I’m still so shook by what Rublev did in those final 2 sets. It was masterful. Highlights don’t give it justice. He was locked in and activated. Nothing was gonna miss. It was warrior level. I bow down.
This is true he went dumb
in the last 2 sets it was so cradty from rublev that he was hitting winners from basic rally positions
It was a slug fest!
He went on a level which Alex can never achieve and their results show for it, Rublevhas made 10 QFs in slams, all on different surfaces, has masters1000......you cant get that by going dumb@@mrmitchell4089
Will he do the same thing to nole!?
Nerves of steel in 5-6 Rublev. Those line shots.
5:19
Some of the best rallies of the year in this match. You hate to see either of them lose, but there can only be 1 who advances :(
Great match.
Despite some of the hater comments, it was thrilling. Then Andrey took over. But that was still entertaining.
"Of the year" sounds so funny when it's only been 22 days
I really enjoyed the Match, specially how Rublev shut up the crowd.
every time i see rublevs forehand i just think “how in the world does he do that” it looks like it’s sped up 2x
Well done Andre. Way to come back.
À bagel at the end.. Wooooww
6:53 lmaoooo that rublev scream. Dudes adrenaline levels must have been off the charts
Like Kyrgios did in 2022 against Medvedev
Rublev the demon slayer
Used beast breathing in the final 2 sets😂😂
Rublev is quite a demon on the court himself, sometimes his wildly aggressive playing style pays off. It’s usually not enough against the best defender in the world (Novak) or the best offensive player (Alcaraz) but he is capable of beating almost everyone else.
@@lightspeednate he is one dimensional... In 2nd,&3rd round he was coming to the net... Today he didn't come to the net and looked down and out in the 3rd set... But went in the zone and started to smash everything in site...
One thing though his backhand has come a long way
Yeah, he’s frustrating to watch. But I think he started to show that he would win this match in the 2nd set. Even though De Minaur won that set, Rublev dominated it by hitting most balls extremely crisply. Then suddenly Rublev had his mental breakdown episode in 3rd set where he questioned himself and whether it was worth trying battle this match out.
Ultimately he was smacking the ball for most of the match and he noticed that de minaur was just trying to survive at certain points , so he was sold on battling this one out. Rublev got lucky on painting the line a bunch though.
His backhand is not the one used to be... just impressive
Especially the inside out one. That’s not a shot you see that often offensively.
I never would have thought after that 3rd set and the way it finished, that Rublo will turn it around the way he did, truly remarkable
So proud of Rublev!!🫶🎾
Having all of Australia behind you and getting bageled in the fifth set
the cheers and claps when Rublev does a fault
That's what happens when Rublev finds the 6th gear in the 5th set. Incredible.
The fact Rublev made De Minaur exhausted is out of the world
this is some insane tennis, absolutely love both their play styles
This kind of energy and concentration and NOT GIVING UP to me makes Rublev a "Super Star" and his strength comes from above-and he knows it- and he is proud of it; and thanks God for his success!
Андрей,ты лучший! Верим в тебя! Ждём побед!!!!!💗💗💗
Great match and just love how Rublev dramatically overcome two set loses to win for the last set! ❤
Great job Rublev! What a match!
What a clash between these two.
You should be a superhuman to hit each shot with 100% power like Rublev for 4 hours
Good job Rubi!!✨
Knew Rublev had to make another QF 😂 Hoping he can pull through this time, but Sinner will not be easy.
Unfortunately, he lacks the complete game of top players. I like Rublev, but Sinner will prevail, likely in 3 or 4 sets unless he has a really bad day.
I’m a big fan of Sinner, but Rublev could win the QF. His backhand has improved greatly, and he is utilizing defensive slices well. He really proved something beating De Minaur at his home slam after losing sets two and three in a tiebreak. The crowd was against him and De Minaur was playing really well.
this AO '24 version of Rublev will give Sinner a lot of troubles, he just seem different
Rublev in fifth set, exhausted and cramping:
“So anyways, I started blasting”
Rublev's forehand is the cleanest shot in tennis. Such power and precision and full blast every single time.
That’s some big boy tennis, you do not see this caliber very often. True pleasure to watch. Hats off to Rublev, what a beast.
Rublev with a backhand and net game is dangerous. Glad for him
best match ever in this ao open 2024❤
Djokovic himself said Rublev was playing so well that he was metaphorically choking Djokovic. That's how good of a player Rublev is
Watching the Demon get bagelled brings me pure joy. Awesome job, Rublev!
