For those looking for infinite ON-OFF-ON-OFF cycle without needing a trigger signal, look at 11:48 for program number 3. NOTE: 1. When your are setting the time in program 3, if you set the time "OFF' first (by setting the time while it's in off mode), then, it will also START in the 'off' mode every time you power it up. 2. If you set the "ON" time FIRST, then (by setting the time while it's in "ON" mode), then, it will always start in "ON" mode every time you power it up.
Steven Lee dude it does not matter how many light bulbs you use as long as the total amperage does not exceed 10 amps. If it does use a solid state relay triggered by this module.
Thankyou for your video i had just bought the relay but it came with no instructions but after seeing you video it has made the operation so easy Thankyou
Thank you when I ordered this same product it only gave me a diagram for using the same battery for the timer and a device which is not what I need and it wasn't working. Im doing the same thing only with a fan, your advice made it work perfectly!
Nice explanation. I had procured this PCB board it's cheap and best for delay timer automation. For more durability of pcb you can give input power and trigger signal both in 5 vdc instead of giving 12 vdc. Reason is there is no heatsink attached with voltage regulator ic which is converting 12 v into 5 v. If we apply 12 v input then excess heat will damage the voltage regulator IC. Input Upto 6 v 0.5A max will increase the durability and stability of this board even if it is used for continuous operations 24x7. Relay build quality is very nice it can withstand more than in household voltage and current ratings. No issue in operating heavy loads through relay. One good protection is provided through opto couplers ics for reverse bias protection and reverse current flow protection. Overall I can say it's a industrial standard design.
Brilliant explanation. Without your help would never have understood the detailed instructions as translated. I am using it in P6 to power a DPDT relay to reverse current for a model tram shuttle (auto back and forth). In test with LEDS (in parallel with reverse polarity) it flips/reverses current well to the exact time. However, the screen goes blank after the first switch, while the current reversal and timer continue to work. Disconnect the DPDT then apply power and the display works fine. I have tried diodes, separate power supply etc., but it seems to not like the surge required to start the DPDT coil or the surge when DPDT coil power is cut.
This helped me a lot. Thank you. Have a different timer module. 4 digits. 12vdc input without trigger and NCNOCom out. Same functionality. Searched everywhere on how to change the timing range. Glad I saw this video. 😍

@@mikescotese620 Yes, I got it to work. What I did was put a fuse block that I could connect everything aftermarket behind the dash I had power to it. You may just have a radio, I have a few other things. I ran power directly to the battery via a relay. This device controls the relay. It works great, but now my radio is powered for however many seconds I've programmed it for, which is fine if your in the vehicle for ~5 mins. But if you just get out, radio is still running until the timer stops. Now I need to put another relay, smaller one, to have the door opening, dome light comes on, to stop power to this timer and shut down the radio. I'm going to do the second relay soon and then everything should work as I first envisioned it. A few hoops to jump through, but doable. I ended up using one of these and it triggers but the dc motor im connecting on the right side doesn't spin at all. What I have going on is a 9v battery connected into a bread board then a wire coming from the power of the 9v on the bread board to the top left and a wire connected to the ground of the 9v on the battery going to the bottom left and a wire in the middle left that triggers from a signal from a push button to the middle left. (signal works because countdown enables on this module when the button is pressed) and on the right side i've tried 1 wire in the breadboard ground from the 9v from the dc motor and the other wire of the dc motor in the middle right or even top right of the module with a power wire coming from the 9v on the breadboard on the bottom right but it doesn't ever trigger the dc motor like it's not getting any power. I've tried taking the wire from the bottom right and touching the middle right where the wire from the dc motor is connected and it does not trigger. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks!

