Pity he wasn't 5 or 10 years younger, imagine him mixing with saad Muhammad,spinks, galindez,conteh quasi and marvin Johnson for me he beats all those tremendous fighters but his legacy would have been far greater. It was almost cruel they way that his own era had so few fighters to seriously challenge him, and as soon as he retired in '77, one of the greatest generations of Light-Heavies ever started coming up.

Wicked extreme dangerous left hook. Extremely dangerous leverage transferring to impact. Strong impact jab; not a tapping- point making- feeling out punch. It hit like a straight left. He was the best light heavyweight ever in Boxing. No other lightweight from any other era was better. He was the best.
He later admitted his biggest mistake when going up to HW was he tried to hard to knock out the HW fighters instead of boxing them. And it cost him. Still a beast though.

Quarry looked as if he was dead and I'm not saying that in jest. He cleaned out an entire division and had the grit to face Frazier and Ali when they were good.
