Alex is at his best when he isn't trying to be like Lennon or Bowie. Although I admit when he does he carries it off fairly well. I appreciated his many Bowie and Roxy music posturings in Tranquility Base album and I think that album is great but it's mainly ripped from Bowie nonetheless. I don't think he would be ashamed to admit it. He is following the footsteps of his heroes but you can only look like a mere imitator if you go too far. Alex has alot of talent and I don't think he has even hit his peak yet. I think however this is just a phase he is going through and he'll soon tire of the slight pretense and we'll see Alex again in all his modest originality and glory.