Quick Question. I need to use P2. Can the the unit receiving power be the trigger (there is no separate trigger). I am using it in a car. so when the car is turned on that is the time the timer receives the power and i want that to be the trigger as will for P2.
Hi this is so helpful. For my project I’m using this 12v relay but I’m only connection it to a 5v solar power manager. Will this mean that it won’t work cus it needs to be connected to a 12v power supply?
Excellent explanation I just ordered the 999 minute one from Amazon I'm going to use it for 12-volt DC I have an Factory time delay relay in the Machine but it's only good for 30 seconds and then my radio shuts off they never wired and accessory switch into the key so I must have it on to run the radio but at the same time it runs the electric power steering I'm going to use the trigger from the factory time delay to trigger this relay I can program it so the radio will stay up for 1 hour with the key off
Hi , if we need a timer that connect or disconnect circuits after 6 hours what should we do? What should we buy? As I realized, this module go up to 999 s at last.
Hi sir robojax... what is the exact name of this module sir... want to buy one sir.. hope u can send the details of this eelay sir. Ty ang more power..😊
Thanks for introducing the excellent timer. Presentation is excellent too. BTW, the video was uploaded long time ago still I would like to ask a question. My question is that what will happen to a program when the power is off? Is the program will remain in the timer even the power is off? Thanks.
Thanks for your nice video, i use this timer but found one problem, i use it as delay power on for my refrigerator ( 220 volt ,400 Watt) use delay for 300 second, which is work properly but when power goes and resume then the load flash for a second i mean relay on for a second then off and count down begin, how can i avoid it. I use here in P-1 mode my adapter is 12 volt DC, trigger pin connected to + DC terminal.
You are welcome. when you say "power goes and resumes" is it unexpected "goes and resumes" ? if so this device doesn't have another timer to do this. If this power disruption is due to power blackout , then you have to have another relay module between this and your fridge to prevent it it from doing this.
Thanks for your update, I'm also thinking to add another Relay module, sometimes in my place when weather is too bad, then power ups and down frequently, so i need a delay for safe my electrical gadget , primarily its working fine.
I believe I have demonstrated it . If it was LOW to HIGH then it won’t have affect if stays there . I don’t remember what I did but watching video will give you the answer as I used diagram yo explain it
Hi Ahmad, I'm truly new to all this, but I have to finish a project that involves this type of mechanism, though the one I need has to have a • physically separated switch • a small beeper for sound • a timer of 1-15 seconds The idea is that once I regulate the timer, let's say to around 9 seconds, I will be able to press the switch, and the sound beeper will make a beep sound after 9 seconds. I would do this continuously. I would be truly appreciative for your guidance in figuring out which one I need to buy online, probably from Amazon or from any place I can buy it from. Regards, CJ
I want just to add a delay of 3 mins when the module is powered on. Means say after a power cut, the power restores, I want the delay of 3 mins then power on the device connected to relay. Can you let me know the connections and mode to use? I think I dont need any trigger for this.
Can you explain more on P.2. What if never remove the trigger at P.2. How is it going to perform? delay switch on as normal, after switch on the timer stop counting to turn off until trigger remove? Because i wan to use it at amplifier as delay switch on and delay switch off with trigger.
@@robojax Thanks first, what I mean is at 10.03 after you touch the trigger you straight away remove the trigger as shown, what I want to know is if the trigger havn't remove until switch on, what will happen to the device.
Nice video, well made. I have another board like that vhm-013. Has only two connectors. One for +_12v and one for the relais. Would you know how I can trigger the timer with this one?

HI, Hope you will answer my question, a long time ago a Video was uploaded. Asking about 10A, does this mean that the relay must not receive more than 10A or the consumer must not be more than 10A? Sorry for my English, i hope u understand. Thank u :)
If I want to use this circuit to rotate motor in clockwise and anticlockwise direction by up and down switch with single circuit than is it possible? If yes than how?
Hi, your video actually helped me to build up my confidence while buying this module. I could program the module. It will great if you could upload the pdf of the program. Thanks for your efforts.
Does your video feature how you set a DELAY >>RelayOn forever setup??? Couldn't understand if this simple delay to always on is set on this. Many thanks.

Will its time value hold whenever power resumes after interruption? or get reset to zero ? Should I have to use inverter supply to hold its current value in P 1.1 setting ?
@@robojax please clarify ur answer. Should I have to use inverter to hold last intrupted current time value OR without any inverter, the circuit will itself hold the last intrupted value ??!!! Hello, thank you for your video. It was helpful for me too. But I have question: At 4:00 you explain the trigger. and you say I can use an arduino etc. But I don't know how I can use a 12v alexa switch as trigger. Would I need to connect the 12v alexa ouput to the middle too? (I want to open a magnet lock with alexa and I have to assure it turns off / shuts automatically after a few seconds, otherwise the magnet lock overheats) Thanks in advance.
Hello. I never heard of "12v alexa". But regards less. you need to +12V and - or ground to connect and trigger this. Are you referring to Amazon Alexa? if so I've not used it.
@@robojax thank you for your answer. I meant I use a 12v switch for amazon alexa :)(www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07ZYVZQMR/) So I will probably be able to trigger it with it. thank you for the clarification. I am going to try it out :) have a nice day
so you basically require three connections? one for powering up this relay. second to trigger the timer function and third for the appliance connected to COM, NO or NC? isn't that a bit messy?
But what happens when the module gets power? Does it do whatever function it is set to, or does it HAVE to be triggered? I need a module that when power is applied it turns on for a few seconds the turns off.
Hi. Just wanted to ask.. in this setup can we get 2 bulbs in the relay no and nc and in p3 we set time duration of say 8 seconds each would it light the alternate bulbs infinitely or after some time it will turn off after say 10 repetitions. Thanks