It shouldn’t affect you that much
@@imalwaysright and yet it does. 🤷♂️
@@msalvarez74that’s not a flex but ok I guess 🤷🏼♀️
Bweh! Well done Andrey!! 👏
The power of BWEH strikes again! 💪❤🔥
Another comebacker by Rublev. I swear he plays better when he's down
That's coz he stops being tense
What a game, I love to see Alex running, he is so FAST
If Demi's guns were as strong as his wheels, he could be top 5.
Bravo! To both. Great battle.
This is a major reality check for de Minaur. He may have won in the Davis cup in 2 sets, but this is the big leagues. You have to last five sets to survive. Congrats to Rublev on an epic beat down.
That’s not a reality check for de Minaur. Rublev played unreal, take a look at those backhand longline shots he took. If you play tennis, you know how hard they are. They completely crushed de Minuars taktik of playing cross court rallies to circumvent Rublevs forehand.
Speed vs brute force. Who wins?
Glad Rublev won.
Rublev is a more complete player, he can geberate his own pace or use the rival, de minaur only knows how to do the second and start to run
@@diegosotomiranda4107 Well, De Minaur is also a very capable net rusher. He doesn't use his speed exactly for just defense. If he can, he tries to get there as quickly as possible and return with a counter strike. He's actually quite aggressive with his speed. Obviously, he does struggle to generate his own pace. And I have a feeling that it might be similar to Murray's reason.
last year's Rublev would've lost it afer the 3rd set; glad his mentality is getting better this year
Rub’s forehand stroke is one of the best on the tour now……
I hope the slight change in form doesn't strain him, though.
Once again, Rublev proved what a clutch warrior he is🙌 He humbled De Minaur and shut up that pathetic crowd
So many incredible gets here by De Minaur. Well done young man. Nothing to be ashamed of.
Any other ending wouldn't be fair.... Congrats Rublev! Also Alex, for you, this is plenty success, you should be happy with it.
Wow! Good job Rublev!
Rublev is probably the most improved player among the ATP top 5 when compared to their older version!
If he can play like this for a whole GS tournament, he will win it.
this is going to be a big year for him. I really like the way he's been hitting through his shots including his backhand from late 23' and staying more composed on court! at LEAST his first grand slam Semi-Final I predict
He's not beating Sinner
No way.. He can't beat Sinner without net game, also he isn't smart enough like Daniil
What a game by Rublev
What a game! What a Match!😂😂🎉🎉🎉
Rublev should have won second set 6-3 instead of giving away the set to de minaur after tie break. He sometimes loses it needlessly
De Minaur is great, but today's loss showed exactly where he is with his game. He just doesn't have the kind of sustaining firepower to win matches 2 weeks in a row in a slam.
your assessment is completely wrong
He doesn't lack the stamina to do it 2 weeks in a row but he does lack the firepower to trouble the very best players so it's unlikely he'll ever get that chance.
he ran fast in the first few sets, he ran slow in the last two sets
@@Chris-ln9cz No it's not actually. De Minaur does lack firepower and relies too much on running every ball down. You might want to keep quiet on this one, because its clear that you don't know much about tennis.
@@Chris-ln9czHe’s 100% right. Rublev today, but the problem would be even more clear against Sinner or Alcaraz.
03:17 "I had the whole f'in court open...!" 😆
I saw that too haha😂. And he wasn't wrong.
😂😂😂😂 thanks for translation. He was not wrong 😩😩😩
These two are so fun to watch when they are playing against each other because they exactly have the game what can destroy other.
Minaur lucho como valiente en un partido por demás emocionante, con su publico q no dejó de alentar...pero Rublev mostró toda su experiencia y pasó a la siguiente ronda 🥎
De Minar will have career very similar to David Ferrer. Super talented, but never possessing a weapon strong enough to overcome the likes of Djokovic, Sinner and Alcaraz in a Best of 5 tournament. He's also very much like his mentor Hewitt. But unlike Demin, Leyton reaped the benefits of a weak period in tennis, just before Fed took the stage completely.
And Nishikori
Ele teria sorte se tivesse a carreira do Ferrer.
I think Leyton have a agressive serve (no one of the best ) and sometimes with his backhand make damage. I meant Leyton has a litle more arms than his consistency. And Maybe De Minaur is a litle faster than Leyton
Surely? Think, its more Rublev like Ferrer)
@@lampard6190for results, yes. But not for lack
Of firepower. In Rublev’s case, it’s a lack of variety and true net game.
Rublev could teach tennis. Hes that good.
Молодец,Рублёв,вперёд,мы гордимся тобой!
Brilliant fight by Rublev and the delicious bagel in the fifth perplexed the whole trailer park.🤣🤣🤣
What a performance!
