace the fan belt his old one could have been fine. And the one in the cardboard is a spare and the broken one in the beginning was an old fan belt.
Hey dumbass..... He just showed how to replace it, thats all... Damn your comment is so ignorant
WOW, what a pig ignorant tool you are.
