I'm blown away every time I watch this. Friggin beast of a device. Wish I could track one down. It'd save years of my life, and I'd sure sleep better at night. 👍
Used to use one of these in Melbourne in late 1950 's early 60's in family demolition business for dropping large trees and bringing down buildings .Had a 2 stage gear so once the tree started falling you would kick it into next gear to speed up the pull and maintain control over the fall of the tree .Great invention ,made for a very safe work environment .
Guys, hang chain or similar over the pull lines to dampen them. That cable looks very sturdy but if there was a break, it could do you some serious damage.
Freaking sweet lol I can't believe how awesome that is! I've been grubbing out trees this last week and stumbled upon the monkey grubber haha awesome video! Historical record
Should have rigged it through a pulley at the base of a couple trees to pull the tree down in the opposite direction from you so you don’t have to have it fall onto your position Looks sketchy to me, standing in the spot a tree is about to fall on I’ve never pulled a tree down before though so what do I know
Hi James, there is a small leaver on the side that my brother taps in with his foot then pulls out with his hand, that is usually enough but sometimes you also have to line-up the square bit the handle fits onto (not on the drum, the other one) to the centre point of its arc of travel then the drum will spin freely. I hope this answers your question.
