- The blind Veteran playthrough of the infamous CoD MWIII 2023 campaign is here; I simply couldn't wait to experience it after loving the terrible cringe of II, and then hearing everyone's reaction to this. It's been a long journey playing every single Call of Duty game, and this represents the final main-series hurdle to clear. Once again, there's a too-long review at the end discussing this jewel of a game.

Someone pointed out the new Makarov looks like Ben Shapiro and that immediately elevates my opinion on the campaign to a solid 3/10
Let's say, hypothetically, you buried your enemy alive. In this scenario, I would be able to escape, and wouldn't it be reasonable to assume that I could continue to cause trouble? Therefore, it is of the utmost importance that you never bury your enemies alive.

Hilarious how they turned Makarov into a typical villian that kills one if his own subordinates to show how evil he is, compared to the original Makarov that gave off a sort of a serious no jokes version of the Heath Ledger Joker
He just exudes soyboy in this game. Terrible recreation of his character.
It's such a dumb cliché at this point and I honestly do not understand why so many hack-writers resort to it
OG Makarov didn't need to prance about killing his own men, he *immediately* established himself as dangerous and a threat to be taken seriously by committing the attack in "No Russian" and killing Allen without warning
Heck, Makarov might've had one of, if not *the* best track record for killing Protagonists and Player Characters:
- Pvt. Allen
- Soap
- Andrei Harkov
- Yuri
And you could make an argument for him being at least partially responsible for the Deaths of Grinch, Truck and Sandman, considering the Diamond Mine belonged to Makarov and the Ultra Nationalists. (Though Griffen is a minor character from CoD4 that reappeared in MW3, he was *also* killed by Makarov's men)
At least four characters with the low estimate, up to eight characters with the high estimate. OG Makarov didn't fuck around

I love how MWII wanted to really hammer home that soap and ghost didn't get along at all until their bonding moment in Graves' warcrime funtime mission, but now in this game they've been working together since 2019

the events in this game contradict the two ending scenes in the last game as well. nobody knew what they were doing with this one.

@@mercenarydelta7351 to give the barest of credit to the game (though I only know this because I literally watched S0ur's MWII play-through today), the Konni group does show up briefly in the MWII campaign proper. They were the guys who ambushed Shadow Company and stole the missiles in the first place.

I didn't even notice the "male flight attendant" jumps out of the plane after makarov with no chute present
Ghost says that the gas is a better version of Sarin, even though Sarin gas is colorless so apparently they decided to give this version a cartoony green tint just to let you know it's poisonous.
It's so clearly meant to be Nova 6 but they walked it back last minute or something lmao
@@scarlettNET I've always thought that the MW2019 and now MWIII gas is supposed to be Nova 6 or a variant of it. They never namedrop it, but we know that the new MW games take place in the same universe as some of the Black Ops games. It's definitely plausible. 😅

Great video S0ur! I'm No Russian™ but seeing the return of Makarov was Just Like Old Times™! I particularly enjoyed the moment at 6:27, when your montage started. When I saw this video in my recommended at lunch (which I take at 1:41 PM) , I knew I couldn't Let it Pass™. I said "Break's Over™, We Are Leaving™!"

Makarov having seemingly three different false flags all kinda just flop despite being successful attacks is honestly some unintended comedy. Same for him personally showing up to the airplane he intends to detonate so he can twirl his moustache at the woman when his plan hinges seemingly on people livestreaming her for the 30s they all collectively have left and him being there would probably tip people off it was his doing.
The most shocking change for me has been that Price lost his iconic OG MW2 bald spot

remember price carrying soap through Paris and you giving cover? The music, the soap slowly getting weaker by the blood loss and price getting more and more desesperated to save his friend, in the end you see the most composure guy you know lost his shit for a moment and giving soap in his death table, the 1911 from the cod 4. And even in his last moment, soap tell price about makarov knowing yuri, even in his last breath he accomplished his duty. THATS WAS FUCKING AWESOME... well, about this new mw, its pure shit. remember shepard death in mw2 OG, fucking awesome. Remember Soap death in mw3 OG, fucking emotional. Remember No Russian, the devs had some BIG BALLS. Remember making part of the cutscenes when the soldiers had a interation with each other and you watch from a perspective of another soldier, that was awesome. Remember the Eiffel tower dropping in MW3 OG, awesome. Remember the white house fight in mw3 OG, rad. Remember Price launching the missiles to explode in the atmosphere and EMP the russians troops and give a chance to the americans to turn the tide of the fight in washington, thats WAS FUCKING COOL. I legitimately forgot Alex “died” in MW 2019, and do not keep up with MP/Warzone season cutscenes, so it just went right over my head that he was suddenly alive again. But maybe that’s what Activision was counting on 💀

