I have a question shadow iam relatively new to hunting for arrowheads and stuff and I to live in Oklahoma but idk if iam just unlucky are lucky but the area I hunt I've never found a point but I find flakes and preforms scrapers and blades am I doing something wrong or just not in a great spot iam also hunting in my local.creek
Well, my friend, as some of the others who have replied to you have already mentioned, if you're finding those kinds of things in your creek then you are probably in a good spot. You just have to maintain patience and keep perservering and I bet you'll start finding them over time. Don't give up! It took me almost 6 months to find my first whole point. Try searching after big rain falls have washed through the creek. Creek hunting is going to be a little bit different than the river hunting I do and, I have to be honest here, I have very little creek experience. I pinned your comment so hopefully more people who are more experienced in creeks than I will offer you more tips and advice. Other than that, keep watching youtube. There are a LOT of great creek hunting channels. If you're not already familiar, check out HawkingLithics, theditchwalker, and Heartbreaker Relics. They all do a lot of creek walking. I've learned a lot from all of them about creek hunting even though I don't often search creeks. theditchwalker especially drops some real wisdom on creek hunting (if you pay attention) and he uses different techniques. No two creeks are alike either so keep exploring. I hope this helps some!
@enovilt935 it's all the matter of seeing the right shapes. Color helps, but shape is super important. Pickup or flip over ever possible piece. Keep a stick with a pointy end to flip rocks so you don't have to Bend over. A wooden pole from the hardware store with a 3/16 rod drove in the end is what I use. Or a better description would be a trash picker upper stick
Killer washita. Good to see ya got out and got after them. If you are really into crionoids, you should come up here and hunt a day. You'll have a pocket full in half hour, lo. Keep ROCKing. 🤘🏼
@@meandmyshadow6269 Doing pretty good, man ..😎👍 How bout yourself, Aaron ? I'm just ready for some time to treasure hunt 😆👊!! About ready for cool weather.....lol 👍
Nice to see ya land a birdie, I like to call em “bleeder points”, meant to deeply penetrate its intended target, likely very large hopefully deer and not human, that would hurt😎😎😎
I like your "bleeder" term. Pretty cool. I always wonder if any of the points I've found were used in war. You never know. Kind of morbid I suppose but after you find enough of them you start to kind of wonder about those odds 😬
It seems like it's been a dry year for everyone! But I'm glad to see you were able to find a couple! 💥. That one with the broken tip would go in the case for sure! 👌. Best of luck out there man! 🏹
@meandmyshadow6269 yeap. And to find it first is super awesome. But usually when I find one Iike that first, I pack it up and head home. Usually don't find any more. Lol. Amd yes it amazes me how alot of stuff survive in a river. Bottles bones and artifacts can break so easily but survive a raging river. Blows my mind. Lmao.
@@iwalkincircles2960lol, yeah I can't tell you how many hunts I've had where I find a point in the firat few minutes and then nothing for the rest of the day 😂
That birdie was nuts dude. That type is on my bucket list (then again what isn’t) Been pretty slow for me but I have enough for a fun lil video soon. Currently working on a cherokee bow build video.
That notched triangle are very similar to Cahokia triangles. They're from vastly different time periods but they look very similar. Nice find as was the Snyder's that was unfortunately broken.👍♋
@@meandmyshadow6269 When you get the time check out some videos about Cahokia. Not only the largest mound in the country but the absolute massive size of the of the complex. The number of people living there is crazy too. You'll be glad you did because everything about Cahokia is almost beyond belief.👍♋
Yes it was! Anytime I can get outside on an adventure, it's a beautiful day. Sorry it took me so long to reply. UA-cam never notified me of your last two comments. I just found them in the old comment dust bin, lol! Glad I checked. UA-cam does that some time.
I have my special spots here in Napa ca that I find all kinds of arrowheads and shell beads. I have a knife blade thats bout 10" long of obsidian. new sub here, great video my friend, G
Hey, that's awesome! I love to hear that other people also like to both arrowhead hunt and metal detect. Thanks for the sub! I'm subbed to you as well!
Washita, unless that notch is intentional, then it's a Harrell, but both are same culture. Those are what come out of the same camps as Harahey knives.
I had not heard of a Harrell before. Thanks for the info! I really cant tell if the notch is intentional or not. One side looks kind of intentional and the other side not so much. You had any luck out there lately?

Just gotta keep looking. Sometime that could be all the site has, but I highly doubt that. Keep looking.
You doing everything right. If you're finding all of those other artifacts you'll find points soon. Just keep at it and best of luck to you.👍♋

Nice little side notch almost a Cahokia! That broke looks like a Snyder, great find. And that archaic easy cheese!! 👍😂
