Oh boy! I was there as a 15 year old old. First rock concert I ever attended. My mom asked my older sister if it was OK for a 15 year old boy to go to Paradiso alone. Sis said yes, I went see Japan. They just broke with Adolescent Sex in Holland. This song was towards the end, or the encore.
Strangely enough, when I next asked if I could go see the Stranglers my mom said no.....

Gelukkig! Would have loved to have seen them at Paradiso for any album! Love how clear Mick's bass is.

I’ve never heard this. Wow, very good take on this song. A “Japan” glam spin on a classic Stones song. Nice. It’s good to hear David speaking to the audience with an attitude too.

Love it! I LOVE hearing Japan's early stuff (glamrock with a twist of punk) Great take on the original by the Rolling Stones (doodoodoodoo (heartbreaker)) Japan certainly had mastered the sound they were going for at the point but were still a little lost as to what way they where they were going to go and how to get there! I must admit a couple of my favourite songs by Japan are Adolescent Sex and Don't rain on my parade. Who would imagine how Davids voice would change so much from South London twang to soft, thoughtful and gentle dulcet tones. Lol x

WOW!! Thank you! What a weird combination of punk vocals, funk rhythms, and occasional metal riffs early Japan were!
Mr Batt has certainly changed his accent over the years

+moodyb I wish there were more bold bands like Japan and Living Colour nowadays. This is music that withstands the tests of time. Not about making a hit but making a statement.

moodyb Do you foresee wider releases of the unreleased versions of David's Ride from the Dutch sessions or Lying with You anytime soon? If so let me know ☺

Great to hear this. On the subject of bootlegs etc, might anyone have a copy of the 1982 live bootleg that features an interview with Sylvian and Jansen? I'd really love to hear it. Might moodyb have it up his sleeve?
