I would enjoy hearing your thoughts, experiences, suggested resources on homesteading. My wife and I have a small acreage dream, but it is some ways off into the future for now.
Start small, a five gallon bucket and a tomato. In a large ish flower pot grow a salsa pot, tomato, onion and some cilantro. It’s a start and gives you the fizz when you grow something. There are a lot of good books out there, hit the local library and see what they have.
Savinelli uses the denomination Christmas Pipe for their annual high grade very limited numberered Christmas comemorative pipe. St. Nicholas is used for their low/mid range holyday offering.
Excellent video, brother! Those are some fine looking Christmas pipes. I got my first Christmas pipe last year with the Savinelli 673 St. Nicholas. I barely missed out on the Rattray Yule which I still get upset about. Thank you for your continued content and faithfulness to our Lord. Still waiting for that rosary guide 😉
Very nice pipe & I just finished smoking my Peterson 2024 Christmas pipe with Sutliff Honey Chocolate. Really enjoy your channel and looking forward for more. Happy Holidays from your brother in Christ!🙏🙏🙏
So many thoughts! I have a history degree, okay is a social sciences degree with a heavy emphasis on history. My American history prof was a revisionist professor and taught that. Hated it, but he was the most memorable. He taught us to think, not just regurgitate what we learned on a test. So yes, I learned a revisionist history but did spend time learning non-revisionist. If he told me about a book, I found the opposite viewpoint book and read that and asked him about it. Did I learn about the War for Independence? No not really. Homesteading… I’ve been working on my current homestead for nearly a decade now. Due to many many issues, I’ve managed To keep and cultivate a good sized garden, and amend the soil. Still needs a crap ton of work, but it’s doing better. My goal is to produce and preserve enough veggies to last a year for my family, I do have 2 acres but lack the infrastructure to grow wheat or raise animals (maybe sheep). I do have chickens, and that alone has helped my soil the most. My first homestead was on a 1/3 acre lot and was mostly just a 10x20 garden in heavy clay soil. Dug about 6-8 of that clay out, backfilled with compost and man oh man that was a great garden! Produced more than my 50x50 garden is! So yeah, I would love to hear about your plans! Always interested in what others are planting and how they are planting…
It’s always a pleasure when I see a Pipe Cottage video pop up on my feed. I hope all is well and happy holidays! Side note - What beard products do you use? It’s a glorious beard my friend 🤝🏼
Just spoke with the man a moment ago. Mine will be on the way soon! And it’s my first Christmas pipe too! I’ve gotten every release you guys have collaborated on since Number One brother :) straight apple! And I’ll be doing one every release from here out!
Thank you for the video and your channel. I wonder if you would be interested in talking about the historic American pipe makers Missouri Meerschaum and Dr Grabow. I know their headquarters are relatively near to Kentucky, maybe a video tour and interview would be possible. MM makes a Christmas Pipe, so I’m just saying. Also, a question about starting to live off the land. You said a few times that young people should start doing this and that. What if you’re OLD and don’t really want to live the rest of your life in the townhome? Do you believe there’s an age by which it’s just too difficult to begin living off the land? Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Film the conference if you can, would love to hear more on the homesteading ideas. I am 34, live in Pennsylvania, 1 child and a wife. Looking to be as independent as possible and not dependent on the MAN!
I recently talked to Mark as somehow I have a problem signing in! I have several of his pipes and love how they smoke. I have the pipe cottage pipe also. I am a convert also to the catholic church. I did smoke pipes in college [I'm 72!] and my wife died over 10 years ago and I had not smoked much since then but at 71 I decided to smoke a pipe again and quickly developed PAD! Thanks for all you do in vids and Your witness. I have 2 BA and s MSW. at 72 I don't think I will be joining your book club but I agree university degrees do not teach American history.
Will there be a recording of the conference? I'm in Japan, can't get to stateside conferences, but I am on my way to the store to get a pregnancy test so my wife can believe my word that she's pregnant with child number 3!
I am looking for help with a tobacco. I have called and asked every pipe shop I know and seems nobody knows what I am talking about. So if there is some way to talk with you, maybe you know, or can steer me in the right direction. Thank you so much.
Sutliff is shutting down within the next few months, possibly as early as January. Some of the Sutliff blends will be discontinued as production moves to Europe.
Have you read “Justifying Revolution”? Interested in your thoughts on the moral and ethical implications of revolting against a king, especially as a Catholic.
This is something that I struggle with. I have an extremely difficult time believing that the Revolution was morally justified, especially since I became Catholic. I ought to read that book.
I have many thoughts on this. I have often thought, since my early 20s, that secession from Britain came with serious disadvantages. I plan to touch on this in my book club lectures at some point this spring.
Hi Alan, not directly related to the video but the channel Stuff & Things just dropped a bombshell about what's happening with STG, and it seems like even brands like Peterson might be on the chopping block...the industry and hobby is going in a really bad direction with this near monopoly - are you keeping an eye on all this? All the blends I enjoy are about to disappear and it's awful.
Just came across this channel, bought my first pipe and joined the book club I can’t wait!
I’ve purchased two Mark Tinsky pipe cottage pipes and I absolutely love them
Best pipes there are 😎
Have a beautiful day! Greetings from beautiful Greece.

