One of the most remarkable baritones ever... I think Amato, Scotti and Ancona would make this list too...

A heavy baritone with an incredibly polished top. You don't hear that every day. Or every century, for that matter.

He knew a lot of things about voice & techniqueR.Resnik told him ,that she didn't feel confortable ,for some months ,with her roles...
..Have you ever thaught ,he said her ,that it should be possible not being a real soprano. And he transformed her .Bidu Sayao ,wanted to sing Faust. No ,he said.Because the church scene is too heavy for your instrument ,& it will harm you...
    He knew his job....👑

What an underrated singer today!!! One of the greatest baritones ever--unfortunately he recorded for Columbia whose equipment at this time was not anywhere near equal to that of Victors--who Caruso and so many others recorded for. Ponselle in her early years also made this mistake--however she recorded a beautiful rendition of :Comion thro the Rye with her sister Carmella who was a mezzo and in the opinion of my coach Solon Alberti who played for both of them in vaudeville was the better singer! Danise
