Thankyou for your video i had just bought the relay but it came with no instructions but after seeing you video it has made the operation so easy Thankyou
Thank you when I ordered this same product it only gave me a diagram for using the same battery for the timer and a device which is not what I need and it wasn't working. Im doing the same thing only with a fan, your advice made it work perfectly!
For those looking for infinite ON-OFF-ON-OFF cycle without needing a trigger signal, look at 11:48 for program number 3. NOTE: 1. When your are setting the time in program 3, if you set the time "OFF' first (by setting the time while it's in off mode), then, it will also START in the 'off' mode every time you power it up. 2. If you set the "ON" time FIRST, then (by setting the time while it's in "ON" mode), then, it will always start in "ON" mode every time you power it up.
Steven Lee dude it does not matter how many light bulbs you use as long as the total amperage does not exceed 10 amps. If it does use a solid state relay triggered by this module.
Brilliant explanation. Without your help would never have understood the detailed instructions as translated. I am using it in P6 to power a DPDT relay to reverse current for a model tram shuttle (auto back and forth). In test with LEDS (in parallel with reverse polarity) it flips/reverses current well to the exact time. However, the screen goes blank after the first switch, while the current reversal and timer continue to work. Disconnect the DPDT then apply power and the display works fine. I have tried diodes, separate power supply etc., but it seems to not like the surge required to start the DPDT coil or the surge when DPDT coil power is cut.
Nice explanation. I had procured this PCB board it's cheap and best for delay timer automation. For more durability of pcb you can give input power and trigger signal both in 5 vdc instead of giving 12 vdc. Reason is there is no heatsink attached with voltage regulator ic which is converting 12 v into 5 v. If we apply 12 v input then excess heat will damage the voltage regulator IC. Input Upto 6 v 0.5A max will increase the durability and stability of this board even if it is used for continuous operations 24x7. Relay build quality is very nice it can withstand more than in household voltage and current ratings. No issue in operating heavy loads through relay. One good protection is provided through opto couplers ics for reverse bias protection and reverse current flow protection. Overall I can say it's a industrial standard design.
This helped me a lot. Thank you. Have a different timer module. 4 digits. 12vdc input without trigger and NCNOCom out. Same functionality. Searched everywhere on how to change the timing range. Glad I saw this video. 😍

@@mikescotese620 Yes, I got it to work. What I did was put a fuse block that I could connect everything aftermarket behind the dash I had power to it. It works great, but now my radio is powered for however many seconds I've programmed it for, which is fine if your in the vehicle for ~5 mins. But if you just get out, radio is still running until the timer stops. Hi this is so helpful. For my project I’m using this 12v relay but I’m only connection it to a 5v solar power manager. Will this mean that it won’t work cus it needs to be connected to a 12v power supply?
Hi Ahmad, I'm truly new to all this, but I have to finish a project that involves this type of mechanism, though the one I need has to have a • physically separated switch • a small beeper for sound • a timer of 1-15 seconds The idea is that once I regulate the timer, let's say to around 9 seconds, I will be able to press the switch, and the sound beeper will make a beep sound after 9 seconds. I would do this continuously. I would be truly appreciative for your guidance in figuring out which one I need to buy online, probably from Amazon or from any place I can buy it from. Regards, CJ
Nice video, well made. I have another board like that vhm-013. Has only two connectors. One for +_12v and one for the relais. Would you know how I can trigger the timer with this one?
Thanks for your detailed videos, I use to incubator in these model but,I am not set to 10-sec, relay and 2-hours off in my incubator. Please make a video in 10-sec relay and 2 hours off
Nice I got this to control the input signal from my turn signal to a controller that controls my cameras I installed for my blindspots. I basically had it figured out but it's nice to hear it from someone who knows what they're talking about. I saw something on Amazon where I bought it that you can program it on the internet. How do you do that?
Thanks for your nice video, i use this timer but found one problem, i use it as delay power on for my refrigerator ( 220 volt ,400 Watt) use delay for 300 second, which is work properly but when power goes and resume then the load flash for a second i mean relay on for a second then off and count down begin, how can i avoid it. I use here in P-1 mode my adapter is 12 volt DC, trigger pin connected to + DC terminal.
You are welcome. when you say "power goes and resumes" is it unexpected "goes and resumes" ? if so this device doesn't have another timer to do this. If this power disruption is due to power blackout , then you have to have another relay module between this and your fridge to prevent it it from doing this.
Thanks for your update, I'm also thinking to add another Relay module, sometimes in my place when weather is too bad, then power ups and down frequently, so i need a delay for safe my electrical gadget , primarily its working fine.
So very helpful! Those Chinese eBay circuit boards are a dark magic without the wisdom of some person who speaks proper English to explain it fully. Thank you.
I believe I have demonstrated it . If it was LOW to HIGH then it won’t have affect if stays there . I don’t remember what I did but watching video will give you the answer as I used diagram yo explain it
I want to turn the device on for 30 seconds without the trigger bypassing this timer and after the 30 seconds have gone it should shut off the device. Then if there is no trigger, then turn it back on immediately and run 30 seconds timer as before, however, if the trigger existed after 30 seconds then keep the device off until the trigger ceases to exist. Is it possible? Thanks.
But what happens when the module gets power? Does it do whatever function it is set to, or does it HAVE to be triggered? I need a module that when power is applied it turns on for a few seconds the turns off.
HI, Hope you will answer my question, a long time ago a Video was uploaded. Asking about 10A, does this mean that the relay must not receive more than 10A or the consumer must not be more than 10A? Sorry for my English, i hope u understand. Thank u :)

