    My former tenant used to tell me "You feel like home to me"
    It's because he lived in my home rent free for years under my roof faking boyfriend while living life as a single man in his parents neighborhood and surrounding areas. I was basically the second mom. His work as a musician made it easy for him.

    The ex before me wrote a book called “Trapped”. (His ex wife had told me about it., once we’d eventually severed ties.) The ex gf had wanted to call it “Psycho Charming” but the publishers refused such. I read the book and contacted her. She had been careful to change some of the details, to avoid any obviousness, and potential libel etc., but the basic plot was EXACTLY the same; same storylines, same locations, same holidays, same lies and gaslighting, same love bombing, same invalidation, same mental, emotional, financial abuse, same name calling, same disappearing acts, same hoovering, same bread-crumbing. His modus operandi. It certainly seems to work for him; short term, and then repeat ad infinitum.

    I can totally relate. I think a sign is the arts.They are grandiose as they see themselves as on the verge of greatness, it never dies until they do. They don’t want responsibility. So they come up with excuses. They are victims or sick mums etc…often with disabilities that keep them from steady work as they don’t want to do something they want to do especially for someone else. They are selfish and entitled. They feel entitled to use others as their only goal is their “ art.” They only love themselves. I am glad that you found out and have a support system. You are on your own financially with the child. Sometimes they come back after a break. They take breaks from responsibility. Since you exposed him, he might not. Good!

I feel ambivalent about him and I don’t care what he is doing and who with, what he did when we were married and didn’t know about, it wasn’t real so it wasn’t relevant and not worth my attention and time

Not realising that refusing the letter or phone call contact , would go against him in the eys of the law. So he disappeared, didn't try to mend the relationship with his children, i suppose he couldn't be bothered. Mind you that was after he was discovered going through a 16 year old, girls Facebook, for photos. I dont think the courts liked that very much! We never heard from him again!

    This story almost mirror's exactly like mine. Told me he hasn't been with anyone in years because God had gotten ahold of him. Asked to kiss me. Eager to help me out with little things around my house. Ect, ect, etc. He asked me to marry him after knowing each other only a month. After 4 and a half months of dating he dumped me for the new women he had met. He made sure to parade her around our mutual friends...or what I had thought was mutual friends because come to find out he had spent the previous month smearing me.

    I know a few of these who waited for the right moment and then gone. But also I tend to vanish, not for narcissistic reasons. I regularly re-evaluate my circle of friends, and move on from those who are dragging me down. No announcement, no calls, I ignore every single one of them, as well as their calls and messages after I move on and am proud of it. I don’t keep people in my life who don’t have my best interest in mind, and I don’t need to take out an advertisement just to give everybody a “heads up” that I’ll be cutting off, they’ll do anything to stay. So I vanish and stick with my tribe . Everyone should do the same and not make vanishing only about narcissism. Vanishing is also about giving your time and energy to the people who are worth it. I don’t keep losers with no ambition in my life, you shouldn’t either.

    This story reminded me of the similar tales of the other fakers, like Kyle Deschanel and the 'Ship's Captain' guy that HG did studies on.
    Really, the only red flag i spotted on this lady's date was when his friends referred to her as "his girl", that sounded creepy, when they had only just met.
    Sounds like the vanishing narcissist used his comedian shtick to find groupies as well as the dating site, perhaps.

    HG, when will you begin the Katie Price series? She has made interesting comments today alleging that she was raped in a park when she was seven, that she has “severe ADHD,” that men have ruined her life etc. Is it just pity play? I’d especially like to know more about the differences between narcissism and ADHD. It’s the thing that confuses me the most about my father. I think that he’s a narcissist (liar, adulterer, smears people, triangulates, juvenile delinquent etc), but he also has traits of ADHD (fast-talker, inability to focus, terrible management of finances and his career)… and it makes me worried/sad that I’m misjudging him as a narcissist.

    • @KittysAreCute
      @KittysAreCute 7 місяців тому

      ADHD and narcissism aren’t mutually exclusive-one could have both. To know for sure, use HG’s narc detector. You’ll answer questions and he’ll assess whether your father is a narcissist, and if so what type, and the reasoning why (e.g. lack of accountability, sense of entitlement, manipulation, triangulation, etc.)

But years later, turning 30, I had just broken up with a guy. And I was vulnerable. I guess taking me to Sam’s club seemed innocent. We married. 2 kids. Sams club trips all the time. A few weeks after he moved out (I asked for divorce) he’s there. With his girlfriend (that he denied having an affair with years and years prior), her kids and my kids. It was absolutely devastating. It was like I never existed. 14 year marriage. 2 children. And now she’s plugged into my place with her kids like I never existed. It was surreal. But yeah. Fucking sams club.

    This is stalking and harrassment that these women are doing. If you had a bad relationship with someone it seems more logical to move on and avoid him. The rest should be dealt with by law enforcement. I would never stalk an ex and I'm a female. Females should respect legal boundaries.

    We humans have instincts and needs for sharing pleasures and eat from each other, we like to go out and hunt, is normal when you're younger, accepted on both parts, etc...however. I think adults accept what they call a 'predator' in advance because they need to have it.
