    Big fan of the black rims with the grey. Gives the car an aggressive look without looking silly or too flashy.

      Thanks for watching Walter. I agree, it gave the car a much meaner presence. I really like it :)

    Loved the video, I drive my 996Turbo all season round, just changed the oil to 0w40 and changed wheels with blizzaks tires as i call it " winter package " think i'd love to mount the snowboard on the roof and go snowboarding for a day. it's been years since last time i went snowboarding -- Porsche is everyday car! and it can be! cheers!

      DailyDrivenTurbo do they salt the roads? How does the oem rust protection handle? Thinking of a cayman 2007 as daily but i dont want it to rust like crazy

    Ceramic coating is great. I have it in all my cars and I first did it on my S4 in the Midwest. It’s very easy to keep clean with a touch less and brushless automated car wash. I went once a week as well.

      I'm pretty excited about the ceramic coating! Thanks for tuning in!

    Good to see your 997 being driven through the winter. I used my 4s last winter in the U.K (not as a daily just for fun) but still allowed me to have lots of fun 😎👍

      Thanks for watching! My daily driving is really not much, I roll into the office once or twice a week otherwise I'm at the home office so it's not really a daily grind kind of car - though it can be. I'm most excited for some snow so I can go do some parking lot hooning :) Cheers!

    The rack system is super slick! Love the look with the box. Hope you get a lot or turns in this snow season.

    Nice to see that you use the 4S in the winter. I haven't got a 911 yet, but I am always torn between getting a 4S or CarreraS. I am with you on the rust protection. I use two, 90 day carwash passes for the winter on the Bimmer, from Shell or Petro Canada, for our winters in the GTA. Have fun with the 997 and nice video again.

    • @911Percent
      @911Percent  5 років тому

      Thanks!! Yeah, i'm excited to see how it will do when things get real -- Mid December on..lol.. I would suggest you drive both variations 2S and 4S for a bit, so you can see the difference. The AWD system in the 997.2 cars is taken from the 997Turbo, and is RWD for the most part unlike the older systems in the 997.1, 996 and 993. It's excellent, car is very lively despite being AWD. Thanks for watching!

    • @En2zeeist
      @En2zeeist 5 років тому +1

      Thanks for the insight on the AWD systems. That is good to know.
      I'm sure you will be fine, unless we get piles of snow. They plow so soon after storms now. So many people use their 4S' here and in Germany, all year. Be safe.

    I run Sottozerros on my 997.2 TT and they work really well. They are very grippy in the cold. I got 4 seasons out of the rears. Beware that you can’t drive on anything more than a few inches of packed snow before the bottom cladding turns the car into a snowboard.
    See you out there!

      This is my fear of this whole winter driving business with the 997 - clearance..I'm S-PASM height too..I think my runs up to Collingwood along HWY26 on the weekends are a pipe-dream I'm going to have to take my wife's suv... :(

      911Percent I keep watching this video, this is one of the best looking 997’s out there with the gray color and black wheels, looks amazing. I think it would look great with 19” summer wheels too.

      Thanks so much!! ..It has the 19" double spoke, 5 star Carrera S II wheels for the summers. I love them :) I may need to powder-coat them black or find a black set for summer after these OZ winters lol.. :)

    Good Video. Have you thought of installing some front screens to keep leaves and road debris getting to the radiators? I have them on my 991 and love them...... no more leaves and rocks getting to the radiator/condenser.

    • @911Percent
      @911Percent  5 років тому

      Thanks Christopher. I've been inspecting what goes in there - just habit from 993 ownership, and even after driving every day this fall with the leaves all over the place, not much has gotten in there. I'll definitely look into it though - great advice! Cheers!

      Go with the zunsports grills - me and several other guys with 997s here in the GTA have them. As well you may wish to do paint protection film in addition to ceramic. Did it in my 997 Targa this year and love the result!

    • @911Percent

    Jakob do you know the wheel dimensions of your winter setup? Particularly the offsets. 18x8 fronts? 18x11 rears? Are you using spacers? I just bought an 09' C4S 6MT and looking to put 18" wheels on for winter! Thanks in advance!

  • @713vinh

    Looks like you had it on sports + mode when you punched it? Is this mode an option because I can't see myself driving without it. It turns into an absolute beast!

    • @911Percent
      @911Percent  5 років тому

      In this vid I had Sport on only..I very rarely use Sport+ only if it's super dry and warm and nobody around so I really punch it :)

  • @K1dPhresh1
    @K1dPhresh1 5 років тому +1

    Sorry, but for the most part I loathe the black rim trend. I get it, it’s a winter set up, but I can’t get with the color. All that aside, I’m jealous of the snow and “cooler” temps you guys get. It’s 72° F (22° C) here in Texas. Roof rack looks good. Also, you got some pretty cool transitions and effects going on in this video. Nice work!

    • @911Percent
      @911Percent  5 років тому

      Lol..yeah colour is definitely a subjective thing, some will like it others won't. I like them..changed the look of the car a bit. Yeah the seaonal changes are nice, I love it, though 22C is pretty nice and comfy! Thanks for watching and the feedback! Cheers :)

    • @713vinh

    Can I ask a valid question?
    Do you really drive this car every single day of winter in Ontario even after 20 cm of snow or after a huge snow storm ?

    • @911Percent
      @911Percent  5 років тому +1

      Yes, I did, but not after 20cm snowstorms (not many of those here in Toronto). Car has a height limit - anything over 10cm is a not a good idea. I drove it to Blue Mountain and back every weekend pretty much. It's a very capable sports car.

    Every time I see your 997 I regret selling my 2011 C2S Platinum Silver on Black. 😢. Wanted to advise you to periodically check the small deflector on the front edge of the rear inner fenders. My 911 gathered a lot of stones from prior winter drivers here in upstate NY and I ended up removing quite a large amount of sand, dirt and rocks from this area. Good luck this winter!

    • @911Percent

    I had a 997.2 launch car in PDK and hated it. Sold it and bought an e92 M3 and I love it. End of story.

    • @911Percent
      @911Percent  5 років тому +2

      Sure you did lol...but yes, the early PDK on the 09 cars without an update is not the best - so I've read.

    • @nunyabizness8226
      @nunyabizness8226 5 років тому

      911Percent No offense but I found my 997.2 C4S to be very underwhelming so I kicked it to the curb in favor of the e92 M3...a car that actually has some soul. Meanwhile, all 911's basically look the same, which I also feel really takes away from the overall experience of owning the car.

    • @911Percent
      @911Percent  5 років тому +2

      Soul? All look the same? LOL. How is it that you consciously bought it in the first place if you didn't like how it felt or looked? Do you know what I can smell from a mile away? Thank you for the laugh and enjoy that E92 M3 - awesome cars. Cheers!

    • @nunyabizness8226
      @nunyabizness8226 5 років тому

      911Percent Have you ever made a mistake? I did when I bought that car. Thank god I rectified it as soon as I realized it.

    • @opnarth
      @opnarth 3 роки тому

      @@nunyabizness8226 I bought a e92 M3 and hated it so much that I killed myself. In turns out that in here in heaven, everyone drives 997.2 911 C4S with PDK, but WITH the software update, becuase, as 911 Percent pointed out, it really improves the responsiveness.
