My parents were married for almost 67 years (my Mom passed away 2 months before their 67th anniversary), my father & mother-in-love have been married for 65 years, my wife and I have been married for almost 45 years. The value of marriage has to be accepted by faith and commitment, and if done so, there's no way to describe the reward. I lament for those who approach and enter into marriage seeking short-term fulfillment as they'll likely never find what they're chasing after. Life is hard, and fulfillment comes from committing to someone to take on life's challenges together--unity through mutual suffering. When you're struggling through life's challenges with someone you love, i.e., are completely committed to--and necessarily someone who has come to know you at your deepest level, what more could anyone of us want in this life than to be known at that level, and still be completely accepted and loved? I am married to the greatest woman who has ever lived (with the possible exception of Mary, the mother of Jesus, but I'm convinced my wife and Mary are probably sisters), and I am greatly blessed.
You might be interested to know that Dan Peek , one of the founding members of the band America became tired of the traveling, drinking , and drug use and groupies and in 1977 left the group renewed his Christian faith and became one of the pioneer's of Contemporary Christian Pop music. Sadly he died in 2011 at age 60. Well sad fr the rest of us but I'm sure he is enjoyong being with his LORD and Savior Jesus Christ!
It's about a heroin trip. One summer in the 80s at 32n'e street naval base open park area they gave a FREE concert to anyone who could get on base. Awesome show This song is 50 years old.
Check out their songs, Ventra A Highway, Tin Man, I Need You, Sister Golden Hair Surprise, Daisy Jane, The Last Unicorn, Sand Man, Living On The Riverside, Monster, Muskrat Love. They have tons of songs from the 70's.
Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. Romans 5:3-5
In the 1960's 70's "Horse" was the nickname for heroin. If you listen to the lyrics to this song, you understand that is what the band is singing about.
I remember when this came out, everyone thought it was Neil Young. Style and music too close for me that I think it was meant to sound like him, especially during the top of NY popularity. Copy cats!
my childhood almost forgot about them....thanks for reminding me how old I am....go bugger your selves..LOL I did realy loved the reaction thanks for this!!!!

Nah, live and let live. Marriage isn’t for everyone. Let’s not spend what limited time on Earth telling other people how to live their lives.
