Enjoy!
the very last part of this video made a fully grown man like me, cry. and yes, boy do i wish i were 18 again
Saw George live in the late 80s, what a treat, ALWAYS wonderful and now that i'm on the verge of 68 years, not the 20 something i was at that time ,,, it hits home MORE,,, i wish i WAS 18 again
One died not quite too old, the other way too young, but both were definitely born to be in the spotlight while here on Earth. Two immense talents; both very much beloved.
The wet'nin in the eyes just started.
Somewhere in Heaven, George and John are singing to a universal audience. Sometimes we can hear them, in our heads and in our dreams.
Both of these men left the world a much better place than they found it. We should all be so fortunate.
So very sweet. And it's hard to believe but true -- George was 85 when they filmed this and now, on this coming New Years Eve 2023, that will be JOHN'S 80th birthday. God rest them both, they deserve that. John will ALWAYS be my favorite person. (Other than my SON, of course.)
George was 85 years old in this performance. What a great entertainer! His voice is still on pitch.
I am 70 years old and I look back over my life and ask myself what would I done differently. The reality is that there is very little I would have changed. My only regret is that I wish I could do it all over again. I truly wish I was 18 again!
to all you young people out there, sorry you missed it
Maybe they're both where they're18 again -- forever and ever, finding a new form of happiness each and every day. R.I.P., Gentlemen.
I always thought it adorable the way John would kiss George on the face.John was such a softie and George was a lovely funny granddad type. they worked well together.
AT 82 NOT ONLY DO I RELATE, BUT TWO SUCH JEWELS...I SO FORTUNATE TO HAVE FOUND...RIP GENTS
On this day in 1980 {April 20th} "I Wish I Was Eighteen Again" by George Burns peaked at #49 on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; it had entered the Top 100 on January 19th, 1980 and spent 10 weeks on the chart...
When the song peaked at #49 George Burns was exactly 84 years and 3 months old, thus becoming the oldest person to make Billboard's Hot Top 100...
Mr. Burns passed away on March 9th, 1996 at the age of 100...
May he R.I.P.
"Oh God!" was terrific. Comic and philosophical genius.
Tell the truth, don't you wish you were 18 again? Me too. George Burns was a Journeyman at joke timing. His songs were perfect before they left his lips. How I miss both these guys. Thanks John Denver, for loving old persons. A balm for the merry old soul...
Two great proformers John and George...May they both Rest in Peace!
What a powerful Song
I wish that #JohnDenver & #GeorgeBurns Were Still around And Singing "I wish I was 18 Again"

Yes thank you
I am a 100% non-believer, but Denver and Burns... Burns was always the image of God in my head. Denver was always the personification of what God wanted on the Earth. They're both amazing.
Are you still a non-believer?
Pra mim sera sempre a imagem que tenho de Deus
I heard this song as a young, I'm approaching 68 and I can't hold back the tears. If I could have only had a wonderful and wise talk with my eighteen year old self. Don't we all.

Speechless. What a great video.
I was 18 when this song was realized. It was 1976, the year I graduated from high school. I was on top of the world. And George Burns was right, I didn't really understand. Today I am 56, and understand very well. Beautiful song and perfectly poignant and absolutely true....
you were on top of the world looking down on creation and the only explanation you could find....

WOW! John Denver and George burns together again after their winning chemistry in their smash hit "Oh god"!
How is it possible that John Denver would be 70 now...
I know right? I'm in my 40s and I went to a JD tribute show and everyone in the audience.was so old. Like 70 plus. When did that happen?
Ironically, Another John and George combo we miss. Bet they're a great quartet right now.
One of my all time favorite clips of John Denver and George Burns! I never tire of seeing/hearing this!
Now, as I turn 60, I can truly relate to this song!
What a great song and no one could have sang it better than George.

my grandfather, doc williams of 1170am wwva, loved this song. I have a recording of him playing and singing it at the kitchen table.
Wow these 2 are 1 of kind. RIP George and John
This was a great special! Ironically, the last time I saw John in concert was on the day George Burns passed...3/9/96. John closed the show with "Perhaps Love" and dedicated it to George...as he played the last few chords, he said "Goodnight George"....goosebumps! Thanks for posting.
March1953, your goosebumps have now become a lump in my throat and tears.
Totally awesome
Two giants of show business, now sadly both departed. R.I.P. George and John 🙏🏻
Man I miss them both so much!
all us old guys wish that
I think John Denver was the only person in the world that could tell George Burns to say “Good Night’ George” and get away with it completely and respectfully.
WOW! Goose bumps...So Beautiful,,,,,,,...3/29/20
I just listened again - this time to the end.....now the tears are dripping on the keyboard. Emotion overload, I guess.
Love this song, first heard it about 30 years ago. Such a true look at life unfortunately.
Tear jerker... Fantastic.
Can't believe that John Denver would have turned 75 this year.
Such a treasure..............
George Burns and John Denver together on stage? Oh God! Wait a minute.......
Sad, both are gone😔
I can't stop smiling when I watch this
He probably had a larger and more adoring audience in his old age than he had during his radio days.
George was great...

Thanks for sharing this. When it was first on I had recorded the audio, but lost the tape a while ago. So nice to hear them together in this sweet segment.
How ironic, I recently came across an audio tape that was recorded from our TV of this special, and I'm listening to it right now! I was around 11 at the time, and we didn't have a VCR that long ago to tape it. Wish I could see the whole thing again.
this was my moms favorite song by George burns
very very good harmony from John and his female backup.
Yeo Soon Heng Her name is Rene Armand. Yes, she’s wonderful.
this is the sentiment I try to get
sadly both of them are gone now
Someday, when I go to my reward, maybe I'll get to see these two perform. R.I.P. John Denver and George Burns.

And seven years later George Burns would appear in a film titled "18 Again!"