Hello I bought one off these but in p_4 the relay is open and when the trigger is applied the countdown starts and turns off. If the trigger is removed it turns on again. Can you explain that?
Hi Robojax, Thank you for a wonderful explanation. I want to ask if this module can be programmed to work in minutes rather than seconds? I want to automate something to work for a minute or so for once or twice per 24 hrs.
Can you explain more on P.2. What if never remove the trigger at P.2. How is it going to perform? delay switch on as normal, after switch on the timer stop counting to turn off until trigger remove? Because i wan to use it at amplifier as delay switch on and delay switch off with trigger.
@@robojax Thanks first, what I mean is at 10.03 after you touch the trigger you straight away remove the trigger as shown, what I want to know is if the trigger havn't remove until switch on, what will happen to the device.

so I have 2 timers and one if I hit the signal while its counting down it will cancel the timer but the 2nd one I have will just restart the timer vs canceling it, how do I make it cancel the timer like the 1st one?
Great video, explained it very clearly. I am planning to use it with a 12V source (inside a Car) to a 5V voice playback. Do I need a converter / transformer? My goal is try to rig a Welcome voice in my car upon starting the engine, which will be the "trigger" and with a delay of 5 seconds, and then voice will activate a 10 second recording of "Welcome Master" after that it shuts off the entire time I'm driving. Do you think this will work? By the way this is my first time using these items. Thank you again for your awesome video.
You are welcome. The module works with 12V but when you start the car, the voltage goes below 10V. If you have multimeter, check it out. So this will start working after car started. For your 5V voice recorder, you can use a converter 5V yes. you should.
Message:Thank you for your informative and helpful video: I purchased this device from you. In the video, when using P1 you demonstrate that the input signal can be momentary, or continuous and the relay shuts off as programmed. On the unit I received, the momentary works, but if the signal is continuous it does not shut off. It instantly resets and the timer runs down again until this signal is disconnected. Please advise. thanks

Hi. Thanks very much for the video. Is there a similar circuit that can be automatically turned ON for 10-15mins and then OFF for 1 hour and then repeat this cycle? Thanks
Thank you so much for the detailed information. I've managed to connect the relay to my Dahua Intercom which is connected to a electric door strike. I managed to power the relay and got the trigger working so that it start counting down in P-1 settings. However, when connecting my 2-wire electric door strike - it doesn't seem to receive any power. The LED light does come on when the trigger is activated & last throughout the countdown but no power seems to be going to the door strike. Any idea why?
You are very welcome. Are you saying that you connected your door strike, instead of the bulb shown in video and it is not turning ON and OFF? if relay clicks and hear it, then your wiring is incorrect. I assume your door device is functioning. test it without connecting it to this module. Connect another load AC or DC bulb and test it. Perhaps the relay connectors on the module are bad. good luck.

Hi this is so helpful. For my project I’m using this 12v relay but I’m only connection it to a 5v solar power manager. Will this mean that it won’t work cus it needs to be connected to a 12v power supply?
Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much for the very detailed description that made my decision on buying a few for my projects.
You are welcome. I am glad you found it useful.
Awsome This helped me to find the right function. Thanks!!!!!

