Prices will definitely go up, not because of tarifs, but because of money creation of the FED. It's lower interest rates that makes borrowing cheaper which makes money creation bigger. Tarifs do not much for higher prices.
The reliability of Datsun, Honda, Toyota, Mazda and smaller cars did turn markets to Japanese cars. Am afraid that if my finances were limited, even a European car would be out of the question. They will lose their competitive edge in the market for sure...And maybe American made Chainsaws will be selling more....but buying them will be way more expensive... The choice is: Are you willing to pay more to buy American made?
American vehicles have those difficultly in other markets like Europe and japan because they dont meet emission requirements, if they did then those tariffs don't matter as they're cancelled out for the most part. Tariffs will cause a good amount of damage people, mark my words. Only in industries like steel and iron is where tariffs tend to have a positive effect but only when applied strategically not just with a "plan" taken out of your behind. I hope people wake up when they start to notice higher prices when and if tariffs are implemented, and they will. Tax cuts for the middle class are fine but for the top percentile thats an issue, it'll literally raise inflation and make a bigger deficit nationally.
Wrong, they can adjust to our European emission requirements. If Ford can do it, so can all the rest. Tariffs will be benefitial for USA, combined with tax cuts. First they will make Chinese and other importers less competitive, while American companies will then have less expenses with labour due to tax cuts, resulting in cheaper and more competitive products. Also to remember, during Trump's first administration China payed (subsidized) for 80% of the tariffs. Tax cuts will also cause the buying power of Americans to go up, especially if wage growth outpaces inflation. Tax cuts don't raise inflation, the FED and commercial banks do that by printing dollars out of thin air. And tax cuts don't necessarily create deficits. When Trump's tax cut went into effect in 2018, all the experts claimed that would cause a 4.6 trillion dollar deficit over the next 10 years. What actually happened? The very next year federal income tax revenue and payroll tax revenue increased. The deficit came from overspending, and that is why this time around Trump has put Elon and Vivek in to drastically reduce federal spending. If they succeed in doing that, I predict USA will have a budget surplus this coming year or the next.
None of this matters in 5 years when the US has north of 30% unemployment and disruption starts. Pay attention to the labor force participation rate dropping consistently every month soon. We will surpass covid participation in about a year and it will speed up from that point
The EU generally applies a 10% tariff on imported passenger cars from non-EU countries, including the United States. no high tarrif in Europe USA cars lost in europe because EU cars are better
During Trump’s first terms there was a 10% tariff on aluminum and steel from Canada. This lasted one day before Canada decided to give in. If countries are not treating the USA fairly, then by all means use tariffs as a threat/tool in trade negotiations. We are sanctioning Russia and others currently. Almost all of the tariffs from Trump 1.0 remained in placed or were increased under Biden. The USA received more money from tariffs under Biden than Trump. There isn’t two dramatically different USA trade policies.
Passenger Cars: The EU applies higher tariffs (10%) compared to the U.S. (2.5%). Commercial Vehicles: The U.S. applies significantly higher tariffs (25%) than the EU. This has been the source of very difficult negotiations for years. This is totally different from what has been said in this show... More disinformation from PBD and his friends, as usual...

I am not now and never have been a fan of tariffs. Smoot-Hawley didn't in and of itself launch the Great Depression, but it certainly was a major contributing factor to it. I think I understand Trump's motivation for using tariffs. We Conservatives have kneeled at the altar of Free Trade for decades, ignoring the fact that "free" is only part of the equation: trade must also be "fair". Trump is right in that many, if not most, countries engage in free but unfair trade with us, and that needs to be addressed. Trump has stated that he wants to use tariffs or the threat of tariffs as a negotiating tool to compel other countries to lower their barriers to trading with us, with an eye towards lowering the rate of tariffs in place or removing them entirely. Will it work? I do not know. But what I do know is that what we've been doing for decades has absolutely NOT worked for us.

