Time to butcher our first home bred pig, we crossed a wild sow with a large white boar to create a long awaited dream for Rob after he ate pumba in Africa. The result of this breeding is a sweet, juicy tasty meat so much nicer than basic pork.
After the huge jobs of getting the iron water tank in place for the bathroom and the main beam for the patio roof then butchering the pigs we take some time out to enjoy the animals

It's nice to know that I am not the only one this week to have heard 'the pigs are out'.
Up to my boot tops in mud because it's rained so much. My purple potatoe patch raided by the big black piggy, while his other two siblings are snoring in their Tin Bay Can hut. I grab the electric netting to realise to late that I hadn't turned the power off, whilst my first coffee for the day is half drunk and cooling on the kitchen windowsil.

Oh my goodness! the story of our lives.. until this week when we invested in a super strong energizer and strained live wire in star pickets plus 2 barb strands. The whole lot were out last week, and we now have 6 piglets and 5 adults.. Let's see them get out now!
