Salt To taste
Vada curry

Bengal gram dal 150 gm
Fennel seeds 1 tsp
Bay leaf 2 no
Cinnamon stick 1 stick
Cloves 4 no
Onion 1 no big
Green chilli 3 no
Curry leaf 1 string
Ginger garlic paste 1tsp
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Kashmiri Chilli powder 1/4 tsp
Coriander 2 tbs
Salt to taste
Oil to fry
Mint 1 tbs
Cardamon. 2 pcs
ginjili oil. 1 tsp

Idiyappam and vadacurry.....This dish as I had promised earlier, I cooked today as per your demo. Worked out to be a very fantastic dish especially Vadacurry. This dish is not new to me. This is my favourite item and I had been longing to prepare this dish, but I was not in a position to get an authentic recepe so far. Your recepe and your genuine demo has relieved me of my anxiety. This was a spontaneous hit among my family members.The combination of Idiyappam and vadacurry was great. Idiyappam also came out very well. Thanks once again for sharing this wonderful recepe. One more correction in your ingredients description...No tomatoes are mentioned. You can re-redit. All the best👍👍👍😋😋😋

Chef Sundar, I’ve never ever heard of idiyappam and vada curry. Always eaten in all restaurants idlis or poori and vada curry. Sometimes with set dosa you might get vada curry with khurma. I am die hard fan and cook for vada curry but this is one combination of yours that in my eating vada curry for 39 years and cooking it for 27 years I have never come across.

Most of us add either coconut milk or paste to vadacurry
What is the reason for skipping coconut , chef?
Usually the hotel version avaid coconut as tha vada itself would be a leftover ingredient.

Your recepe Idiyappam and Vada curry ......seems a unique combination. Your demo is fantastic and easy to follow, but nevertheless please clarify where to use coconut oil which you had mentioned in the ingredients description. Your demo does not mention this. Can you pls.clarify as I am planning to cook this 2moro😊

You forgot to mention that the water used to soak vada curry base should be hot. Cold water will change its texture of it. Won't taste nice.
You can use normal room temperature water.
