Morrowind is the "GOAT" in that comparison Morrowind is the reason in oblivion and Skyrim you can only get what 1 or 2 summons... Very very few... I remember playing Morrowind and summoning armies and walking into towns to massacre everyone I'm talking like 30 - 60 summons walking into (well "levitating" in my case) the main town watching your summons and guards battle...... So sad I didn't get to see you find the dead old man on the path going left out of the spawn town...... His pants👖👖👖👖👖 alone break the game..... So many memories... FYI yes you can kill shop keepers loot all their inventory and use their main chest as infinite storage bins until eventually they get to full and crash your game beyond repair everytime you try and load one up

Ah Morrowind, the game where you wave a sword at an enemy for 5 minutes, they lose half their health and your sword breaks. In all seriousness this is a treat to watch, the saga of Lucy was amazing, shame you killed her, best companion.
Ah yes, the Morrowind combat system. What's better than hurting your finger by repeatedly pressing attack? Hurting your arm by repeatedly swinging uselessly. Good ol Morrowind.
"Must attack on level ground" while being attacked by 12 cliff racers in a game that takes place on the side of a mountain and has not one square inch of level ground is good childhood memories
Here's some good Morrowind advice: Yes, spell-chance is affected by fatigue. _Everything_ is affected by fatigue - even things like barter prices. Some bad Morrowind advice to balance that out though; hmm... Okay, the way you've been gesturing in people's faces with your weapon? Try that with the Ordinators in Vivec. They love it when you do that.
The guy is a dark brotherhood assassin On the PC version, he has a chance of attacking as early as level one However console versions added a quality of life feature where that guy will never attack you until at least level 6 One thing I enjoy about playing on console lol

Morrowind is probably my favourite elder scrolls game just because of it's mechanics, and watching Simon have this much trouble with it makes me feel better, I'm not the only one who was confused by the magic being tied fatigue

There are a bunch of mods that make this game more enjoyable. For starters, expansions delayed to stop the Dark Brotherhood from attacking you in your sleep. Then there are patches for the bugs. Also shield spell is for physical dmg not magical. There are a bunch of crazy rules that make this game more interesting compared to tes 4 or 5. Great play showcase btw
The sheer variety of clothes in Morrowind and Daggerfall are awesome. I can see why they had to simplify, but it was still sad omission from the later games.
I too was disappointed that the guards do jack shit when you run into town with someone trying to murder you. I tried that strategy with a naked nord that kept knocking me down before i could cast a spell
Oh man those assassins really mess up the new user experience. There are a few mods that will stop their attacks until you've either leveled up or reached a point in the story where you're important enough to attract assassins.
You're telling me! After editing I looked it up, didn't realise they were DLC guys. I do not miss the days of DLC assuming you were continuing your old save.

In order to fight the undead you have to have a glass weapon or silver weapon or an enchanted weapon. Just outside the lighthouse there's a tree stump with a lightning axe in it.
Anyone who's unhappy at seeing this is a bin fire, it's lovely to see someone happy enjoying Morrowind who doesn't know two ways to break the game before talking to the Imperial guy in Seyda Neen.
You can always choose not to use exploits. I just got the game like recently, playing my first playthrough, crazy I know I'm not going to bother learning exploits. I know 1, which is making fortify intelligence potions to make make better fortify intelligence potions, and then make a game breaking fortify strength potion or something. But I dont think I'll do that ever
Ah fresh meat to the world of Morrowind. Well as a morrowind boomer I'm obligated to tell you it's the best in the series despite the any issues it has. I will defend the combat by bring up how race and classes determine attribute and skill levels effects the dice roll mechanics for combat. But in all seriousness always great seeing someone experience morrowind and VR morrowind looks entertaining as hell. Also the Dark Brotherhood attacking is an expansion issue. Tribunal came out at a time that it was expected that people would have already established characters but never set a level cap so it is a early game issue. Mods had to be made to make it tolerable.
Randomly stumbled upon this video and gotta say - you are a very entertaining scotsman indeed. Guess I gotta check out the other stuff, huh~ I also remember there being a mod for this that ups the hit chance of everything to 100%. Would purists be freakin' furious about it? Oh yeah. Would your arms be thankful for it? Oh yeah². Would it break everything? Probably that too, yep.
Randomly found this while trying to get my openmw vr to work. It still doesn't but at least I'm entertained now anyway, lol. By the way the assassins are part of one of the DLCs and Todd in his infinite wisdom just assumed that everyone would have finished the base game by the time the DLC came out, not accounting for anyone starting a new game...

