As an ”insider” in the Finnish death metal scene, I never would’ve thought that Disguised Malignance would get this much recognision from far abroad. I’ve been waiting for this album for almost a year now
shit im in florida which most people have always looked at as the death metal capital but from someone that actually lives here i gotta say you guys got us beat by miles. so much killer shit from finland right now
Disguised Malignance sounds a lot like that other young Finnish band Cryptic Hatred. Keep 'm coming, Finland! Other interesting releases this month for those who prefer death-doom: Fossilization - Leprous Daylight (on Everlasting Spew) + Thorn - Evergloom (on Transcending Obscurity)
I didn't know the band Moonlight Sorcery. The "In coldest embrace" song is EPIC and also "The Moonlit Dance of the Twisted Jester's Blood-soaked Rituals" (great guitar solo).
5:01 “Finland’s like the best Metal country and I also just need to celebrate when I can find 8 Finnish musicians in 1 month that I can’t link to a hate group in 4 clicks.” Fucking lol.
Moonlight Sorcery's next album and Fortid's next album in october are probably my most anticipated albums for the remainder of this year. Other big releases launching later this year: Primordial - How it ends, Wayfarer - American Gothic, Shining - Shining and Myrkur - Spine. There are always some surprise releases though.
You guys should all check out Convergence " Extinction Level Event " One of the best underground death metal/ thrash albums of the year that's under the radar...their album is on UA-cam and it absolutely rips...
That Farscape album has a bit of a Voivod feel to me. Good stuff. Also, Kerrigan seem cool as hell! And not racist or anything!! Thanks for the video, Blayne. See ya Sunday.
@@Astral_Wave to be fair they put Godsmack in the nu metal bracket and they're just a heavy rock band Lots of bands get put in brackets they really don't belong to, I don't class Tool as prog either, I bloody love em saw them earlier in the year at the 02 arena in London, jaw dropping
Wormhole is putting out a new record on 9/22, and the singles they’ve put out have been absolutely killer. The vibes are very Disentomb, definitely check it out if you like brutal death metal with dissonance.
This is definitely huge month for releases. Really looking for Terminalist, their last albu mwas incredible! I also want to shout out Ice Giant: Ghost of Humanity out next week, and from this week I have to shout out the debut album from Outergods: A Kingdom Built upon the Wreckage of Heaven.
The new Woe album "Legacies of Frailty" is my most anticipated album of the month, although that Moonlight Sorcery is amazing, too, and I'll definitely be picking it up.
5:02 I fully agree with you that the best metal comes from finland. Especially black and death metal. Black metal. Satanic Warmaster, Goatmoon, Warmoon lord, Horna, Sargeist, Morgal, Havukruunu, Goats of doom, Norrhem, Sielunvihollinen, Nattfog, Victimarum, Behexen, Sarastus, Antimateria, Ymir, Norns, Hammer, Nocturnal Sorcery, Thy serpent, White Death. And Archgoat and Blood Chalice (i consider them Bestial/War metal) Death metal. Galavnizer, Sadistic Drive, Morbific, Demilich, Cadaveric incubator, Disguised malignance, Gorekauat, Azatoth, Cryptic hatred, Malformed, Devil's vomit
The Moth - Frost, my album of the year so far🙂🎉🎉🎉. Everything is perfect on this album. The dark bass in the background, the catchy but dark riffing, an eerie mid pitched vocal. This album positiones itself among the classics. This band could very much be the next big thing like Nirvana or Type O Negative, if they are lucky with the timing and manages to find a way to the masses. And I rate this album ALMOST on par with Bloody Kisses, yes, it's that good.
The singer drums for a different band named Ride for Revenge which features a former member of (and did a split with) the known Nazi black metal band Goatmoon. The guy who did the RfR logo is also a Nazi metal musician. Seems like too much association to be a coincidence and, in my frank opinion, if you're one person not only tolerating but making personal business dealings with two nazis, I see three nazis.
Marduk released their album on the 1st of Sept, that's all I need this month \M/ edit: why "separating the art from the artist"? Sure, they fired their bassist because of a sieg hail or smt, that's a good thing right?
Basically anytime anyone has lyrics about ww2 they immediately get labeled as nazis not that I'm saying there aren't some but not everyone of them are nazis
Mate, the moment I heard that Moonlight Sorcery excerpt, even before you tried to place it in a genre, I was thinking “Cool, that sounds like blackened heavy metal” Fair descriptor?
I really do enjoy Blayne on Banger. I simply seperate the politics from the hosting. Great picks; Moonlight Sorcery rules, reminds me of a blackend CoB at times
I’m so excited for the moonlight sorcery album. There last two have been awesome

We certainly do see Florida as the dm capital, and great to hear that😁
Moonlight Sorcery getting the attention and love they deserve. Really love their sound. Can't wait for this
That album might have taken a diabolic thirst off my top spot for black metal album of the 2020s this album is so badass
Impreial Crystalline Entombment, Marduk, Taake, Undergang, Shining, Primordial...A great month for Black Metal, spooky season is here!!!
I will never not cringe when he says Nukyular Blast.

Whaaaaaat fossilization are back? ❤❤❤❤
Undergang EP is a must that was missed
It’s so good
Moonlight Sorcery to my ears is like a black metal Children of Bodom
Entertaining and informative as always! Thanks for the variety Blaine, look forward to checking out all these bands

Also Undergang, Exhumed and Worn today 🤘

Fossilization with Leprous Daylight is my tip of the month
At this point Dying Victims Productions can do no wrong. Been following the Bandcamp for a minute and glad to see Blayne is doing the same!!!
Can't wait for Moonlight Sorcery, was a big fan of the last one
M.I.A.: PRIMORDIAL - How It Ends + REBAELLIUN - Under the Sign of Rebellion

Do I dare ask what that Dying Victims Productions thing was about?
The "F" at the end of a word is silent in German.
I mean, that's not true but I'd like to imagine it is.
Can't wait for Wolves In The Throne Room! Love them!!!!!♥️🤘😍🤘
Know that Blayne is not big on Prog, but how can he not mention Soen releasing a new album today. One of the best prog bands out there today
They what!?? Thank you for sharing this.

New Undergang sounds nasty. Also probably the only band I've seen live where the vocals had more bass than the actual bass.
SLOMATICS! so hyped for this release. my jaw is clenching already.

Black Power metal? YES PLEASE Blayne. As a guy who loves Metal and Soul please someone invent this genre.
Well...Zeal and Ardor exists :)

Could be album of the year, that one.
no I heard it was horrendous
That album kicks ass. Super creative.
Only if they donate to the Patreon......
The new Svartkonst album is also amazing
Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons released Kings of the Asylum on September 1st for those who like Motörhead like rock N roll
Sylosis has album of the year for 2023 on lockdown.

God dammit I'm already playing catch up with albums this year and this month is nuts
slomatics does a cover of domkraft's dustrider on their ascend/descend split last year. domkraft's also got a new record out september 1st!!

"Dyingf" Victims Productions
alright moonlight sorcery!
Cruel Force, missing in august and now? Such a strong comeback
Don't forget Alkaloid!!! ❤ 🤘🏻
The best metal that will have come out all year without a doubt is: Manowar- Laut und hart, stark und schnell
