I was a self serving person with a mental illness and alcoholic addiction: I am sober now 12 years and almost 8 months!!!. Loved the bit about so many people feeling not good enough and us all wearing masks.
Collaboration, encouragement, kindness, support and being genuinely happy when others are also happy is the biggest life lesson you can learn as a person and as a community.
This allows stories like mine, where a young guy from one the UKs most deprived areas, son of a postman father and a factory worker mother ended up with a PhD in software engineering and a 30-year career as an IT consultant via my own software company. I could not have done any of this without the unflinching support of family and friends.
The deprived left-wing areas of the UK are no different than the religious affluent right-wing areas of the US. Everyone has faith in some way, some to God, some to community, but it is very similar.
And at heart they are all good people, the fact you do these podcasts, yes, I know it’s a business but you and most of your guests have genuine empathy. Just like the people of my community

Love the interview and the conversation. The one thing I cant beat, and it's not for lack or trying, chronic pain for nearly 15 years, that's one thing I cant shake and it's led me to Spirituality and Meditations but most of all, patience. There's still only so much pain one can take and getting up to be knocked back down and in more pain than you were before. Thats got me beat and I've lost my two absolute Best Friends to suicide so the thoughts run through my head everyday but I've got 4 sons and two Grandsons so if anything, as bad as the pain is and the amount of time I don't get out, Depression, Anxiety and all that. I swore I wouldn't do that to the kids. I just need a Miracle, Simple as that unless this is Gods Plan all along 🙏🏻 💙✌️

I do believe this… but I wonder what the purpose of the lessons are? What’s the end game? Is there one? If we learn all the lessons, what happens?

You learn your lesson and you grow from it not to make the same mistake again. Everything happens for a reason but sometimes we don’t know it is. We can’t see it

People need to be careful in telling others that they have “chosen” their trauma, and that it was actually for their benefit. Not everyone’s trauma can be explained so easily. For example, David Goggins described in his book an event he witnessed as a child - a boy ran up to his school bus and the driver didn’t see him - and the bus flattened the boy’s head in front of his mother and all the children. The mother’s screams were so visceral Goggins explained it as sounding like an animal, and the mother ripped her hair out of her head with her hands. I just wonder, if victims of tragedy like this were in front of the speakers, would they still say they “actually chose this”? If so, what could would come of this? People may take comfort in being able to explain trauma but some things are ok to leave unexplained, and just sit in solidarity with victims of the unspeakable.
I agree. One disturbing trend in New Age/spirituality is people saying that their souls chose their traumas pre-birth or experienced them due to their past life deeds. I refuse to believe that all traumas/deaths are "chosen" by the soul...some things are accidents and cannot be explained. How can children who die early in shootings or rape victims decide to "choose" those experiences so "the Source can learn?" It victimizes people, blaming them for things they can't control...and creates karmic loops where people have to reincarnate again and again. Contrary to most, I think that souls have a right to not learn any lessons from tragic moments until they are ready. I feel like I have to race to escape reincarnation and amend all the karmas I don't know about. As an ex-atheist/skeptic, this "choosing sufferings" concept has made me lose trust in both the universe and in my own higher self.

So, how do I connect with my spirit guides? I feel like I am stuck & lost at the same time. How do I know what my lessons are and how many? Ever since my aunt passed away from Covid in the very early months of the pandemic, I felt like the life has been slowly draining out of me. I have been self isolating for 4 years, putting on a brave face but not enjoying my life. At the end of last year however I became angry and shut down. I no longer had motivation to do anything that gave me some sort of joy, I have lost the motivation to look for a job and I have began to recognize that I think I’m fine (I have a job and I am being productive in voice over work) but the reality is I’m not doing any of that. I’m afraid that now I have become disconnected from reality and just don’t care at all anymore.
How do I connect with my spirit guides? How do I find my path again? I feel like I’m doing life on my own and as a result I’ve been stuck and hopeless for a long time.
I’m 40 female, childhood trauma, c-ptsd, angry at life, living at home with my dad, stuck and lost.

Numbers definitely play into spirituality. Spirit is always trying to connect with us. Of numbers work for you, that’s where you will receive! ❤
I see synchronicities regularly. I know it’s a type of communication but I don’t fully understand the message. I’ll see things like 10:10 or 11:11 on the clock, repeating numbers on receipts, etc. I see 747 quite a bit. That number must have meaning. One day I’ll figure it out

i lived in india and was in contact with enlightened masters. wayne dyer was definitely not enlightened. also, enlightened spirits do not reincarnate, they dissolve into consciousness. wayne dyer was definitely a great teacher and evolved human being, but he still had many emotional dramas like the interaction with his mother and children, divorce, sexual & ego drama, plagiarism issues and ofcourse illness. and i LOVE wayne dyer, and have no judgement, he just wasnt enlightened or rather, mentally yes, spiritually no, as described by the buddhists and hindus.
Can people be reincarnated thousands of times?
