  • In this video, we travel to one of the most scenic towns we've ever been to. With a waterfall slowly dispersing into mist as it falls down one of the cliff faces, Lauterbrunnen is an idyllic gem nestled in a huge valley. Located in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland, is famous for its 72 waterfalls, including the Staubbach Falls, one of the highest free-falling waterfalls in Europe. We used the first day to get our bearings within the town. We also get a look at the local prices for cooking our dinner. While specific prices can vary, groceries and dining out in Switzerland tend to be expensive compared to many other countries. It's alot more economical to cook your own meals if you're staying in accommodation with kitchen facilities.
On the second day, we take a trip to Grindelwald, a beautiful place to go for a hike. Also located in the Bernese Oberland, Grindelwald offers stunning views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau mountains. You can take the gondola up to First and go around the cliff walk, a hair-raising platform around the cliff's edge where you can really appreciate the view. The First Cliff Walk is a thrilling walkway that includes a suspension bridge, a cliff-side walkway, and a viewing platform, providing spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The gondola ride from Grindelwald to First takes about 25 minutes and provides breathtaking views of the landscape below. If that's not to your taste, you can always visit the café atop the mountain and get whatever you fancy.
On the way down we also run into "best ever food review" on the way back from first who seemed like a great guy.
