Lots of good information. Does anyone know of any good builders websites? I've looked but haven't found any. The T-18 and S-18 are hands down my favorite designs and I have full confidence in them because of Mr thorps design background with Piper. My first airplane ride was in a scratch built T-18 back when I was a kid. The builder was an elderly man based in Miami, Oklahoma. I'll never forget the flight that he gave me. I wish that I could remember the N number but as a kid I didn't think about memorizing it. Good times!
I am not aware of any good builder websites either. We have had a T-18 in the family, agree its a solid design! Thanks for watching and hope you can find some builders! Here is an owner's forum at Oshkosh this year, may be some helpful info - ua-cam.com/video/g5iMK5d_C8Q/v-deo.html
I guess I'm just getting old! The T-18 never used Pop rivets! This misinformation tells me I can't trust what is being said! I was around when it first showed up! My first Fly-in was Rockford 1960! Please do a better job of checking your facts!
You are absolutely correct, even internal rivets were driven, external were flush driven, maybe what he should have said was it was originally designed that it "could" be built using pop rivets... Good call on that!
