Thanks for the video! We have a Purple Mattress which is 12 inches thick. the existing purple mattress cover that comes with the bed is made of a slippery fabric that when covered with a mattress protector causes the protector to slip and slide and thus the sheets don't stay put. The store that we purchased the mattress from recommended a cover that was $250 but wouldn't guarantee that it wouldn't slip, and, the cover is non returnable. We would also like some added insulating value as our room is quite cool in the winter and the mattress pulls the heat out of you. we are currently using a double sized fleece blanket as a mattress protector/warmer until we find a solution. Any similar experiences or suggestions would be appreciated.
Wow, this was so informative. Though I still have a few queries. Are mattress protectors and covers the same thing? And are mattress protectors of two types- With zips on the side and the other which is like a fitted sheet with elastic? Or are they two different things?

I just need something light and washable, to protect the mattress from occasional "Oopsies."
