On the older Husqvarna and Craftsman, the first six digits of the serial number are the date of manufacture; month, day, year. You did well for $5.00!!

You are so right, I enjoy watching Brad. I have talked to Brad before and I told him that I live through his videos because I have a eye problem and if I had 20/20's, I would be doing what Brad does.

You're making me rethink trying to roll my lawnboy down the hillside and landing it on the RR tracks at the bottom! It has a Kohler XT650 engine that seems under powered if the grass is more than 2 inches high. It doesn't get much maintenance since the only local repair shop already screwed me on my chainsaw repair. After $100.00 worth of "service" it still leaks fuel and bar oil, but it does start easier.
If you're having a hard time going through grass, it's time for a blade sharpen. Go ahead and pull your carb off and clean it too. It's a 20 minute job. Get some spray carb cleaner from the auto parts store in a can. Spray all the orifices out real good. Clean the emulsion tube and main jet. Change oil to make sure there's no sludge in the crank case. I'm betting it'll cut just fine after that. Keep your deck clean too. If it's caked with grass, it'll bog down. Maybe also try setting the cutting height up an inch or so.
I actually did luck out myself this summer. I bought an older high end sears lawn mower from a guy who used to cut lawns for his rental properties, and he just retired from it. It didn’t start up right away, i think it needs a bit of work, but i got it going and its pretty damn good.

Yeah, someone pointed out that I've mowed my lawn with a different mower every time this year. They ain't far off! Probably have the neighbors really confused. "When did he get an orange mower?"
DO NOT put gas on ash fault it dissolves the tar which holds the aggregate together .
Throw some wax on that deck. That orange pops off! Will catch a sellers eye👍
