Checking in with the Di-Pole today to show how well I've been getting on with it from the home base and as you will see in the video it doesn't do badly at all.

For DX in a flat I would be going for a long wire or inverted V. In the past I have used a fence that was a few miles long by a roadside as an HF aerial. It's amazing what you can tune up! As a covert CB antenna I used a wire on a chimney flu! The coax had a 9ft piece of wire around the edge of the carpet and SWR was 1.5 from 26-28mhz. Get experimenting. Stealth antennas are fun. You can run long aerials a few feet above ground.
Cheers oh ive done a few experiments here and ill continue to do so. Di-pole is doing great though and as long as I can find the time I'll certainly try a few things out.
Nice contacts Al, less chance of me getting them with 2 watts that I run! Not been on very much in this cold weather. Good to see your dipole working well.
Cheers bud, not a bad antenna, surly you can get a bit more than 2 whiskeys, but if you make it on that then big respect and it can be done. I need to try on lower power, alot of people on beams now, bur it can be done. I Look Forward to local UK skip happening again and making some 108 div Conacts again. Best 73 bud
@@Al.26TC101 I just like low power, though it can be very frustrating when local high power stations just walk over me without a second thought, however, it can be very rewarding when I am on when skip just starts and I get there before the high powered boys get there.

Some decent contacts there Al, that dipole is definitely working well. Weather over our way has been really good all week which is quite odd for this time of year. Anyway enjoy your Easter egg if there’s any left. 😁

@@Al.26TC101 Like a say it has been ace over here and was very welcoming as i have just put up over 40ft of new fencing. Just a thought regarding the dipole, maybe you could knock a reflector up for the back of it, might be worth a few dB and peanuts to build.