Hi Ahmad,
I'm truly new to all this, but I have to finish a project that involves this type of mechanism, though the one I need has to have a
• physically separated switch
• a small beeper for sound
• a timer of 1-15 seconds
The idea is that once I regulate the timer, let's say to around 9 seconds, I will be able to press the switch, and the sound beeper will make a beep sound after 9 seconds. I would do this continuously.
I would be truly appreciative for your guidance in figuring out which one I need to buy online, probably from Amazon or from any place I can buy it from.
Regards,
CJ
Nice video, well made. I have another board like that vhm-013. Has only two connectors. One for +_12v and one for the relais. Would you know how I can trigger the timer with this one?
Ein sehr gut gemachtes Video! Danke dafür. Beste Grüße aus Deutschland. :)
Ich freue mich, dass Sie es nützlich fanden. Grüße von Ahmad aus Kanada. Bleib sicher.
Thanks for your detailed videos, I use to incubator in these model but,I am not set to 10-sec, relay and 2-hours off in my incubator. Please make a video in 10-sec relay and 2 hours off
You are welcome. Here are my timer related videos ua-cam.com/channels/kcBSig_Iu4ZnAIeCeG1TVg.htmlsearch?query=timer
great job! i was thinking if is it possible instead of momentary switch, could we connect the xh-m609 to drive the time delay module?
Thank you.
You are welcome.
Muchas ,gracias no hay un video donde te enseñen a conectar correctamente!!!gracias
Just ordered it for a small DC fan. We will ses
Thank you very much robojax! I am wondering what happens if the trigger is not removed in mode P-1?
I believe I have demonstrated it . If it was LOW to HIGH then it won’t have affect if stays there . I don’t remember what I did but watching video will give you the answer as I used diagram yo explain it
@@robojax thank you for clarifying!
Very good explanation, is it possible to porgamm it and then power it off and keep the setting you give it when it powers up?
Yes it keeps the setting when you lose it off.
@@robojax Thank you so much for your detailed explanation.
Nice video. Can I use this or other model for random trigger activation? If not, hope you can share some option. Best regards.
Perhaps using Arduino you can make such random trigger. Thanks
Thank u :)
can i ask, what are those red, green, and white wires and where are they connect to?
you made me watch the video to check if I forgot to explain it. But indeed I have explained it in the video very clearly. Please watch it without skipping. I have not said anything extra on this video. This is the best tutorial ever. If you want to learn about this module, you MUST watch it fully.
I need the same for my Europe 220v, is it the right one?
The relay work for any country. Just calculate the total power.
A comprehensive presentation...very helpful friend..👍
Glad you liked it
Hello I bought one off these but in p_4 the relay is open and when the trigger is applied the countdown starts and turns off. If the trigger is removed it turns on again. Can you explain that?
Very detailed video thank you!
In P2 mode, can I tie the trigger and input voltage together? Meaning, I want the relay to trigger say 2 seconds after the unit is powered on.
Very good explanation on how to use the module, i have a question, does the module remembers the timer setting even after the module is not powered?
Yes it does.
@@robojax Thanks! Again, great tutorial!
you are welcome.
Hi Robojax,
Thank you for a wonderful explanation.
I want to ask if this module can be programmed to work in minutes rather than seconds? I want to automate something to work for a minute or so for once or twice per 24 hrs.
hello congratulations on this tutorial ... can i use this 12v module in a 220 volt electrical installation? What? Thank you
Hey, I would to ask if this module can set the time in hour as I want to use it on led light.
thanks is this any way to disable the delay time I just want to use once per use I want to use the timer for turning on and not using the cycle?
Can you explain more on P.2. What if never remove the trigger at P.2. How is it going to perform? delay switch on as normal, after switch on the timer stop counting to turn off until trigger remove? Because i wan to use it at amplifier as delay switch on and delay switch off with trigger.
to my best knowledge, I have explained all features. review all modes and find out whichever works best for you use it.
@@robojax Thanks first, what I mean is at 10.03 after you touch the trigger you straight away remove the trigger as shown, what I want to know is if the trigger havn't remove until switch on, what will happen to the device.
Thank You ! Now I can use that for the quail incubator.
Glad to help
Hi I don’t suppose you happen to know of a relay board that is constantly on but with a trigger will turn off for a set amount of time and then turn on again. Great videos by the way very informative. I wish I could send a video of what I’ve built
Thanks for the info
@@robojax thank you!
I need a mini unit that can turn
off/on on a 0.5 second loop while the signal is closed. Maybe faster., is this unit much capable with a 1.5 amp load?
Good Job! You covered everything and went at a nice pace... ;-) Mark Mann M2technology There is ONE simple diagram you should show at first, as soon as i can find a way to get it to you I would like for you ti have it!
Thank you.
If I want to use this circuit to rotate motor in clockwise and anticlockwise direction by up and down switch with single circuit than is it possible? If yes than how?
Keep them coming..
Masha Allah very supperb explanation
Hi Robojax,