These comments sure get personal, particularly when replying to a comment. Take it easy people! All these guys are doing is hitting a little, fuzzy bal at each other. Spirited debate and comments are great, by why fall into this personal crap? Sheesh! (Of course, "Yeah, what do you do that's so great!" with sure be a reply here, if there are any replies.) Aside from that, what a great match! I saw only this clip, so I was astonished to suddenly see Andre ahead 5-0 in the final set. Kudos to both of them and their obvious mutual respect at the net.
Wow! Some of those rallies had me screaming in a high pitch. Baseline-rally bonanza!
First off, how do they have the stamina to play at this intensity for 5 sets? Absolutely incredible. And If Rublev doesn't win a couple slams in the next 12 months I'll quit watching tennis lol. They both played unreal but Rublev is next level.
rublev we need this cool mindset against sinner please!!!!! always rooting for you!!!!
Brilliant match!
De minaur reminds us tennis will never fully become a power game. Then bows out
Vamos Rublev!!!
Need full match on this 😭
Poor De Minaur, I feel sorry for him, but happy for Rublev too.
De minaur has to be super annoying to play. All he does is get every ball back and wait for a mistake and rarely has any offense of his own. Glad Rublev eventually blasted him off the court
Exactly.
He's a typical "pusher"...
It's as annoying as it is effective. I have a lot of respect for players that can win matches out of sheer tenacity and consistency. That being said, Rublev's game is much more exciting so I'm glad he won.
Why are you talking about Novak here?
You also arnt gonna to win majors trying to hit the ball as hard as possible everyshot, Rublev needs more variety to his game to compete for majors
As I’ve often been told about Daniil and Murray, there can’t be a pusher at this level. But, Alex is a counterpuncher. And he is quite good at it. But I will always back a consistent big hitter in a five set format. Best of three will always be Alex’s best chance. I don’t see him winning a slam, ever. He can win some 1,000s someday.
Didn't watch the whole match but I'm shocked at the bagel in the 5th, wow.
Rublev just gets better with every match.
Some high level tennis in this one
Love you, Rublev!
Cross slayed the Demon.
Was there ever a doubt?
de Minaur has that Aussie pluck. Great to watch. Sorry he didn't go through but Rublev went full machine.
De Minaur is developing quickly, will be a force to reckon with soon.
Still much to improve, and will be quite hard to achieve. He lacks the thing it is the hardest to achieve, firepower. His strength stamina, defense and speed is nothing extraordinary in this competition.
Rublev lo desgastó hasta dominarlo. Enorme partido con dos tenistas que entregaron su alma. Felicidad por Andrey. Cada vez mejor y mejor. Me emociona
Gran nivel de tenis entre estos dos jugadores.
A.R. found how to break D.M. after the 3rd set. Like D.M., exact and accurate counter shots are the one instead of continuous hard shots.
I like when ADM loses bc he seems to think he's hot sh*t even though his groundstrokes, serve, and volleys are distinctly second tier.
That said, respect to how well he's played this year so far. I'm surprised Rublev stopped him.
Always nice to see De Minaur losing. And in Australia, the better
the two biggest dogs on tour ! absolut grinders! crazy match
6:50😂😂😂
Красавчик Рубалек
Писеееец... Вот Это битва 🤘🏻🙃🤘🏻
I got the Hewitt vibe watching de Minaur.
just watching them trading blows back and forth my legs were sore, 2nd n 3rd set highlights especially
How can anyone possibly play better tennis than this?
Deminaur doesn't have anything special to be a Slam champion. For him to win one, the stars have to align.
Que sólido Rublev
this was an epic hard hitting match, hate to see one of them go...
Rublev just outgunned de Minaur in those last two sets even with de Minaur’s fast legs. Rublev will meet a much tougher and fresher Sinner next.
Top quality match
Rublev le dolió bastante lo que paso en torneo en Turin, fue un punto de quiebre 🔥
what was in that drink??? 6:19 lol 6:53
Magic rocket fuel
Electrolytes
Good enough game for center court I guess. Still would've preferred to see Djokovic get the card but it is what it is
I agree Highlights don’t do justice to Rublev. Maybe it was put together by an Alex fan 🫣🤪
De Minaur was mentally zapped after losing the 4th. His stamina was crumbling alongside his morale in the 5th. De Minaur winning the second and 3rd set with small margins of both 7-6 sets took everything out of his fighting dander and morale. The fact “Ruddy Rublev” won 6-4 in the first set and 6-3 in the fourth set, more than likely, tells you he’s better than De Minaur overall? De Minaur, at this point, seems he may beat Rublev 1 out of 4 matches? 1 out of 3 the most? As guessing. Great match! Thank you for the highlights.
You make good highlights but why spoling the winner in the thumbnail? I'll never get that...
Alex tiene una defensa increíble pero le falta pedirrrrlo en los montón clave
