Absolutely 💯.. I totally agree. We can sit here and watch and like or comment. But get in the game ! So go or order what We all want our BBQ to taste like. So We can work towards that. Great video. I will be doing the same..
Blacks is my absolute favorite BBQ. I was raised in ATX and still live just outside the city. We frequent Lockhart, the home of Blacks BBQ. Terrys twin sons have opened an Austin and Dallas location. The ATX location is very good too. The brisket is excellent but the beef ribs are out of this world! If you ever make it down to central Texas you will want to try one.
You sir, owe me a new laptop!! I just drewled on mine and shorted it out...LOL Thanks for taking us along for the ride. Can't wait to see you next brisket and the changes you've made.
I saw that Qutorial video and I agreed so much that since my family and I are still not comfortable going on a cruise. We decided to head to Austin Texas in the fall
That was a good way to do it. I would imagine the trip from Cleveland down and back, plus the costs while you're there, would be more expensive. Thanks for sharing.
I spent some good money on the Franklin brisket myself but I feel it was something I needed to see what I can pick up from them that I may have to change when using my LSG. Much like how you described it! I'm from South Texas and with my small business, it's hard for us to drop everything to head out 7 hours away or so, wait in line and then try it first hand so shipping it was the best thing. Now that I know what I liked and what I can add on top of it, I'll keep working on it to perfect it! Great video! I've been subbed with my other channel but didn't realize I wasn't subbed on this one so just subbed now!
@@WeekendWarriorBBQ mine came out beautifully, hands down the best brisket i ever had, my mouth went to flavor town and had multiple orgasms. im gonna try snows bbq next
Cool video bro.. I'm so mad I was just in Dallas for a conference and didn't know I was less that 2 miles away from Terry Black's I found out the day I left..smh Anyway I just found your channel and subbed, I'm an Ohioan as well. I just got my LSG offset and looking forward adding some content into the BBQ world and seeing more content from you cooking on yours. I'll keep an eye out for you.. Keep Smoking!!
Wow brother Mike brisket looks amazing. Imagine if you got it fresh off the smoker yummy. I do know one thing your briskets will get to that point brother dare you are experiencing now with blacks brisket. Keep smoking keep practicing I know you could do it.
Good central Texas brisket almost always has only salt and pepper....the wood used is oak or oak/pecan locally sourced. Thats the flavor, and of course great meat.
This is interesting. I may try this out for the next get together. I'm digging your videos btw...I would have never thought about smoking Lay's potato chips until I watched your most recent upload!
I just got a frozen brisket from Terry Black's for Christmas. I've had it at the restaurant but I am anxious to see how it turns out at home. Thanks for your video.
@@WeekendWarriorBBQ - It turned out good for the most part but there were a few parts on the flat that were a little dry. I feel like I left it in for 15 minutes too long. Total cook time was 2 hours 15 minutes. It tastes exactly like eating at the restaurant but obviously it's best when it's fresh from Terry Blacks.
The last brisket I cooked was salt pepper garlic and some paprika I usually make my own rub but I'll stick to spg from now on can't beat it I'm gonna try using white oak next time I've always used hickory. Keep up the good work your vids are always great!!!
I just left terry blacks in Austin an hour ago. The brisket is softer than fillet mignon. I'm from California and we don't have anything close to this.
@@WeekendWarriorBBQ see, now ima have to cop an offset smoker... can I get a note from you explaining to the wife why it is imperative that I purchase an offset smoker now?
Really nice video Mike! Oh man did that look delicious! I’m wondering if the butcher paper they sent was to wrap the brisket in....just a thought. Great video!
Sir, A truly perfect brisket is one that's been separated properly, so both the point and the flat can be sliced against the grain! Then it would have put you into the eighth heaven! (Looks great, I'm just jealous...)
Here is the description: Terry Black’s ships its Texas Smoked Brisket nationwide on Goldbelly! With four generations of pitmaster experience, the Black family knows Texas barbecue, and is home to some of the best BBQ in Austin. Terry Black’s sources the best Prime brisket, which they smoke for over 12 hours using slow-burning Post Oak Wood, giving the meat a deep smoky flavor that the pretenders can’t match.
Yes I did 😁. I haven’t used LSG in my video titles just like I’m not using Pit Boss or Gateway Drum Smokers in the titles. The videos are about the food. After cooking on all of the different smoker I have, I figured out that you can achieve fantastic barbecue no matter what kind of smoker you have
His experience of what a top choice brisket taste like is justified if he can get them gears in his head turning to replicate the experience. Look at it as a investment
I spent $189 not $179
Looks great! Btw what knife and cutting board set up is that?
Comes out to $27 a pound which is pretty standard plus you don’t have to travel to Austin

It was cooked on a very large, horizontal offset smoker

I do agree with you that separating the two muscles before slicing them is superior.
Did you have to let it thaw out?
Yes you do.
Haha…I had them for lunch this week… right down the street. Way to get ripped off.
Awesome video mike, does it say pit type, brisket type, prime, etc ?

Pretty close. I’m in Cleveland/ West park area
Nice! I’m about 25 minutes west in Lagrange!

Cool! I’ve been to Lagrange a couple times. Browns Fan?
Born and raised! I bleed orange and brown!
I actually started chewing when you put that juicy brisket in your mouth. Have mercy, that looks delish.
Is that a new offset smoker?
Yes it is. I bought it back in July 2020 and it shipped in Late November 2020. I have three videos on it so far.
Can you sous vide the brisket?
Hi, Rod. I dont see why not.
Here we go Brownies..........
Go Browns! :)
woof woof!!!!! Go BROWNS!!!
Thankfully it was your money and not mine... $25/lb for reheated meat is a big no go for me.
My man, cool video, but you can crank out way better brisket on your LSG! Serious. That brisket looked very average to me.
I just bought one from Snows! Tootsie forever!
Would love to try Snow's sometime!
Nice! How was it?
Hmmm, looks dry. Doesn’t look anything like Franklins…
Out done yourself again!
shows $189 online for a 5lb one, did you order the 5 and got that 7 lb'er
Yeah I ordered the same one... it says 4-5 pounds.
I just went back and checked the receipt. It was $189 and not $179.
Sorry I can't justify spending 179.00 on a brisket .