Very good and informative tutorials. The P-3 function goes into an infinite loop right? Does it stop if the trigger signal is activated? Thanks
i am sorry to answer you question, I would have to watch the video. So you better watch as I have over 260 videos and don't remember. To the best of knowledge, I have left nothing that you need to know. So watch it again, pay attention and do NOT escape the time.
Very , Very good review ! Thanks a lot !
You are welcome.
Ok, i no nowt about relays etc, looking for motorbike, Wheni put the kick stand down, i want 4 led lights to light up for ex amount of time then switch off. Is this the gadget i need to add?..
Cheers Mark. 👻
Hi,i have a problem with the bord...if the bord isn't running any program it's switched off....
i want to make the board to wait for the trigger signal then run the program, any advices?
Thanks for the video. Can I use it for 24v or 220v lamp?
You are welcome. You can use it turn ON and OFF any bulb up to 250V DC or AC. Just make sure do not go above 10A.
12V module currents in all P1 to P4 modes:
13mA when idling (LED showing time)
45mA when relay is on (LED showing)
Quick Question. I need to use P2.
Can the the unit receiving power be the trigger (there is no separate trigger).
I am using it in a car. so when the car is turned on that is the time the timer receives the power and i want that to be the trigger as will for P2.
Excellent video. How can i connect a PNP sensor to this device. Where would the sensor output be connected?
Thanks. PNP if you are referring to PNP transistor, I have no idea about configuration but the input I have shown and triggered it is the input.
I am using program P-3 and I want to have a 600 second off and a 0.2 second on time. How can I set the timer to do this? When I change the 2nd parameter to 0.2 seconds the 1st (or off time) goes to 60.0 seconds. What am I doing wrong?
Hello I have found your video very helpful but I still have a problem. I have wired identical to the video but I have no output power. The green led illuminates on the timer ok and goes out but my external light won’t come on. Any help would be appreciated
Tnx.for the video.how about if hours can set
1 hour is 3600 seconds. this can go max to 999. I have other module's review with 999 hours. search my channel.
Useful but I need to make a delay switch from power on - does this store the settings ?
All the settings are saved
Does your video feature how you set a
DELAY >>RelayOn forever setup???
Couldn't understand if this simple delay to always on is set on this.
Many thanks.
the "forever" if available I should have mentioned it . I never leave anything when I explain and review modules. so watch the video fully to get answer.
I did watch it all.
But the video doesn't mention what happens if you set OFF time to 0 in any of the programs.
What happens then?
Thank you.
Tried without success had to get a different product to do a simple delay always on function.
Is there any version of the same board as a unit that you can mount into a surface plate ?
there are 100s on AliExpress and eBay and most don't have a model number.
@@robojax but thats not the same module? www.amazon.de/BIlinli-Timing-Verz%C3%B6gerungsrelais-Modul-Zyklus-Timer-Digital-LED-Doppelanzeige-0-999-Minuten/dp/B07P8RB5KZ/ref=pd_sbs_60_10?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07P8RB5KZ&pd_rd_r=e1898546-5b73-4833-a604-88021dc13f3a&pd_rd_w=kp1PA&pd_rd_wg=DhjLf&pf_rd_p=42bf0ad8-ce6f-4127-a2f0-106727020a41&pf_rd_r=YHXV07ND423QH2FJAYXZ&psc=1&refRID=YHXV07ND423QH2FJAYXZ
"I've set it to 7 seconds because 12 seconds is very long" lol
time? LOL
Hi, I need to turn on an led strip (12v) for one second and when it turns off turn a different one for one second and alternating those two. Which module is suitable for this purpose? Thank you
you can use this, with the 2 gates, normally open and normally closed
Very helpful video, thank you.
so I have 2 timers and one if I hit the signal while its counting down it will cancel the timer but the 2nd one I have will just restart the timer vs canceling it, how do I make it cancel the timer like the 1st one?
Thank you for this video. This was very helpful.
You are welcome.
For your 5V voice recorder, you can use a converter 5V yes. you should.
Message:Thank you for your informative and helpful video:
I purchased this device from you. In the video, when using P1 you demonstrate that the input signal can be momentary, or continuous and the relay shuts off as programmed. On the unit I received, the momentary works, but if the signal is continuous it does not shut off. It instantly resets and the timer runs down again until this signal is disconnected.
Please advise.
thanks
I am not selling this. Either you module is different or you are not following the settings. Watch the video again perhaps.
@@robojax i just noticed in your video that the module you have did the same thing when continuous power was applied to signal it started the cycle over
Thanks for your detailed video. can I use the same 12 V DC supply for the load and the supply of the module?
Basically I need to use the P-3 mode.
Yes. you can if your load is also 12V.
is it possible to keep it on for few sec and off continuously till power disconnected ? like a windscreen wiper
All the features have been explained. If you can't find the feature you are looking for, then it doesn't' have it. Use Arduino and program it exactly the way you want. this is for people who have limited expectation.

Perhaps the relay connectors on the module are bad. good luck.
@@robojax Thanks for the update and got this sorted as I forgot to connect the power source for the electric door strike. Once again, much appreciated your speedy reply and follow-up.