They can operate the opposite of each other yes . One will turn on and the other will turn off. Yes. But not independent operations at different timing as we have only one relay. Birth must be operation with the same voltage.

I have this relay, or at least one that looks exactly the same, mine counts down in minutes. Put the little dot just after the numbers and it turns to minutes instead of seconds. The display on my unit is kind of funky, I more or less have to guess my numbers, but the count down works as intended. I guess you get what you pay for .
There are many variation of relay timer that looks like this. some got one feature and some the other. They don't even put a model number on this. So it is hard to know which one is which.
@@robojax Yes you are probebly right. I could fix my display by the way. it was a litle solder bead stuck between two leggs, once i cut it away it worked fine. Wery handy relay. thanks for wid.
Hello I bought one off these but in p_4 the relay is open and when the trigger is applied the countdown starts and turns off. If the trigger is removed it turns on again. Can you explain that?
Does this keep the settings if you disconnect all the power sources on it or do you have to set everything if you loose your power and grounds to the module?
Hi, I need to turn on an led strip (12v) for one second and when it turns off turn a different one for one second and alternating those two. Which module is suitable for this purpose? Thank you

Then if there is no trigger, then turn it back on immediately and run 30 seconds timer as before, however, if the trigger existed after 30 seconds then keep the device off until the trigger ceases to exist. Very good...Thank you.....
Thank you too
Very good explanation, is it possible to porgamm it and then power it off and keep the setting you give it when it powers up?
Yes it keeps the setting when you lose it off.
@@robojax Thank you so much for your detailed explanation.
Muchas ,gracias no hay un video donde te enseñen a conectar correctamente!!!gracias
Thank you very much for your detailed explanation. This is exactly what I need to add my front camera to my car parking system.
You are welcome! I am glad it helped. Ahmad from Canada (Hurasan)
Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much for the very detailed description that made my decision on buying a few for my projects.
You are welcome. I am glad you found it useful.
Hey, I would to ask if this module can set the time in hour as I want to use it on led light.
Excellent explanation I just ordered the 999 minute one from Amazon I'm going to use it for 12-volt DC I have an Factory time delay relay in the Machine but it's only good for 30 seconds and then my radio shuts off they never wired and accessory switch into the key so I must have it on to run the radio but at the same time it runs the electric power steering I'm going to use the trigger from the factory time delay to trigger this relay I can program it so the radio will stay up for 1 hour with the key off
Thank you. I am glad you liked it.
Thanks for the video. Can I use it for 24v or 220v lamp?
You are welcome. You can use it turn ON and OFF any bulb up to 250V DC or AC. Just make sure do not go above 10A.
Great video, I want to delay the relay to trigger after receiving a signal but stay triggered until signal disappears, Can this be done?
Thanks for introducing the excellent timer. Presentation is excellent too. BTW, the video was uploaded long time ago still I would like to ask a question. My question is that what will happen to a program when the power is off? Is the program will remain in the timer even the power is off? Thanks.
You are welcome. It keeps all the programs after you turn off the device.
hello congratulations on this tutorial ... can i use this 12v module in a 220 volt electrical installation? What? Thank you
Thanks for your nice video, i use this timer but found one problem, i use it as delay power on for my refrigerator ( 220 volt ,400 Watt) use delay for 300 second, which is work properly but when power goes and resume then the load flash for a second i mean relay on for a second then off and count down begin, how can i avoid it.
Very helpful video, thank you.
Masha Allah very supperb explanation
Thank you very much robojax! I am wondering what happens if the trigger is not removed in mode P-1?
I believe I have demonstrated it . If it was LOW to HIGH then it won’t have affect if stays there . I don’t remember what I did but watching video will give you the answer as I used diagram yo explain it
@@robojax thank you for clarifying!
Hi Ahmad,
I'm truly new to all this, but I have to finish a project that involves this type of mechanism, though the one I need has to have a
• physically separated switch
• a small beeper for sound
• a timer of 1-15 seconds
The idea is that once I regulate the timer, let's say to around 9 seconds, I will be able to press the switch, and the sound beeper will make a beep sound after 9 seconds. I would do this continuously.
I would be truly appreciative for your guidance in figuring out which one I need to buy online, probably from Amazon or from any place I can buy it from.
Regards,
CJ
"I've set it to 7 seconds because 12 seconds is very long" lol
time? LOL
I want just to add a delay of 3 mins when the module is powered on. Means say after a power cut, the power restores, I want the delay of 3 mins then power on the device connected to relay. Can you let me know the connections and mode to use? I think I dont need any trigger for this.
Does this retain the input time after power cut or we need to set it evrytime we use it ?
Yea it does
Thank you very much
Very good explanation on how to use the module, i have a question, does the module remembers the timer setting even after the module is not powered?
Yes it does.
@@robojax Thanks! Again, great tutorial!
you are welcome.
Can you explain more on P.2. What if never remove the trigger at P.2. How is it going to perform? delay switch on as normal, after switch on the timer stop counting to turn off until trigger remove? Because i wan to use it at amplifier as delay switch on and delay switch off with trigger.
to my best knowledge, I have explained all features. review all modes and find out whichever works best for you use it.
