A men's product brand that you might appreciate is Oak City Beard company that makes things like solid cologne, beard oil, etc. I wonder if a small company like that would be interested in doing sponsorships but it would be cool to see on this channel. I'm a big fan of their solid cologne with their unique scents that are still "manly" but many are distinct from many other "manly" brand's scents.

barefoot shoes, shoes that manufacturers can really charge you for all the money in the world with the buyers not really feeling getting overcharged even if they put in the least amount of material and effort to it.

It's true they'll take a 20 dollar swim shoe, make the toebox wider and charge 120 for it.

True, but as long as it remains niche, the prices are arguably justified because hey, they're the ones supplying it while others might not be, or are doing so less frequently.
As they become more mainstream, prices should theoretically go down

My boss tells me the company will buy them for me but if I like just doing it myself because new shoes every 3 months has fixed most of my back, hip and foot problems. I order from the manufacturers and you can get something on sale for a good price till your company gets your annual pair. If you have any back or hip pains i recommend it if you can afford it

I’ve tried about 10 different safety shoes, throughout the last 6 years and the Ariat WorkHog Work Boots have really been refined and have the best/most comfy shoe I have found, they have wide toes and have a bottom that feels more like a running shoe to me. But can cost a little more than 150 but way worth if your okay with a heavier boot. Personally I can’t notice the weight.

It's wild how you can go down into the 30's and 40's for gym slippers/shoes, and you can go all the way up to 200 bucks. I really would have liked to see you test out cheap options like Whitin's which are around 40 bucks. I'm sure there's a sweet spot where you're not replacing the shoes super frequently, but you're not breaking the bank.
With specialized shoes like squat shoes, I expect to pay a bit, but you can get them on sale for a more reasonable price. With everyday shoes that I wear constantly, I absolutely have no issue spending decent money for a shoe that will last a while. When it comes to a gym shoe that isn't going to be used for running or a lot of walking, that's when I find it tough to justify spending hundreds of dollars on a shoe that just has to be able to make it through most basic lifts outside of squats. I'm going to start with the cheap ones, and if the glue holds for long enough, that's awesome, and if I find them separating after 6 months, then I'll look at bumping up to the 70-100 range.

Love your videos but I gotta ask, what the deal with the baggy pants in all the b roll? They make it harder to see how the shoes look on foot, and they completely clash with most of these shoes. I would’ve preferred to see them on foot paired with shorts (cause gym shoes) and it also would been cool to see them with a variety of outfits, especially ones that highlight the shoes design features and the environments they’ll be worn in.

"Is there a reason why most shoes come with a pointed toe box?" Yes, it's called fashion and aesthetics. Most people buy shoes a part of their overall wardrobe rather than for specific tasks (running, standing, being at the gym), and most people tend to find a pointed toe box more aesthetically pleasing. Correspondingly, many anatomical toeboxes look like "clown shoes".

It's niche economics. You have a small population of customers (those wanting barefoot gym shoes) that have high demand for a low production volume product. And the initial cost to the producer for tooling up to make a niche shoe line is quite high. But those high setup costs can't be distributed among a massive customer base due to the product being niche. So ultimately, you end up with high per-shoe costs.

Ok, never mind, too flimsy for street shoes. Never will catch me using those for calf raises, or running, lol.

Apart from the leather pair they all look plastic, wouldn't you get the same benefit from a pair of leather sandals or moccasins.

Man I love your channel and all you do, and I’m a huge fan of fitness shoes… pretty upsetting. Who decided the shoes being reviewed? None are in the top 5 most popular choices, and these are all unwearably ugly. I couldn’t finish the video. That’s a first for me.

Wesson seems to have a "thing" for it. I mean, he collaborated on a barefoot boot design recently.
