Love your Fav Five series because I always meet a new designer, and usually want to knit at least one item. Thank you for including size inclusive patterns in your selections. Knitter's come in all shapes and sizes. 💞
I agree! I love always find some new designers that don’t tend to come up in the top of my Ravelry searches in these Fave Five videos. I also appreciate the consideration for those with accessibility issues.
All shapes, sizes, skill levels, allergies ... lol. I can't cover everything but I try to be considerate. I am so glad you find these videos useful and fun.
The Ravelry algorithm heavily favors and promotes the "popular" designers. I deliberately choose designers who might not get much love from the search engine.
Ponchos, of course! Great idea to combine with the wheelchair theme. I didn't have time until now to watch the Live, but since you mentioned the discussion here I went over to the video to see that side, too. It was really interesting and I learned some things as well, since I'm pretty new to using a wheelchair. In terms of learning, all the lace I get to see on your channel reminds me I neet to learn how to knit from charts. Not that it is an absolute necessity, but it's always nice to learn new stuff. The Amaliya Capelet with the matching hat and mittens is so cute! Reminds me of something.. I guess in a mossy green it would fit right in with the landscapes of Ireland. In Autumn Beauty catched my eye the most this time. Would be a great project for leftover yarns. It's a shame that only a few people knitted it until now. The Hearts in Chains looks like a modern celtic pattern, really nice. I guess the sides could be made a similar length to another if the rectangle is knitted slimmer (less rows of plain knitting) and with two or three more hearts in length? Thank you and have a nice day!
Hi Barbara! I love lace and have crochet many many lace ponchos and shawls. I am a new knitter and want to learn to knit lace. I purchased your book as my birthday gift to me 😁 Thanks for the video it has inspired me.
Love this series to discover new designers as the vast universe is sometimes overwhelming. How about doing a fave five in all colours of the rainbow. Leaving the other categories open.
Wow - not-your-grandma's-poncho! LOL. I got a couple of poncho patterns when I first accelerated my knitting (like Michael's store-yarn free pull-one-off patterns and about 20 years ago). Whole new poncho world now - and it's much nicer! Thanks for the mini-tour. And, it gave me some ideas for questions for the next live stream I can make (whenever that is - I keep having conflicts!)
Gorgeous selection, thank you Barbara. I have a suggestion. Cardigans for the fuller bust. Total thinking of myself, but as a lady (? 😂) with a fuller but I struggle to find a pattern that isn't just a box shape. I might as well knit a poncho or capelet. Take care and keep safe. xxJane
No pattern is hard. Good luck on your next attempt! edited: I just re-read this and realized it could be taken more than one way. I missed the Katia part of it in that was the name of the pattern and thought you weren't using a pattern. Then I was saying that not using a pattern is hard. But then I realized those few words could be read as that there are no hard patterns, and that's simply not true and not want I intended. My apologies.

@@WatchBarbaraKnit Thank you for doing this!
fave five fingerless mitts would be interesting
It is now on the list!
One idea for a Fave Five -- patterns to use up leftovers or scraps!
Indeed! Always in search of those, great idea.
This one is from 2018 so I could probably make a new one, but I have one! ua-cam.com/video/b889TXhchIM/v-deo.html
I would enjoy a scrappy yarn project part 2 as well!
@@WatchBarbaraKnit Thank you! Watched it and added to my Ravelry favorites!
I've been staring at poncho and cape knitting patterns for weeks on end now and I want to knit all of them 🥺
Well, guess it's time to get started LOL!

You will be a lace champ in no time!
Cool selection! Some of the patterns changed my mind about ponchos.
Yay!
Oh wow, they’re all lovely. I especially like the yellow one, but all are wonderful. Thanks for sharing these ponchos!
I am so glad you enjoyed the video!

I Love Ponchos
They are super fun!

Make some notes, I love questions!

I don't really know how to search for that, but I will see what I can figure out.
Nice picks! Thank you for sharing...🤗
You are so welcome!
Hi Barbara! I’ve never worn a poncho before, but I love the style and drape of the Ribbon Weave poncho and can see myself wearing it!
I love all of her patterns!
Have you talked about Tencel? Swatches or good patterns to use ?
Not specifically. It isn't a fiber I have a lot of experience with, but I can put it on the list!
Great collection! I found a new to me designer to fan girl over - Yumiko Alexander. Such beautiful designs you picked, Barbara :-).
I am such a fan girl!
Fav 5 ideas. What about stuffed animals, or baby gifts?
It is now on the list!
i really wish this videos were more frecuent, thanks so much i love fave 5
They are actually a lot of work, I don't know that I could manage more than one a month LOL.
Hi Barbara
Hi Harlee! I hope you enjoyed the video!
