Zuko is arguably the best character in the series. He is a victim of his father's and his nation's expectations, forced to believe that kindness and loyalty are signs of weakness. Bullied, abused, and burned by his father, he was ultimately banished. Despite his struggles, he has a good heart but constantly grapples with shame for wanting to be a better person. Azula, too, is a victim of her father's influence. Being a prodigy from a young age drew her father's attention, leading her to emulate his Machiavellian ways. Lacking positive role models, she views the world through her father's distorted lens. Both Zuko and Azula represent the tragic consequences of their upbringing, showing how deeply ingrained familial expectations can shape one's identity.
People say how could the people be so ungrateful to Zuko at the end. If it wasn't for Zuko's family the bullies wouldn't even be a problem, there would be more good soldiers at home to protect people from bullies instead of dying in a war

I would URGE you to think critically about the dynamic in this family as well as everything you've seen about the Fire Nation regime and its values. You've see how ALL the generals and officers behave. You've seen how Ozai acts and rules, and now you've seen how cold, if not slightly more symathetic, his own father was. You know Fire Lord Sozin started this war, Ozai's grandfather. We see Azula who has a naturally cunning mind and gifted Firebending (being more proficient and unique with it then anyone else we've seen). You've also seen that Zuko has average if not below average aptitude for it (all the more reason to work hard for it though). Who will Ozai favor? You've also seen how the mother is completely unlike her husband and in fact many Fire Nation upper class. She is compassionate and even sad at times, while still stern and determined. Favor your child, and you encourage them and their behaviors. We have two parents favoring a different child....lo and behold how they turn out. The opposite happens too....children will drift away from the parent that shuns them, even if they still harbor a need for that parent's approval. It's obvious here that Zuko takes after his mother and uncle, people who accepted him, while Azula highly takes after Ozai. The other key detail is how Iroh and Ursa are seen under Ozai's leadership - they're weak, soft, and practically at odds with nation. All these details shape the perspectives of Zuko and Azula. I would hesitate to just label a 9-year old girl as a bitch.
Zuko has had the darkest upbringings you are probably ever going to see. Fire Nation higher ups will do anything to get ahead,. Zuko is an loyal and honest young man raised in a society that speaks about loyalty and honor but doesn't show any loyalty or honor. I think that Azulon never wanted Ozai to be Fire Lord because he knew Ozai is crazy, evil, egotistical and power hungry. Just the idea of not giving Iroh time to grieve by suggesting they cut him out of his line to the throne clearly angered Azulon. It's my theory that Azulon did love Iroh and Lu Ten. He also thinks Ozai is not fit to rule. So, by telling Ozai to kill Zuko he opens up two possible courses of action. One: Ozai kills Zuko and the family implodes. Two: Ozai disobeys the Fire Lord and they are ostracized. The result is the same. What Azulon didn't count on was Zuko's good and kind mother working together with Ozai to kill Azulon. Their family reunions must be a blast of an event.
I figured when Azulon dismissed the family after Zuko's poor attempt at fire bending forms, Zuko's memory paints him as behind disappointed in him. But in reality he prob didn't care about Azula's or Zuko's fire bending skills. Knowning his son to be the bastard he is, saw through him, appearing to him the moment his grandson died. Ozia didn't even put up the pretense of being in mourning and is flashing his "healthy" family set off as sorts of warning bells in Azulon hence his "Get to the point son (what F*ck-up thing are you going to suggest while I'm in mourning?)" attitude.
Azula is just a kid who is influence alot and praise bu her dad which is a horrible person .. even to the present shes just 14 or 15 shes still a kid .. all her life has been war and being the most violent because of her dad and her mom who cares more about zuko thab her ... i liked when the mom ask "whats wrong with that child?" Im always like wtf thats your daughter you should know whats wrong like you give all your attention to zuko and none to azula...
sorry, but the "reacters" didn´t realize anything. Their biggest problem is the farmers family wasn´t "thankful" enough with Zukos "help" on the roof. Because clinching nails is a really great help. In the reacter´s world. Zuko has stolen his ostrich horse from the last family wich helped HIM. Very "thankful".... And no word about the fact Zuko´s mother killed Firelord Azulon to protect Zuko. And without the stroke of fate by losing his son.... what kind of human was Iroh gonna be? Maybe he would have burned down Ba Sing Se to make his father proud.. I dislike people wich think rules are not for everyone.
