Welcome to our great city, mate! If you want a really good night drive, I'd like to suggest doing the West Gate Freeway at night. You go over the West Gate Bridge giving you a wonderful view of the city, and then you end up driving past skyscraper lights in Southbank.
For the life of me I really don't see what's so great or special about this place. It looks like your regular run of the mill American downtown, but certainly not on the level of Manhattan or Downtown Chicago.
@@gracedagostino5231 I'll be honest with you, the locals are an odd bunch. Give me one other city in the world where the locals treat it like it's the second coming of god. Just about everyone here constantly rubbish-talks Sydney and tries everything to be better than them, and tell a Melbournian you want another city and they'll say "best city in the world" on repeat. Tram lines aren't really difficult to navigate. They are either just part of the road and marked as such or there are physical barriers where you couldn't drive on them if you wanted to. Hook turns can be pretty intimidating. But You can pretty much avoid them as they are only at specifically marked intersections. Just might have to take a longer route to get where you need to go. Caveat: this is from an American who last drove in Melbourne in 2016.

Why does a city need to be like Manhattan or Chicago to be classified as good? He is just driving around downtown at 7am. This is the cultural capital of Australia. This is like seeing 5 percent of what the city is about. Melbourne has a large network of neighbourhoods that don't get featured in this video. I live in a historic neighbourhood outside of the downtown area, and the vibe is much different.
Lol, he did go to the heart of downtown. He drove past Flinders Street Station, and Federation Square. This city won 7 years in a row the world's best city, and it didn't look that attractive to me. I have also seen those neighborhoods, and their full of unattractive graffiti. The river itself is not that scenic or beautiful.
