    This electric Chainsaw, made in Japan with 110v show cannot be used with 220v , so if want to use with 220v, need to change voltage.

    I would love to see this video with a more detailed explanation of the calculations for number of wire wraps, and wire size. I would also like to see a more detailed explanation of the process for wrapping the rotor. You are so skilled at wrapping the wire that it was hard for me to follow the process.

      yeah minkita and even dewalt do not take that much care with their products just like cast parts they will only remove what tags that keep it from functioning and only roughly

    You are either a hobbyist, or you have other reasons to do this work. Normally the cost of rewinding of such a motor would probably exceed the value of a new chainsaw, bought for proper voltage. But your work is nice and professional.

    Question should i need to rewind the rotor? Because i search it on google that rotor is universal the only need to rewind is the stator

      Yes Sure, whenever we change voltage from 100v to 200v, we need Calculate wire size .

    edit: i'm gonna see if i can do it with SCRs or TRIACs, like in a lamp dimmer,but it *MUST* be foolproof!!!

    Armature rewind round (22/4)*2 = 11 rounds, why not say 22/2=11?

      We rewind 4 time in one hole , I would like to detail . Both 110v or 220v, rewinding 4 time in one hole . *2 , it mean that for 220v longer than 110v 2 time .

    It seems to me that buying a 220v motor would be more practical than rewinding an existing one. Too much unnecessary work.

    This is so bad idea you lost your time and damaged very famous brand like Makita otherwise you have to use AC transformer from 220 volt to 110 volt to avoid all this damage.
