When you have a farm, decades worth of buried junk can and will come up year after year. It’s a never ending process of finding things that have been pushed up from depths from freezing, thawing and rain. A great metaphor for life, because when you are in the process of working on yourself, it becomes a process of recognizing and dealing with all the junk, trauma, and tons of repressed memories you’ve ignored for pretty much your entire life. They just keep exposing themselves more the further we get along in our journey. So it’s much the same, a never ending process. When you embark on the journey of self reflection and healing, it will never be a one and done thing, and you will never come to a point where you say, I’ve fixed and dealt with all my issues because we are constantly changing, and as we change, new issues arise. The point is to acknowledge these issues and deal with them instead of burying them or ignoring them for “later”, because they will always come back to haunt you until you do! Loved this video Morgan, thank you!

@@HenryHarcsa The world we are in today is a zone, a region of using goodness to combat evil. A farm won't organize itself and forever has upkeep. We cannot escape this equation in this world -- that philosophically leaves the hereafter, but it would also be wrong to say this world counts for nothing at all. We can move to situations of better advantage in the equation.

"Wherever you go, there you are." I've been learning this all my life, starting from life out of college, always assuming that changing my circumstances would lead to me feeling better. Once the initial disruption of situational change was past, I was always back struggling with my issues. Didn't need to pack them in boxes, I just kept holding onto them. But I'm not dead yet, and I've become more and more adept at managing my issues with ever-expanding self-awareness and an ever-improving toolbox of techniques. Thanks for being an example, Morgan!

I guess the question could be turned around to ask if/how moving to the farm helped you on your self-discovery process. I am sure being out of the rushing business world and into rural life affected your ability to look at yourself more clearly. It seems when there is a job that is a part of your identity, so is the stress, etc. Without that being an overwhelming part of who you are, you are likely to "dig deeper" into self-discovery. You're only a year or so out from completely quitting your "town job", it will be interesting to see how your self-discovery journey changes over time. Thank you for sharing these deeper thoughts with us, it is helpful.

The process is the goal, not one mood or another. The means are the same as the end. You were miserable and challenged yourself to change. You saved, prepared, researched, and moved. Your skill levels to research, implement and maintain your farm have sky rocketed through the years. Don't sell yourself short. You chose a gritty, challenging new way of life that is intimately connected to nature, life and death.
The criteria for success isn't non-stop happiness, it's trying and doing your best at the time, and then trying to do even better than that. That's your unique contribution, and you've reached out to other people in a way that countless people couldn't and wouldn't. And you are a success at being yourself, financially, physically and emotionally.
Those moments of savoring the weather, your animals, your wife, your home grown food, your videos and postings, your neighbors and friends are all giving you the moments of happiness that punctuate the continuum of life.
Thank you for sharing all this.

As we manifest our desires into this life's existence, as conscious creators, we are always evolving and therefore our desires and dreams will also evolve. It doesn't mean that your previous desires and dreams were wrong, but you will find yourself reaching for more. It's the journey where our happiness lies, for the end will never come, not even when we leave this physicality. If you make yourself miserable by focusing on the "end" that never results, you are missing out on the scenery that is your life from your train window. Become happy with yourself by diving in and getting to know "you" and always follow your bliss. You will empower and inspire others along the way and your happiness will lie within.

Another thing folks believe is that once happiness is achieved, it's a permanent state. It is not.
I have had a wildly varied life with all manner of hobbies I pursued with single-minded focus. I found that I really loved certain aspects of all of them. In the end, I think that despite what we've been taught to expect, we just need to be happy enough. Find something that doesn't suck your soul dry. If you're very fortunate, you can find something that feeds your soul. That's still not going to make your troubled marriage a happy one or make your troubled child perfect, etc.
Life is HARD. That's not a flaw, it's a feature of this "choose your own adventure" experience we call being alive as human beings. Find the space where you're happy enough. Give yourself entirely to the moments of joy that come your way and cherish those memories. Hold close those your love. That's all we can do through troubled times.
Some of us are blessed with good brain chemistry and others are not. I've watched people who have the best brain chemistry destroy their happiness entirely by obsessing over their happiness and why they only have 90% of what they want. They cannot see what they have, only what they don't. I've seen people who wake up every day disappointed they didn't die in the night get up in the morning and, despite their struggles, grab what joy they can find and make the best of it. They leave their loved ones with cherished memories despite the fact that every single day is a day in which they have to choose over and over to appreciate what they have. A Catholic priest once told me that our struggles are blessings from God because they make us stronger, wiser, more compassionate... I hold to that. Sometimes I have to run it on loop in my mind, but I choose to believe it. And in the end, right or wrong, it is what works for me. Your mileage may vary.
Some of us never find that one thing. We look so long and hard for it that we miss the things that could have brought us enough happiness to want to wake up every morning. Some would say that this is wrong, that people should be more than just happy enough. Those folks must have better brain chemistry than I do.
I've been depressed since I was 9 years old. Moments of pure happiness or joy are so infrequent that each one stands out distinctly in my memory. Sometimes I feel like I am drowning and sometimes I feel like there's no point in the struggle. But I have found that I accomplish more by being willing to fail. So many folks are afraid of failure they never try. Try everything. Fail at many things. Find what makes you happy enough and what feeds your soul.
At the end of the day, what I have found is the absolute best gauge of what you're doing is this: are you a better person when you're doing it? If you were snatched up and your life judged by God/your Council of Elders/your Higher Power/etc, would that thing have made a difference in how well you had lived your life. I have told all my young family members the same thing: you can tell if you're in a good relationship if you're a better human being when you're with that person than without that person. It's truly a good way to gauge most things in life.
Best wishes to anyone who has read this comment to the end, lol 😂😂

We love the clip, also with yours and your wife's interview (she is so supportive btw, we love her) although it was too short, this video by far explained Your story better. Thank you for making it clearer, more transparent, and very relatable. As a regular viewer and fan, we saw how this channel started and we are delighted to see it highlighted and appreciated on TV. Just be Yourself(with the t-shirts, and all the fun and natural things you do, continue the great work with all the animals. We love to see some more trees and how the garden is growing, little gooselings running🖒👏🖒👏🖒micro closeups of insects and bees, molly and ginny cameras, abby and toby videos. Thanks a lot😀😀😀

This is amazing! After much dodging and weaving around, I was just beginning to tackle the possibility, that my disabilitating symptoms of weakness and migraines might not budge until I dare work away my traumas... along comes sweet, dear Morgan saying: "yupp, gotta do do that."
Thanks. Another attempt to finding psychiatric help will be undertaken!

Also, when did Amanda get pregnant? The new calfs name should definitely be Betty White.

I just had a baby so I'm super late to everything so 1) Morgan did you lose weight?? 2) I'm feeling this so hard....I don't think I want to start a farm but I need passion back in my life and this comes at a perfect time where I'm questioning what changes I need to make.
Pet all the animals for me....ALL THE ANIMALS! Leave no noggin unpatted! (unless they don't want it - we respect boundaries overhere.)

TRUTHS: Love yourself first (and if you don't, figure out why and fix it so you do). Life isn't fair (it never was, as children we're often sheltered from the unfairness). You make your own luck (by who you associate with and keep in touch with). Don't become an island, for that is how you become lost. (This is a short version of "No Man is an Island" by John Donne.)