@@robojax Thanks first, what I mean is at 10.03 after you touch the trigger you straight away remove the trigger as shown, what I want to know is if the trigger havn't remove until switch on, what will happen to the device.
Thank you for this video. This was very helpful.
You are welcome.
excellent. simple. thank you.
I need the same for my Europe 220v, is it the right one?
The relay work for any country. Just calculate the total power.
Nice video, well made. I have another board like that vhm-013. Has only two connectors. One for +_12v and one for the relais. Would you know how I can trigger the timer with this one?
Thank You Sir 👍🏼
Ok, i no nowt about relays etc, looking for motorbike, Wheni put the kick stand down, i want 4 led lights to light up for ex amount of time then switch off. Is this the gadget i need to add?..
Cheers Mark. 👻
Where can we buy this.....
See the link in the description. We have no choice other than eBay, AliExpress or Amazon.
Useful but I need to make a delay switch from power on - does this store the settings ?
All the settings are saved
Excellent video. How can i connect a PNP sensor to this device. Where would the sensor output be connected?
Thanks. PNP if you are referring to PNP transistor, I have no idea about configuration but the input I have shown and triggered it is the input.
great job! i was thinking if is it possible instead of momentary switch, could we connect the xh-m609 to drive the time delay module?
Hi, your video actually helped me to build up my confidence while buying this module. I could program the module. It will great if you could upload the pdf of the program. Thanks for your efforts.
You are welcome. There is not PDF manual for this module. Good luck with your project.
Does your video feature how you set a
DELAY >>RelayOn forever setup???
Couldn't understand if this simple delay to always on is set on this.
Many thanks.
the "forever" if available I should have mentioned it . I never leave anything when I explain and review modules. so watch the video fully to get answer.
I did watch it all.
But the video doesn't mention what happens if you set OFF time to 0 in any of the programs.
What happens then?
Thank you.
Tried without success had to get a different product to do a simple delay always on function.
Great video! Question: Can this device be set for 2 seconds in the ON position then pause for 12 seconds and sets to the ON position again for 2 seconds repeating this pattern for up to 60 seconds? Then use a trigger to restart the entire process?
Everything this module does I have explained it. I have left nothing out. I have shown minimum time and maximum time. You must have skipped the video. Please watch it without skipping and I am assure you that you will get your answer. Thank you for not skipping the ads and keep watching them. This will help me a lot.
Robojax Thank you. I watched another one of your videos on the Drok XY-LJ102 and I think the P5 setting will do just fine. Thank you for putting out great content.
You are welcome. I am glad you found the solution
Hello Robojax.. it maintains the series of programs as long as it's powered on right?
it will keep the programming even if you power it off. just test it.
@@robojax my sentence was misleading.. I mean, it does loop right? like when i set it to (5s on - 3s off, 8s on - 10s off, 20s on - 5s off.
@@robojax I'm thinking of connecting it into a 1320 watt 110v AC Heater.. Is it capable of it?
I have explained everything this module does. if you did not find what you are looking for, then it doesn't do it. I forgot what this module does. but I have not seen anything that take more than 2 time like t1 and t2. so watch the main details and the demonstration.
I need a mini unit that can turn
off/on on a 0.5 second loop while the signal is closed. Maybe faster., is this unit much capable with a 1.5 amp load?
Will its time value hold whenever power resumes after interruption? or get reset to zero ? Should I have to use inverter supply to hold its current value in P 1.1 setting ?
yes of course. it would be crazy to set it every time you turn it off .
@@robojax please clarify ur answer. Should I have to use inverter to hold last intrupted current time value
OR without any inverter, the circuit will itself hold the last intrupted value ??!!! (please check yourself> because one youtuber said that it reset to zero, when power goes, so use inverter.
I want to use it for 'reverse'''displaying time countdown''' in my project as time displayed in a washing machine.
so I have 2 timers and one if I hit the signal while its counting down it will cancel the timer but the 2nd one I have will just restart the timer vs canceling it, how do I make it cancel the timer like the 1st one?
thank you for explaining this
Hello, thank you for your video. It was helpful for me too. But I have question: At 4:00 you explain the trigger. and you say I can use an arduino etc. But I don't know how I can use a 12v alexa switch as trigger. Would I need to connect the 12v alexa ouput to the middle too?
(I want to open a magnet lock with alexa and I have to assure it turns off / shuts automatically after a few seconds, otherwise the magnet lock overheats)
Thanks in advance.
Was it possible to do it some other way?
But what happens when the module gets power? Does it do whatever function it is set to, or does it HAVE to be triggered? I need a module that when power is applied it turns on for a few seconds the turns off.
Hi. Just wanted to ask.. in this setup can we get 2 bulbs in the relay no and nc and in p3 we set time duration of say 8 seconds each would it light the alternate bulbs infinitely or after some time it will turn off after say 10 repetitions. Thanks
Hi, both load or AC bulb will turn on and off together.
@@robojax thanks for your reply, i wanted to run 2 set of linear actuators which are powered by a 12v geared motor , i wish to run both motors in 2 ways . One when its n.o. they will rotate clockwise and in n.c. condition they rotate anti clock wise. Is it possible? Building a mechanism where the actuators move up n down during the cycle.
They can operate the opposite of each other yes . One will turn on and the other will turn off. Yes. But not independent operations at different timing as we have only one relay. Birth must be operation with the same voltage.
@@robojax can i get your emal id so that i can communicate better? Really wanted to understand this.