I'm not sure the Quest 2 could manage it tbh. Morrowind is an old game for sure, but the port isn't very well optimized. At least not the version I played (I think the latest version is supposed to address some performance issues).
@@TheLaughingSimon maybe but consider the fact it was on the original original Xbox and less demanding then resident evil 4 I'd say it would be easily done with the same cuts that version had with the boost if vr to help make it better and native on the quest would be another big plus considering the game and dlc would be the longest vr game on the quest to date

What did you do to your load order? Your Skyrim is looking DATED, my friend... The mishap with Ms. Punchy reminds of my first time in Skyrim VR. I accidently shield-bashed Hod while Ralof was talking with Gerdur, and the whole town of Riverwood attacked me. It was stressful... I've actually never played Morrowind, and don't really plan to, so this is fun and interesting for me. Well done :)

@@carn114 It *looks* really good in the headset as there's less visual noise so everything looks pretty crisp. It performs pretty poorly though. Better than it once did for sure, which is why I can do videos on it now, but it's pretty unopimized.

I played the shit out of morrowind back in the day was my favorite game and it makes me feel im getting all that much older. Seeing this video brought back some nostalgia but I dont think I'll play it I would rather not grind it out again cause it's alot of grind. The nerevarine!
You don't necessarily have to grind stats alot of people just play the game, and the stats they use level naturally. Apart from skills like echant and alchemy, those need to be actively leveled really
The Blades are the reason the empire failed. The Blades protect the Emperor, the Emperor trusts the Blades, but the Blades are allied with the Thieves Guide. It's a prime example of the law defeating itself. Akatosh is all about maintaining order and with this circle of chaos that is the Blades, Emperor and Thieves Guide, that order is disrupted. This is really why I hate the Blades so much. The failure of the Empire and the death of the Emperor really is their fault. On top of all this, their existence made the Emperor weak. The Emperor should have been able to defend himself without having to rely on the Blades. Uriel Septim VII didn't even know a single Dragon Shout.
Shame the skirt wasn't tartan. That would have suited you nicely. The combat put me right off when I played it. Couldn't hit an enemy right in front of me. You got further than I did...:D
it's kinda supposed to be that way. Think about it, you're a nobody who isn't really good at much. Especially if you didn't optimize your class selection well, you may suck even more than that What you're supposed to do is persist through this, and as you do make actual hits, you level that skill, and you very quickly start missing less and less as you become more skilled. The trick early game is manage your fatigue. The more fatigued you are the less likely you are to land hits. Your Luck stat also plays into this. And this only makes sense. Your character knows very little about combat and the person you're fighting may know quite abit. It makes perfect sense that it would be difficult to land a hit on someone who is more skilled than you
Yes, magic is tied to fatigue EVERYTHING is tied to fatigue If you are not skilled in that magic school, chances are you'll have shit luck at making your spells work when fatigued

There is spot of things in and around Seyda Nean, the lord ring is in a tomb up the road. That ring is essential for the game. In my opinion.

Honestly mate vanilla Morrowind VR looks better than vanilla Skyrim VR when you're actually in there. Equal parts charming and surreal.

The combat put me right off when I played it. Couldn't hit an enemy right in front of me. You got further than I did...:D
it's kinda supposed to be that way. Think about it, you're a nobody who isn't really good at much. Especially if you didn't optimize your class selection well, you may suck even more than that
What you're supposed to do is persist through this, and as you do make actual hits, you level that skill, and you very quickly start missing less and less as you become more skilled.
The trick early game is manage your fatigue. The more fatigued you are the less likely you are to land hits. Your Luck stat also plays into this.
And this only makes sense. Your character knows very little about combat and the person you're fighting may know quite abit. It makes perfect sense that it would be difficult to land a hit on someone who is more skilled than you
All you have to do is level up your stats lol
Getting ambushed by a dark brotherhood assassin at a low level isn't fun

If you are not skilled in that magic school, chances are you'll have shit luck at making your spells work when fatigued