Non imported goods and raw materials won't go down cuz they will price matched imported alternatives.
We don't buy American cars because they are Extreme gas guzlers and poor quality. Tarrifs will not change that. Ford is actually one of the big brands in Europe but they produce locally.
Tariffs DON’T WORK! It causes higher prices and in the long run the local companies invest less to remain competitive. Just look what happened in Brazil during the 70s/80s. 👎🏻
Could have picked better examples. The tariffs on US cars in Europe are like 10%.
People don't buy American cars because they have a bad reputation.
True, this channel spreads propaganda just to fit their political narrative, misinforming their audience
Might make Americans pay less! 😂😂😂😂 Tariffs benefit only corporations forcing the competition out of business by making their products more expensive no benefits for the consumer .
Thats why USA has a big debt. Its the world debt😮 OMG this shit about to crash 😂😂😂😂
Sometimes the product itself sells. Having a car that needs no fixing at all for 10 years and more is a big selling point. A worldwide drive to excellence is a good aspect of competition.
This is like threatening your neighbor that has a loaded gun with a loaded gun and hoping that no one shoots each other. these guys are ignorant. They way you hurt a country with tariffs is don’t buy their products but Americans love to consume foreign autos. In the end, American consumers will subsidize American workers with limited selection of poor quality. Study history folks.
Problem is if Ford or gmc or chevy sold good cars we would not buy else where.
Some of the worst cars
@@TheTopPercentthopefully real competitive markets here and abroad will drive these company’s to produce good vehicles again
@@TheTopPercentt it's on purpose. Everything these days is designed with faults on purpose to increase the recurring transactions. If they sold you a car that worked you'd never come back until it died. That doesn't help their profit quota.
Ford's are sold all over Europe. So this notion Ford or GM are not available in Europe is nonsense and they're not heavily taxed either.
They want American trucks in Europe, Asia and all over the world. However, it is not practical bc those places don't have large roads amd parking lots as in the u.s. I mean, look even those countries presidential motorcades, you don't see 3 rows SUVs in the convoy as in the u.s. Trump fanatics are delusional. They risk to just isolate the u.s in some way

The tariff on US automobiles imported into Japan is 0%.

Tariffs = Leverage

Especially so since everyone wants to sell in our market.

5:45 - Guys this route is going to backfire on the U.S. It's because of the U.S's use of Tariffs on other nations is going to cause the need for a BRICS, Look at the change in the way China and Russia are starting to trade. If the U.S. manufactured there own stuff, it would be too crazy for companies to hold a proper competing profit margin
I saw a documentary on tariffs from the early 1900s. There were no taxes, but the government was Building Bridges roads many things with just tariffs.
That's correct... Income taxes are a lie to ensure the masses can't unseat the bankers and politicians
AMERICA FIRST 👏👏
How can America compete against countries where the wages are 4 or 5 times less? If workers in China make let say a chainsaw... earning 7$/hour compare to American workers earning 20$/hour... What will happen if Trump slaps the Chinese Chainsaw with a 60% tariff? They will lose their competitive edge in the market for sure...And maybe American made Chainsaws will be selling more....but buying them will be way more expensive... The choice is: Are you willing to pay more to buy American made?
If they are already not buying our cars, will making the price higher incentivize them to buy it?
Knowing the Cantor Fitzgerald CEO is in the mix makes me happy every day
American vehicles have those difficultly in other markets like Europe and japan because they dont meet emission requirements, if they did then those tariffs don't matter as they're cancelled out for the most part.
Target prices are already high
I would do that deal all day, every day, 24/7. Amen to that brother!

The EU generally applies a 10% tariff on imported passenger cars from non-EU countries, including the United States.

Good episode. A lot is in the air and hopefully things work in the favor of the majority of Americans.
But damn, don't take away my Benz! 😂😂
So... the free Capitalist PBD is accepting that regulations from government are neccesary.

Stability is a result of our economy's struggles with uncertainty, housing issues, foreclosures, global volatility, and the pandemic's consequences. To restore stability and promote growth, all sectors must respond quickly to concerns about growing inflation, slow growth, and trade disruptions.
Consider hiring financial advisors, estate planners or tax experts. They can provide specialized knowledge and help you navigate complex financial decisions.
Having an investment advisor is currently the best way to approach the stock market. I was going alone, but it wasn't working. I've been working with an advisor for a while now, and last year, I achieved over 85% capital growth minus dividends
This is definitely considerable! think you could suggest any professional/advisors i can get on the phone with? i'm in dire need of proper portfolio allocation
Certainly, there are a handful of experts in the field. I've experimented with a few over the past years, but I've stuck with ‘’Sophia Maurine Lanting’’ for about two years now, and her performance has been consistently impressive. She’s quite known in her field, look-her up.
I just googled her name and I'm really impressed with her credentials; I reached out to her since I need all the assistance I can get. I just scheduled a call.

holy crap you do a great Trump impersonation