I did not know that! Thanks for sharing.
I picked one of these up this year at my local pipe shop. 1st Christmas pipe actually. Plan to smoke it Christmas Day.
Those are some really pretty pipes that Mark Tinsky has. I couldn't resist...

beautiful pipes
The doctor has really let the beard go wild. I love it!
I died laughing when he said "I'm tired of talking right now" 😂
I have a Savinelli Foresta Rusticated that looks very much like that first Christmas pipe you showed.
Those are all gorgeous pipes brother, I'm looking forward to my Bing pipe from Catholic Pipes.
The only Bing pipe I know of that is of good quality is that from Savinelli. I know nothing of the pipe you speak of.
Very nice pipe & I just finished smoking my Peterson 2024 Christmas pipe with Sutliff Honey Chocolate.
Really enjoy your channel and looking forward for more.
Happy Holidays from your brother in Christ!🙏🙏🙏
Just smoking some Honey Chocolate in my new Mac Arthur cob long stem. What a wonderful flavor filled tobacco!
Merry Christmas to all 🙏🙏🙏
So many thoughts!

That's a 2019 savinelli Saint Nicholas if you're interested in knowing that. I've got one as well.
Just spoke with the man a moment ago. Mine will be on the way soon! And it’s my first Christmas pipe too! I’ve gotten every release you guys have collaborated on since Number One brother :) straight apple! And I’ll be doing one every release from here out!

Good Lord I wish I could afford that first Christmas pipe you had up🙏🙏

Sir, I have the beard and that bent stem pipe is very much what I'm looking for. How would you phrase the search for such a beauty?
Also, the book club is very interesting.
Well I wish I knew you were going to be in Hickory. 30 minutes from me. Enjoy Catawba county!
Check out the Kentucky coffee tree

I liked it when you smoked a pipe while recording your videos.
Savinelli had the st Nicholas and a second release that is called the Christmas pipe
I recently talked to Mark as somehow I have a problem signing in! I have several of his pipes and love how they smoke. I have the pipe cottage pipe also. I am a convert also to the catholic church. For your Cockatiel...Harrison's Bird Food.
I thought my Boswell Christmas bing was pretty, but yours is gorgeous. Want to trade?
civil war is an awesome topic i went to grove city college i just took one class in civil war but we read through the shelby foote trilogy
Just out of curiosity, why is your Pipe Cottage Stamp on the pipe a pentagram inside a summoning circle?
Whats the add a rating option for $45
Will there be a recording of the conference? I'm in Japan, can't get to stateside conferences, but I am on my way to the store to get a pregnancy test so my wife can believe my word that she's pregnant with child number 3!
Congratulations! I do believe that most of the conference will be recorded.
Book Club second 5 month section; possibly Francis Schaffers' "How Should We Then Live?" ?? -too heavy/deep, right? Just an idea. -Leon
What does the rating mean? When buying said tinskey pipe?
The more stars, the higher grade the briar (free of blemishes, quality grain pattern, etc.)
I am looking for help with a tobacco. I have called and asked every pipe shop I know and seems nobody knows what I am talking about. So if there is some way to talk with you, maybe you know, or can steer me in the right direction. Thank you so much.
What's the word about Sutliff? Should I be concerned?
Sutliff is shutting down within the next few months, possibly as early as January. Some of the Sutliff blends will be discontinued as production moves to Europe.
@@thepipecottage3301 I am sorry to hear that. Thank you for the kind reply.
I bet 99.9% had to use Howard Zinn as a text book too.
hello american treasure
make your own bourbon and trade it for coffee. avoid the monetary system completely.

I wonder if AOC has read the Federalist Papers.😅
I doubt she's read a cereal box, much less anything that matters.

I saw that video, but there’s no evidence to support most of his claims.
Ah yes. those classic Italian pagans
