my mum got me into F1 I remember Senna's crash I was 6 and watching it with my mum I saw the crash and her reaction was a horrified gasp it was only when I watched the Senna documentary and they showed the crash that I truly understood the horror and shock it. He was so skilled and talented. Senna and Schumacher were the best F1 drivers and are my favourites its so sad how their lives ended up
I'm really glad to hear these words about Villeneuve from Clarkson. Gilles was from my hometown, but I wasn't born when he was alive. I always heard he was special and all, but from a local perspective, I never really understood how much. Now I'm older and I'm much more passionate about F1, and hearing people like Jeremy talking about him like that... it makes me really proud to be from Quebec. Salut Gilles.
@@zodiac909 Thank you Toronto! Glad to have one of yours in the mix as well!! I'm also a Latifi fan!! He's not at the same level as those legends, but he's still quick and his energy is awesome. The guy's just lovable. I wish him the best.
The greatest of the greatest. If there was a word to describe Senna, it would be used only once in the human history. That's how rare he was. Still is. Forever.
Senna was my hero growing up. I was gutted when he had his accident but all those guys had balls of steel back then and the risks were there for everyone to see. Such a sad loss. RIP Ayrton.
Interesting. Me too. And I'm Brazilian. After his death though, watching videos, movies, etc, I finally understood how good Senna was, as a driver, and as a person.

Duncan Bleak If Villeneuve had lived things could have been very different, he was before my time but hearing drivers of the time talk about how good he was and watching old races, he was phenomenal. Lauda said he was maybe the fastest driver he ever saw but he didn't know if he would have won as many championships as he could have with the talent he possessed because he was never willing to take a loss, he drove to win regardless of circumstances and was very hard on a car. He would drive the wheels off literally to keep himself in the race and never settled for less than victory, sometimes you have to drive for points.
It's considered the best F1 car of all times. It's not about ONLY horsepower, but the design made such huge power under control in times were there were almost none computer or eletronic control in F1 racing.
The day he died 1st May 94 my life descended into chaos, I had to have counseling for a few months and it took a over a year to get back to normal. The only reason I carried on watching F1 was Schumacher, since his retirement I haven't bothered with F1. A big shout out to Schumacher, come on get well soon!!!!!!!

Man, that's probably the best statement I've ever read about Senna
Senna is like watching Da Vinci at work, Villeneuve is like watching Picasso at work

The I4 turbo BMW engine used by Benetton in 86 produced around 1400...