All the features have been explained. If you can't find the feature you are looking for, then it doesn't' have it. Use Arduino and program it exactly the way you want. this is for people who have limited expectation.
Hi Robojax,
Very good and informative tutorials. The P-3 function goes into an infinite loop right? Does it stop if the trigger signal is activated? Thanks
i am sorry to answer you question, I would have to watch the video. So you better watch as I have over 260 videos and don't remember. To the best of knowledge, I have left nothing that you need to know. So watch it again, pay attention and do NOT escape the time.
You are welcome.
Hello I bought one off these but in p_4 the relay is open and when the trigger is applied the countdown starts and turns off. If the trigger is removed it turns on again. Can you explain that?
Thank You ! Now I can use that for the quail incubator.
Glad to help
Does this keep the settings if you disconnect all the power sources on it or do you have to set everything if you loose your power and grounds to the module?
yes it does.
12V module currents in all P1 to P4 modes:
13mA when idling (LED showing time)
45mA when relay is on (LED showing)

you can use this, with the 2 gates, normally open and normally closed
Does It have memory? If i program something anf it stops getting electricity, when i Connect it again, does it starts working with the instructions it was programmed last time or i need to program it every time?

No worries my friend. Thanks
In P2 mode, can I tie the trigger and input voltage together? Meaning, I want the relay to trigger say 2 seconds after the unit is powered on.
I want to turn the device on for 30 seconds without the trigger bypassing this timer and after the 30 seconds have gone it should shut off the device. Then if there is no trigger, then turn it back on immediately and run 30 seconds timer as before, however, if the trigger existed after 30 seconds then keep the device off until the trigger ceases to exist. Is it possible? Thanks.
