What kind of wood carving set do you use. I want to do something with my life, and your videos inspire me.
The woodcarving set i use cost a lot. But it pays off, because this carvingtools last very long.
Most time i use StubaiTools: (www.stubai.com/index.php/en/woodworkingtools/serie-52-k) or Pfeil-Tools: (www.pfeiltools.com/en/products.html).
bin Technischer Modellbauer von Beruf aber das haut auch mich von den socken. Ist mal was ganz anderes zum 3D druck und ultra geil. so eine kunst muss man aber auch im Blut haben.

yes, they are wearable. I alway try to make it thin as possible. I should only color it, pad it and put a fur on the back. After completion, it's a "Krampus" mask.

Yes, I know it exists rarely mask videos. I'm actually carving a another mask the last days, it is finished in few days. I upload the video directly after.

Did this start from 3 pieces of wood? Ar they glued together? How does that work!?
Yes i have glued it together. I buying boards and planing it on a table planer. After that i glue it together and force them together with a clamp.

Danke! Aktuell nehme ich generell keine Aufträge an. Zuerst muss die Werkstatt und eine Dusche fertiggestellt werden. Aufgrund des Lockdowns is es aktuell schwierig an das Material dafür zu kommen.

Ich verwende haupsächlich Zirbe. Schnitzeisen sind normalerweise relativ teuer, da sie sehr lange halten. Vielleicht gibt irgendwo jemand einen gebrauchten Satz günstiger her. Hauptsächlich verwende ich PFEIL oder STUBAI Schnitzeisen.

WieselRobot Hallo wo bekommst du die holzblöcke her ?
Ich kaufe meistens das Holz von einem Sägerwerk, besuch dann eine Tischlerei um sie anzuhobeln. Anschliessend schneide und leime ich sie je nach Bedarf zuhause zusammen.
Für diese Jahr ist geplant einen kompletten Stapel frisches Holz zubestellen, um es zuhause selbst lufttrocknen. So spare ich mir ein wenig Geld.

Currently I sell the work of art only to the customer.
I take orders only in my environment (Austria) because I would like to consult with the quest givers in person.

+Torwulf games I do not know what wood near is cheap at you and goes well to carve. I use Limewood or Stone pine. Both grow near me in Austria. :)
I started in the school with a simple bowl.
Later a mask or a simple modern sculture. After that you can try a Relief.

Pine, Birch, Spruce and lindon (Tilia, Basswood are other names for it) are cheap in my area.

Tilia (Lime, Basswood, ...) is a good woodcarving wood. Stone pine (Pinus cembra) is the only good pine. If you want to still use pine, then anything having an fine grain. Never use Spruce.

WieselRobot Sorry if I seem a bit vague on the terms. Is there a clamp or vice part of the table? How is the carving block mounted virtically?? THANK YOU for taking the time to answer all my questions. I'd hate to spend a ton of money of the wrong tools.
I use a table without a clamp or a vice. I found an example today table here:

The table is height adjustable and swiveling.

kleiner tipp zum aushöhlen verwedmnde ein predd und mach die maske daran an:-)
"verwedmnde" soll wahrscheinlich "verwende" heißen und "predd" höchstwarscheinlich "Brett".
Aber was solls ;D ... Die maske wird relativ dünn ausgehöhlt, daher ist ein Brett draufschrauben sehr unpraktisch und hinterlässt Löcher. Trotzdem danke für dein Feedback!
