My family had shopped there for decades. My first auto insurance next to the escalator. Toy, garden, camping department. Craftsman tool department.. Next time you video a building closer, find someone who knew the building layout!!!! It would have been nice to hear as your exploring along!!!
So so many memories of Sears growing up and when I was first married. We were a family of 8. My parents bought furniture there for all our rooms using the payment plan. Our refrigerator freezer came with a food plan. I remember getting shoes there and my father buying candy at their counter, bracelets for my sister and I. And the Wish Books! When I first got married it was the place to purchase bathroom ensembles, bedding, kitchen tools and Craftsman tools for my husband for our first Christmas. Sigh.😐
Fantastic. Thank you for sharing. I loved this Sears and a lot of my family lived in West Toledo. I didn´t live there until the early 90´s but I have all the memories from the 80´s
I was a loyal Craftsman tool buyer going back to the early 1970s. Every year I would add to my toolbox. I was so disappointed when Sears outsourced their iconic tool brand overseas and never bought a Chinese made Craftsman tool. I can't blame this for its demise but as they sold more junk made overseas they lost more and more customers. Yes, I will miss the old Sears that still sold Made on the USA products.
Sad that Sears went under. I worked for Sears for 30 years. They had too many in corporate office that put them under. They wouldnt change with the times.
@gtcivic3 That's why I filmed them so you could pause and look at them. Figured people would find that interesting. The entire corner was littered with schematics I didn't want to touch anything
I can hear the adrenaline rush and get the same when I explore these kinda paces! Thx for uploading this Nate. Nice footage man!

Thanks for this. It's sad to watch these old behemoths fall.

That empty mall would make a kickass roller skating rink.
Itvwasnt a mall, it was a store, a huge store

I remember shopping there many times decades ago when i lived in the area. I'm sad that it's gone.
My local Sears was one of the 27 that survived
I’m not going to say where it was but it closed in 2020 due to covid and it was a Sears hometown store
We use to have shears at my Mall. It was close in till it was turned into a indoor theme park
How are the lights on? I assumed the power was shut off years ago when it closed.
I don't know how you got in but I'm jealous. This building is completely gone now.
The door was unlocked and open after Vandals went inside and sadly caused damage which you see in the video.
do a video inside the abandoned sears at the great lakes mall

Weird because Elder Bermen is gone also. Terrible.
I feel I could have saved Sears. The mistakes were glaring long before.
