Truth has to be spoon fed to the babies who inhabit our world. Lou just put it all on a plate and those who could take hung on every word. Its nice to see you and some of the other folks here who appreciate the Icon? the prophet? the truth teller who continues to be Lou Reed....Im very sure that he "continues".

Had the great pleasure of meeting Lou in London in Sep 2013. Still struggle with the fact that only 7 weeks later he left us all. But what he left us with can never be forgotten. His influence is so far reaching that his light willl shine for eternity

I met Lou in New York back in the seventies and he was eating a chocolate egg cream and I asked him if I could have a taste and he gave me a taste and I looked at him and said: Take a Walk on the Wild Side and he laughed.

@@navmanshack1579 On his album ‘Set the Twilight Reeling’ Lou has a song called “Egg Cream”, all about chocolate egg cream.
“The only good thing I have to say about P.S. 92
Was the egg cream served at Becky's, it was a fearsome brew”

I didnt realise until his death how much a part of my cultural DNA Lou remains since my youth. The feeling of being robbed of my friend suprised me. A Crazy Feeling! Why? I think its because Lou remained authentic; he was incapable of selling out. Easily he could have made millions writing exquisitely lush songs, but we would have lost out on the quixotic genius who seduced, infuriated, baffled, bewildered, cumudgeoned, divided, and stood his passionate ground to the very end. And I loved him.

Lou's death has hit me really hard. Even though I never knew him personally, I feel like a dear and trusted friend has died. Lou Reed has been part of my life since as far back as I can remember. He was a brilliant artist and performer (a true original) who produced a strong body of work right up to his last years.
There will never be another Lou Reed.

Some people are saying that 70 is old. Very odd comment? The life expectancy in Canada is 80(ish). That includes the people who have drank heavily, shot drugs and smoked like they are going to the chair. Also those who eat greasy fast food for 2 of 3 meals for 65 of those years. In my family, 3 of 4 Grandparents made it past 95...quality of life years until the last year. Live doing the "bad stuff" in moderation and you too will live 25 years+ past the 70th birthday.

where did punk rock come from? Lou Reed. Where did music come from? Lou Reed. Where did mankind come from? Lou Reed. Where did the universe come frome? Lou Reed. This is not inmodest, it's just a fact. I also invented these great sun glasses! I'm so great bla bla bla bla bla bla

You must not be aware that is the world life expectancy, so yes it is OLD, even if you're from a country were it is more 80 or 82.
