Clearly you don't listen. It was clear to everyone & eventually Catherine that he just wasn't into her, he was preparing them both for the moment he would eventually leave her for someone else but he just didn't find anyone worth pursuing (He clearly doesn't pursue women, at least not in the villa, Idk about in real life but he's a low effort dater.)
He did nothing for her birthday, packed nothing for her for casa & even packed her another girls outfit, told her continuously he was open to getting to know other girls, talked about followers, complemented to bombshells he didn't know but not Catherine, told Leah how she turned him on but never flirted with Catherine, claimed he'd think about kissing Gabby depending on how she looked that night... he had more passion when speaking about Leah & Kady than Catherine etc.
They're not suited for one another. Whatever he's looking for hopefully he finds it but Catherine was in the right to move on.

Yes there's clearly a lot of scenes and interactions between Catherine and Scott that would have explained Catherine's behaviour before she went over to Casa Amor. Which for some reason, producers decided to leave out. She went over there feeling completely hurt that Scott hadn't put any thought into the suitcase and so Elom complimenting and flattering her happened at just the right time for her.

Myself and some other viewers were able to read between the lines and see both her and Scott’s perspective instead of jumping to react, so a lot of what Catherine’s saying isn’t too surprising to me. I’m just glad she was able to share her truth and I can’t wait to hear more from her. It is cliche to say this, but fans do only see an edited hour of their day so while I could critique how she handled things, I would never have demonized her based off of her low moment, especially when 1) she’s also had more positive moments 2) there was clearly so much context missing regarding the situation 3) the environment she was in and her particular journey and 4) the fact that it’s been said she apologized to the person she needed to apologize to multiple times. Hopefully she’s able to reflect on her experience and receive a lot of support from her loved ones but she’s a gorgeous woman and seems like she has a genuine heart, so I truly wish the best for her and will continue to support her. I am definitely anticipating hearing Scott’s POV to everything as well.

I'm still a fan of Catherine. No she did not conduct herself perfectly in some of the situations with Scott but its an extremely absurd situation happening in front of a camera crew and she's human. To be on a show that is all about being very attractive and hear no one thinks anything of you would knock me badly if I'm honest. And you're stuck with these people 24/7! As a dark skinned black woman, Cath was clearly gaslit by the other islanders and i think it truly got to her, and made her question her self-worth. Scott is not perfect either, he seems like a nice guy, but we'll see what happens when the show ends, or he is dumped. If Cath is on a redemption arc, shes learnt from what happened, if her and Scott end up friends and hanging out in Dublin, that would be cute. Never say never.

I'm glad Catherine got the opportunity to explain her experience and perspective because the public needed it but honestly it was so obvious to me that this is what happened. People are so quick to villainise islanders especially black women but it was so clear to me that the game player comments got to her and why wouldn't it? Dark skinned black women are always the target of game players on love island so of course she developed doubts with the entire villa repeatedly telling her she's being played. It was also obvious that the casa girls told her that Scott was unwanted. You can even see Leah turn to Amber to confirm before saying it louder. Production played a hand in sabotaging Catherine but the public should've extended her grace because to me it was so obvious what was going on. Next time think before villainising islanders especially black women because production never protects them and they're always overly hated for the smallest misunderstandings.

I disagree with most of what you said in your comment, regardless of what she was told about Scott, she didn’t need to conduct herself in the way that she did, we are all responsible for our actions and how we are perceived. And she did herself no justice when she stated
shouting and being rude when he was just tying to talk to her calmly.
The fact that Whitney was trying to calm her down said it all for me. Her behaviour was embarrassing and atrocious.
She said she’s strong in this interview, but failed to demonstrate that strength in the villa when people were putting ideas in her head about her relationship with Scott, that was when she needed to show strength in my opinion.
Also her apology was not a proper apology to me, it was a hot mess on after sun. She was just waffling to me and made no sense.
The world is never going to change its views on black women/ people, so knowing how to conduct yourself, especially publicly, is important.
I was very disappointed in her behaviour on the show.

Great interview, I knew there was more to the story so I didnt jump on the hate bandwagon. But, I must say that I am refusing to watch LI after this season. I get the producers are all about views and ratings, however to set Catherine up like that and not even try and show some of the softer conversations seeing the amount of hate and vitriol that Catherine was receiving is truly evil. They could have done a lot better to calm the storm before her exit but kept up the facade of evil/rude Catherine with their editing which led to that trash dumping. I fear they are setting Whitney up for the same fate looking at tonights preview and revealing she was the publics favorite.