If you dont close the door on the missile in Payload by the timer ends, nothing happens. No cutscene, no alternative mission ending. Just a mission failed screen, despite other missiles on the same target getting there anyways. Meaning it literally did not matter
Happy I was able to provide the means for you to play this absolute work of art. You certainly didn't disappoint with this one. I went into my playthrough knowing that it was terrible and also not knowing anything that happened in MWII (other than watching Will play Alone while he was getting his account ready for you lol) Even as someone with pretty much no nostalgia for the original MW series I found the references and recycled plot points in this game incredibly frustrating. And i'm sure you noticed how much less I had unlocked for the later OCMs as I started to just get sick of them. I personally only bought the game because I had a good time playing the beta and wanted to play the multiplayer with friends, plus I was interested in at least trying the zombies, which turned out to be pretty much just DMZ again. I hate paying $70 to just play the multiplayer, but since I'll probably end up playing this game next year too when that game is bad, I can deal with it. I'm glad you're free (for now)
Here's how Konni appeared: season 4, Nikto from MW2019 s1 returned and had new buddies, Konni Group, which are Makarov's private army and in preparation for his escape they attacked Urzikstan and the ULF, in which Alex and Farah hired Graves and Shadow Company.
Nikto has literally zero relevance, the only thing that changed for him is he's even more insane now

It's fucking hilarious how nothing was accomplished in the story, besides Shepard finally being killed. Like, the team did all that shit, and Soap died, just for none of it to matter. Makarov is still alive, and got away with his crimes
My only problem with the ending is that the player doesn't even get to kill Shepperd. like, all the classic CoD villains the player gets to the shoot. But nah, cutscene :/

Nice silenced helicopter at 1:14:50, where they can have a nice and quiet conversation standing right next to it. I wonder if it uses the same technology as the silenced crossbow.

So the Chimera, the AR with the P90 Mag, is a real gun. It’s called the AR5.7 and it’s literally just an AR Upper that can take P90 mags and fires 5.7 ammo. It also ejects the shells from the mag well so you can throw a gutted AR mag in to catch the discarded casings.
It’s a cool gun and I really like it a lot and am saving up to buy the Upper and build my own soon.
it's also completely impractical and would not be fielded by any military or special forces unit ever. tbh same goes for the weird p90/magpul pdr monstrosity you get in the snow level

I think it's entirely die to how his facial hair just looks like it isn't there. He does have facial hair but you just can't see it. Make it more visible and he will look sooooo much better

the interrogation scene was actually very genius because if you look at the price tag on mw3 you can see it’s 70$ which means the dlc is pointed to rich people and what’s most rich people’s fear you guessed it loosing money

To your point about the MW reboot trilogy villains accomplishing nothing... Hollywood writing has declined so badly that every villain now is simultaneously a bigger caricature of "evil" than in decades past but also incompetent to the point of parody. They don't even have to balls to write antagonists that get away with grandiose plans before ultimately being thwarted. In MW2, Makarov successfully started WW3. In BF3, the villains nuked Paris. Now, we get alt-Makarov doing some petty false flag attacks that don't raise the stakes in any way whatsoever.
P.S. I'd like for you to play Black Ops 1 for the channel. My favorite CoD campaign of all time and the closest CoD gets to "actual" good writing.

46:15 yes they do make a top mounted AR conversion, it's the AR 57 designed to take P90 magazines, ejects straight out the bottom through the magwell where the 5.56 mags would go in.

In DMZ one of the factions you'd complete missions for was the english "Crown" which turned out to be a front for Konni. They were introduced about 8 months ago in dmz with many cryptic hints/messages pointing towards konni

Kind of a longshot, but would you ever consider checking out some of the older Medal of Honor campaigns? Lotta fun memories with those ones, they felt real similiar to OG cod campaigns.
Price being so suddenly expressive and emotional compared to his more composed, stoic self in MW2019 is one of the things I haven't seen pointed out in the comments yet; but it's so distracting lmao. lmaoing that people expected MW3's campaign to be some in depth and interactive sandbox along the lines of MGS5 when in reality it was more like Battlefield 1/5's campaign.
They're still not even close, those games at least went in developed around the open world, and were much better designed for it lmao, these missions are literally just recycled BR maps with randomly thrown in objectives for the hell of it, with the only effort being in the VA and cutscenes that were slotted in
One of the biggest problems with this reboot series is the disconnect between tone and plot. Everyone is treating these conflicts as seriously as they did in the original series, but instead of Russians marching in the streets of D.C. and Paris, its a PMC getting manhandled by Farah Karim in a random port in a fake Caucasian/Middle Eastern country. The tone the characters have do not match the stakes the plot has set
