I remember staying in this building when it was (I believe) a Best Western in December 1978. My mom was attending a teachers conference and we drove up from VA Beach. I was so young as to be easily impressed by the breakfast that the staff had for my Mom, Dad and myself. I got bacon and eggs, orange juice, and a little box of Frosted Corn Flakes with Tony the Tiger on the box. Parents restricted sugar cereal so wow what a treat! The building, especially the parking garage, was very well built with reinforced concrete everywhere. Inside, the rooms were clean and modern for the standard of the day. Later in life, from 2017-2019 I would pass by this building every time I drove from work, where I would cross the Key Bridge on my way home to join rt. 110, passing by the hotel. Seeing it every time it would jog my memory of the time I stayed there as a boy. As for all in this world, time marches on.
According to the June 1, 1978 HI guide, a one person stay here would set you back $38 for the night. Pretty pricy in the day! Great job, thanks for posting your videos.
Usually these implosions make the national news but I hadn't seen this. Maybe CDI is so good at their job that there isn't enough risk to make it newsworthy.
Yup.... CDI just doesn't get enough national attention for the achievements they have made in the past. But, all things in their times and places, they will be properly recognized and known, nationally and internationally.
I love how the building folds in on itself. My years in construction tell me it’s not all science. Experience and probably a dose of instinct pulls the plan together.
I stayed there 2 and a half years ago, when attending my first Memorial Day Parade. A group of us Canadian Persian Gulf War Veterans marched with the US Desert Shield/Storm Veterans. I was an amazing experience...
It's getting far away enough from certain events that the conspiracy nuts have moved on to other subjects instead of spamming these videos, so I guess they decided they could re-enable comments. I look at these videos and see how totally differently these buildings come down than other buildings that have collapsed after fire, and conclude that the mechanisms behind them were totally different, but for crazy people, they see what they want to see... Lol
This hotel was money, close to DC with free parking. The breakfast on the top floor was decent for the price. Too bad it's gone. I wonder why it was demolished?
Such a shame it had to go. We pulled restaurant equipment out of the kitchens there months before the demo. The top floor restaurant had such a great panoramic view of the river and surrounding area. Neat old hotel.

Amazing skill! Wow!
A thing of beauty, sirs. A perfect shot!
My favorite hotel, and probably the last one around DC with free parking.
Well done.
That was an enjoyable collapse to watch. It folded in on itself perfectly. Great job CDI
I remember staying at that hotel in the 90’s. Explosive cutting of the floor cables and the building falls down. Very nice job.
So satisfying to watch these blowdowns. I am also happy that your crews can still work in this rotten year!
THATS MY DAD
Nice Work !!
Another successful job without injuries or damage. Maybe that's why your company sets the "Standards" when demolition is the best option
Incredible demo!!! That building came down perfectly!! Very enjoyable to watch!
Awesome! Truly, perfection taken to a level of art!
now, that's how you get rid of bed bugs!

Amazing! Thanks so much for sharing.
Beautifully executed!
Absolutely awesome professional work.
👍🏼 A masterpiece! Great audio, too! Thank you for posting! 😎
You guys are so amazing at what you do! Thanks for posting the videos. I wish I had something that needed to be imploded just to have your team do it!

Good video!
is there anyway you could provide the exact time of 'fire' ?
8:00 AM
Dont think it could have been done better. Gotta love engineers who know how to knock things down!
Amazing.........obviously very well planned.
THAT IS POETRY IN MOTION!!!
Good job.
The first time CDI actually did not disable comments.
I bet it is only due an oversight

"How to Fold Your Hotel for Easy Transportation"
Why is there the flag from Berg Demo instead of a flag of CDI?
Berg Demo is in charge of the demo, and CDI is a subcontractor.
@@briangardiner1015 still should have had CDI and ACM signs on it
@@briangardiner1015 Thnx for your answer, that makes it a lot more clear. But a flag of CDI would be nice though.
Amazing, so controlled and tight 😉
Wow that's cool love your work CDI!
Another job well done 👏
Beautiful job as always
Perfect.
I must say Well Done!

That's gotta be a huge dust storm to clean up. Love the videos
The fallen building is SO compact you could just pick up the whole thing and throw it in the dump experience pays off
I've stayed at this hotel a few times. They had a terrible fruit-fly problem in the top floor restaurant. Guess that's over now.
Not going to be the first implosion in Rosslyn. They have plans to replace several buildings in the next year or two.
That was beautiful!!!
This reminds me of what happened with the Frontier in Las Vegas.
Awesome! Thanks!
I stayed in this building in 1989. I wonder what will go up in it's place?
Beautiful.
Damn. And I was just gonna book a room for the weekend.
Very cool!!!...🤙😎🤘
Cool demolition
Cool video
Flawless Victory..

Gravity & well-placed, well-timed explosives create wonderful video entertainment. Thanks, CDI !
Good job taking down that garbage building.
I stayed there many a night. Having a little to much to drink to drive home, I walked across my bridge to a very nice hotel.
My life saver
It always amazes me that these professionals can bring a huge building down in it's own footprint. Amazing!!!
That was an awesome job guys
0:28 Fire In The Hole!!!

I LOVE OLD BUILDINGS & ARENA/STADIUM IMPLOSION.
i was there! woke up very early just to watch it. was incredible in person, even though i took video from a little further away
Huh, seems the Washington DC Metropolitan Area is quite busy these days.
I used to work in Rosslyn. That little place is changing so fast that soon there will be no single family homes left.
I love yall videos.
Can you do the BB&T Towers In Wilson North Carolina
'Tis a thing of beauty!
Demolition was perfect and the building that replaces it will be better.
Beautiful. Just Beautiful. Superb skills. Max respect to CDI !!!

Nice demolition!
Surreal how the buidling seems to liquify after that last detonation.
I love how the building seems to just melt down, awesome work.
Beauty!
