Ocarina of time always passionated me since I was 8 years old.
I grow up with this game and Majora's mask but still now I question myself about deep stories of characters we never think about.
For exemple how Link came in the kokiris forest ? What could be his reaction when he'll understand the story of his mom and what she did to save him ?
In the mangas Link question himself about the fact he doesn't have a fairy. He think he is different but he doesn't have much answers.
I tried to give him one.
Link do not talk right ? But he can communicate. I always had in mind that he can write. That's why at the end he write thank you to the Deku Tree for revealing this story.
Even if it was painfull he had to know the truth. Also I really wanted to see Link have an emotional reaction to this.
I hope you'll enjoy it. It was really hard to do emotionnaly. I even cried myself while making this video but it was worth.
This video is very special for me because I also lost my mom years ago and every mom is a gift.

I remember a REALLY Old episode of a Nintendo magazine where they had a comic about it where we even see his father getting axed in the chest. He was a Hyrulian Knight of high stand. He asked his wife to run with their child and she did while he got killed. She then entered the forest but because she was already an adult she became one of the forests trees.
This comic was...i dont know like 20 years ago, i still remember it pretty clearly ^^'

To anyone who is going to criticize Nintendo for not making the scene look like this, you got to keep in mind that not all developers can express their characters because of the consoles limitations, But overtime, Nintendo is starting to learn how to express their characters. We can’t be harsh on a company that back at the day, didn’t express the characters enough.

Like you I grew up playing ocarina of time and Majora's mask. Whenever I saw the scene of Link`s origins being revealed to him it would hurt my heart because his reaction would be so stone faced. I would always wonder what his true reaction would`ve been and you have done a beautiful job of showing how pure hearted link was as a child before his heart was changed by the his destiny . I would have loved to have seen link be able to visit his mother`s resting place, but your version of him finding out the truth of his birth so young and of his mom`s soul comforting him and him show gratitude in the end was perfect. It always felt like my favorite hero of time had lost a big part of himself as an adult. Watching your vid makes it feel like if a scene like this had been in the game it would have saved a part of link that he loses. In all thank you for such a beautiful job in the retelling of the truth of the hero of time's birth. I will be watching hopefully again and again for years to come.

@@CY3ERUS Are we talking about writing or animations?
I'm also going to need examples of what outclasses OoT.
I am thinking from a visual and animation standpoint. As much as I love the N64, it's ugly as hell. The most expressive game I can think of would be Paper Mario. Maybe Conker at a close second. But both of those were at the end of the N64's lifespan, when dev's knew how to push the N64 to it's limits.
Other than that, you got some blocky motherfuckers with mostly static textures.

    • @xJC4Rx
      @xJC4Rx 5 років тому

@@CY3ERUS Majora, and Perfect Dark were released 2 years after. Banjo wasn't overly expressive, a few dialogue animations like scratching himself, but Banjo was just good writing. Perfect Dark had gorgeous environments but the character models were emotionless textures just like GoldenEye 64 was. Perfect Dark and Majora also had the expansion pak to help out. RE2 had the gift of pre rendered cutscenes, but it was lucky to end up on the N64 to begin with, it wasn't designed for the N64.
I'm not trying to fanboy over OoT, I just don't see a giant difference between these examples. They are all old ass products of their time who had the awkward learning phase of trying to adapt to 3D.. There are definitely cute touches and improvements when comparing the quality of Majora and OoT, but they still feel like they're in the same ball park.

You really improved allot @RwanLink !!!
Im sure you will in the future reach something big, if not it would be a shame, because you put so much work at such things!
In the past the only critique I had was in some scenes the facial expressions sometimes to slow or too stiff but you really became better in it!
The people seem more alive more fluid, but I’m seeing that can reach even more than this in the future so never give up on it 💕

      RwanLink I see it !
So much detail you put into this is so admirable and people can learn allot through your videos!
But I may give you advise, from experience from the other spectrum of art, don’t set it to high st moment when you work on the videos.
As much it’s helps with improvement it can also go very wrong ....
It’s also important that you keep enjoy what you do and sometimes going back to the basics and study...
Do never let push yourself finish something faster then your comfort....
It can take away the joy of doing art :(
I know what I’m talking about because sadly I set the bar to high try to prove myself to others and in the long run it makes you unhappy when you just started it because of the fun...

I love how much your sense of cinematography has improved. Your cameras still need a bit better of an ease out in some cases.
Keep doing what you love there, and I hope you get professional gigs with it.

My guess is you are saying that Link forgets this and is reminded by the Deku Sprout, it would be a nice follow up

Hi all. Wonderful job. Link's mom might have reborn into Saria. Many reasons lead me to this. Only Saria seems to get interest to Link, following his evolution. She knows that Link is not like the other Kokiris. She knows that he would leave Koriri Forest, and gives him the Kokiri ocarina before him to return to Hyrule.
