- PAINTING VIDEO DESCRIPTION - Want to learn how to paint flowers with acrylic paint? Let me be your acrylic art instructor as I teach you easy step-by-step instructions throughout this fun beginner art video as you learn how to paint a pair of purple daisies down by the river with their reflection in the water-a beautiful landscape and flower painting “RIVER DAISIES”. Symbolizing new beginnings, the daisy is a wonderful way to welcome in the new year. Did you make any New Year’s resolutions? I sure did. I do every year. But did you know that 43% of all New Year resolutions fail within a month. I’m sure there are many factors to people’s inability to stick to a goal, but a big reason is because people make unattainable goals. Sure, these personal goals are made with good intentions, but setting too high of a goal may just set you up for failure. I’ve learned over the many years of trial and error to be realistic and to keep it simple. For example, don’t make a resolution to work out six times a week, rather, just set a goal to work out more. Or, instead of saying that you're going to stop eating fried food, simply make it a goal to eat less. That’s the key-make attainable goals you truly know you can achieve, and you’ll be happier for it. For me, I made a really simple and easily attainable goal to just paint as much as I can. So, join me and paint these beautiful iconic flowers and celebrate the beginning of a new year and all the hope and promise that come with it! The painting process is so simple to follow. First, you’ll learn how to paint a background using soft and vibrant colors to capture the viewer’s attention and bring them into the calm and serene landscape. Then, after learning how to draw an outline for your flowers, you’ll apply a simple base coat to work off of. Then you’ll learn how to paint foliage and a river giving your daisies the perfect place to rest. The daisies will come alive with the vines, stems and leaves that drape over the water, casting its own reflection. You'll learn how to create dimension in the shape of the flowers, stems, leaves and petals with a simple layering technique to create contour highlights and shadows that will define the small details. You'll also learn how to create dramatic depth in the background with an easy blended gradient. When painting the flower petals, stems and leaves you'll learn to use both a one brushstroke technique and a carefree impressionistic style to create high contrast in the color variations and tonal values. Use your imagination and customize this to resemble your favorite type of flowers, like roses, irises, lavender, hydrangeas, daffodils, pansies or camellias. The point is to just have fun with it! With the enchanting narrative storybook fantasy that this painting represents, you'll be able to paint this image that will be a little magical and realistic at the same time, making for a beautiful painting to decorate your home all year round with. Using only 3 brushes and 6 colors, you’ll paint like a professional! Have a date night at home, paint party, paint and sip event, or virtual paint night. Paint with gouache, oil paint, or watercolor, any medium will work! Paint just for fun or for art therapy. It's an easy art project. I hope you enjoy watching this UA-cam art video and let's get painting and let's get sipping!

Oh wow! Love to see more purples and blues!! Not sure if you have a Poppy flower tutorial but love them as well... the red Poppy flower looks great on blues too. I wish I could paint as fast as you. I paint a little get distracted by other things while allowing it to dry and it seems to take a few days before I'm done. I also have a tendency to get too detailed. My goal this year is to be more carefree with my painting.

I am really enjoying watching you paint and I love how you explain every detail. Not sure how to go about selling the canvases and pricing them. Any ideas on that? Beautiful work!!!!
Hi Phyllis, thank you for watching my videos. I did an education class on how to price and sell your artwork for my patreon members. Here is the link to the videos: berkshirepaintandsip.squarespace.com/patreon-videos You do have to join my patreon membership if you want to watch the exclusive videos and you can cancel at any time you want. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Michelle so beautiful. Thanks for sharing. When you say your canvas is stretched and prime, do you gesso before painting?
I purchase all my canvases already primed. It's easier for me considering how much I paint. You can use a layer of acrylic gesso if you want added adhesion but it's not necessary if your canvas is already primed when purchased. Have fun!
💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛👍🏿👍🏿
Michelle , this is beautiful as usual. I so love watching and doing your inspirational videos. Can I ask, what kind of paint do you use, it is so fluid and easy to apply.
Thank you again, soon I will update my patriot.
Happy daisies!
Hi Dee, I only use a student grade paint called Blickrylics which you can purchase here: berkshirepaintandsip.squarespace.com/shop Have fun!
😃
Hey Bestie. Nice colors. I love the water reflections. I’m just not getting the prospective. Hows the flower growing? Where’s the stem? Am I just being picky on this one? Maybe I’ve missed it. I did watch the time lapse love the music on it. Bestie you know I love you know matter what the prospective. I have a friend who has a new office. That would look so pretty there. Thanks BBout
Nice bestie! I'm sure your fiend will love it in their new office! It's a mystery from where they grow!
I love this and I've tried it 3 times , I guess my brush is to firm .
Fantastisch lieverd dankjewel dikke knuffel van mij lieverd
When I do more than 1 flower the petals seem to overlap with the other flower pedals how do you keep them from overlapping?
Hi Bloom, I drew an outline for my petals as demonstrated in the step. Drawing them out first can help prevent you from overlapping when painting. I hope this helps.
I wish I could show you my finished painting. What do you use to seal it? Thanks!
Hi Mabel, I have two Facebook pages where people post their paintings. One is a public page for my business "Michelle the Painter from Berkshire Paint and Sip" and the other is a private page called "Michelle's Painting Group". In the private group there are additional art lessons, monthly contests, live classes with me and so much more. If you're interested in gaining access to the private group, you can visit my patreon page at the link below.
I'd love to see your painting!
Also, I usually do not seal my paintings, because when acrylic paint fully cures, it is very durable. However, I do sometimes seal/varnish my paintings for esthetic purposes to bring all of the sheens together. I prefer to use a spray (Grumbacher or Golden) or liquid gloss (Liquitex) varnish. I hope this helps.
