I loved a girl so very much a while ago. We loved eachother. We held a farewell party for her, me and some friends, up on rooftop of her building. By midnight, everyone was drunk, dancing and fooling adound, but i was on the edge of the balcony, holding her in my arms, listening to this song on my headphone and gazing at the sky, knowing very well that was the end. I tried no to cry so much because i didn’t wanted to make her sad, but when i looked at her, she was weeping as much as me. It is impossible to listen to this and not be transportet to that very moment again.
This song means alot to me. When i was in a band me and my buddy played this song together at practice, with me on bass. Its the best memory i have with him before he died. I felt like as musicians we connected on that song musically. I plan to write music like this eventually, when the time is right.
I am 6'5 foot former U.S Marine machine gunner, but this song instantly brings tears to my eyes.Thank you to the Cure for a lifelong of songs that touch us straight to the core. (Semper Fi)
NO ME CANSO, NI ME CANSARÉ DE ESCUCHAR THE CURE, LO HAGO DESDE LOS 10 AÑOS Y ES PARTE DE MI VIDA A LOS 45. UNA DE LAS MEJORES BANDAS DEL MUNDO Y LA HISTORIA...
Nearly 70 now and fundimentaly the Cure are an old time British folk band like the Kinks or the Who, I guess no one is going to agree, just my opinion. I could have added the Fall, l bet that put the Bat amongst the Lashes
Every summer ends with this song.. We change as time goes by..but some things stay just the same: Like nostalgia for places where we have been, for people we loved, for words we were afraid to tell... I wish that I could just wrapp myself in this song...and wait.. 'till next summer comes..
Today is last day of summer. It reminds me all this summer with my boyfriend. Like a summer he's gone now. When I listen this song I feel so happy that I met him. No matter that it was just for one summer :) Memories keeps me smiling and.. I miss him a bit :)
I'm 48 years old. I've loved this band since I was 12. This band can do nothing wrong in my eyes. They are beyond magical and beautiful. I'm ready for the new album to come out!!!! Someone get a hold of Bob and tell him to stop making us wait!! Long live The Cure! ❤❤
I saw them last December (2023) at Primavera Sounds in São Paulo and that was the greatest experience ever 'cos, just like you, I'm 48 and have loved them since i was kinda 10 or 11. We're lucky to exist at the same era as they do.
@@garrywindshield1 It's crazy to think that comments so old will be here until this website goes down, which may not happen in the next 10-20 years or even longer. When I come back to my old comments, or sometimes stumble upon them, and read about my thoughts from 10-13 years ago, emotions hit me like a brick wall. These comment section are more than just comments, when you used this function, they are like a footprint of thoughts and emotions you felt the moment you watched something that interested and/or moved you during that period, often times being connected to experiences you had shortly before or whilst commenting. Crazy. Also, when reading someone elses thoughts from that long ago, makes me wonder if they are still alive.

I am really into ( good ) music in a big way and the Cure has become the one band I can totally relate to in every song, they can just do no wrong musically, they touch my soul and some of the songs are so incredibly melancholy , makes me want to cry ( And I am totally smitten with Robert Smith )
The Cure Nothing I am Nothing I dream Nothing is new Nothing I think or believe in or say Nothing is true It used to be so easy I never even tried Yeah it used to be so easy But the last day of summer Never felt so cold The last day of summer Never felt so old Never felt so... All that I have All that I hold All that is wrong All that I feel for or trust in or love All that is gone It used to be so easy I never even tried Yeah it used to be so easy But the last day of summer Never felt so cold The last day of summer Never felt so old The last day of summer Never felt so cold Never felt so
the cure especially this song holds such a resonance with my life. my best freind used to have a the cure poster hanging in his room and he's not alive anymore. im addicted to opiates and withdrawing and i cant stop relapsing. every day for me is so cold and nothing is true. hit the nail right on the head with this one.
I’m so sorry to read this. I just read Lol Tolhurst’s book about his addiction. If he can be brave enough to seek help, so can you. Please reach out to someone who can help you xo
This is a good video because I can look back into the past to 2000 just after the Bloodflower album 1998. One such look back is my 2002 Trilogy from Berlin. Its all about ups and lows of cure relationships some long and some short. Time had run out then as one reaches middle life. And this is a song metaphore of Robert and Cure life till then. Now its 2021 and I can see what he meant
the last day of summer never felt so cold. love the lyrics beautiful. reminds me of the sad and good times with my ex girl.. she was my everything id die for Her . She only live bout 5 minutes away from me but we are a million tears apart from eachother.I wish i can just hold you in my arms and leave to place where no one knows who we are to start a new life .i know thats not possible so ill just embrace the thoughts of us . hopefully when this life is over we can meet again and be happy forever

Several songs bypass all your defenses, and strike directly at the heart. This is one of those. Simply beautiful.

Hey kids, I'm going to be 60 next year and the Cure are the best folk band to come out of this country. I love them, they always lift me

The Cure is not a folk band. Please! What an insult.

A very underrated album in my opinion. Truly superb.
Yesterday in Stuttgart they performed this song, too..and I saw The Cure November 1987 in Stuttgart first time ..the magic never ends ..❤
This is the most melancholic song i Ever heard, lyrics says a lot how
I feel sometimes
Best Song of Cure, in my opinion
Une pure merveille. Les paroles, la musique, tout y est. Du grand Robert Smith, du grand Cure. J'adore.
Literally the best song on Bloodflowers.
Both acoustic and electric only the Cure can pull that off so beautifully ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I can listen to this song over and over .....love it so much❤️So much feeling

Nothing I am

Nothing is new
Nothing I think or believe in or say
Nothing is true
It used to be so easy

But the last day of summer
Never felt so cold

Never felt so old
Never felt so...
All that I have
All that I hold

All that I feel for or trust in or love
All that is gone

Yeah it used to be so easy
But the last day of summer
