Todd, you really knocked it out of the park with this one. Great presentation. I love elephants always have and always will. My dream job which I'll never have is what I have seen in this video... 👍🙏
Stunning Documentary on one the greatest creatures on earth. Well done, Mate. Something to see when we come to Lao. Thank you so much for taking us along. All the best.😊😊 Jim and Harriet. Richmond. Va.
Wow. How great it is touring the jungle. Living off grade is one of the best options in times like. Nature is obviously one of the greatest and most natural way living life to the fullest. Life without nature is more of a misery. Thanks Khun Todd.
OMG Todd, this video is such a break in your already personal and in-touch video logging style and content. I have watched at least a thousand documentaries in my life and I felt so proud to be even a modest supporter of your work in Laos when I saw the intro to this one. You are a unique documentarist. As far as I can tell, from my limited knowledge and experience, if you are not becoming a master of this medium, you are definitely one of its original journeymen. See you in Laos.
Great video, Todd. Interesting and educational. Awesome to know there are people out there doing this kind of work and people like you documenting it. Thanks.
Great to see the preservation of these beautiful animals, Great work from Anabel and Mike and their wonderful staff. Looks a beautiful part of Laos ,so keep out unwanted travellers and developers ,keep it simple, keep it natural (as they probably are/will)...Cheers Todd....Kenno West Aust
Beautiful and informative. inspiring work from this video. I hope one day Laos will develop a symbiotic relationship with nature and development. that would be a beautiful sight. protecting all the nature, animals and habitats and all. Thank you.
David Attenborough would be proud of that one mate!! Great vid learnt heaps and what a great initiative..another great place to visit when in Lao they just keep coming…stay safe
At first I thought "41 minutes!!! What are you doing Toddy"... But mate, the was absolutely fantastic. What great work Annabelle, Mike and their team are doing. Such beautiful creatures these giants are! Thank you.
Todd, your line of questions were on point. Amazing documentary. Do you have a background in journalism? Anyways again, thank you for this heartfelt content.
I shared this Todd on my Facebook. As a US Dept. of Veterans Affairs employee with many friends of the Vietnam War, I hope this generates some funding for the project
Absolutely incredible video Todd and, if you're in touch with those hosts again, please thank them on my behalf for sharing their work with us all. It makes me more determined than ever to visit Laos before I turn my toes up (I'm 74). I just hope I get through the next few months but I'm already planning a trip. I thought I was imagining it when I heard Mike speaking, I live about 30 minutes drive from Liverpool city centre. Thank you so much for all the effort you put into this. Take care and enjoy the rest of your journey and, thanks again to you and Nee Nee for sharing your tours with us all. Stay safe! Phil.
Hey Phil.. no problem at all mate, I'm just glad I'm in a position to share this and highlight the great work that these people are foing for the future of Laos' Elephants. Hopefully we'll be able get back up there later this year, so I'll let him know mate. Thank you 🙏 Take care
Amazing work, I love what they do for the animals, and for teaching people about it. My wife and I became monthly donors today. Would love to go there some day. Salmat from Sweden/Philippines Jens & Jessa
That was brilliant. I think elephants are such beautiful gracious animals. The lady who runs the show is such a wonderful, beautiful person. It is an old saying that owners look like their pets, and I don't mean this to be rude, but the lady had large ears similar to an elephant, obviously not as big. which I thought was so beautiful.... She is a great lady. Jeff
An exceptional insight into a programme of cknservation and preservation of the declining elephant population worjdwide. Thanjs Todd for sharing this important info. Bushyboy Oz.
Cheers mate.. if only people would stop wanting to ride them and instead, go and see them how they're supposed to be.... free. Guaranteed they will get much more enjoyment from it 👌
This is a awesome share! I have always wanted to see this when I was there but always ran out of time. Such a beautiful area and awesome people protecting the refuge.
Wow. Great information from Annabelle and Mike, especially regarding ownership of elephants in Lao. I did not know that they’re considered livestock. Thank you 🙏 Ay Todd for sharing this video.
Hi Guy's Great video explaining why riding on an elephant is a very bad thing to do. They (the conservation center) deserve all the support they can get, and this presentation will help them to achieve that.
@@NowinLao Yes we are well thanks. Had a visit from one of your subscribers "Phil Styles" who is in the process of resettling near his in laws on the Nam Ngum. He will come and visit you on your return from Aus.

Mike asked if he could eat it; the Lao guy said that, yes, but you might get “drunk”; he didn’t say poisoned, so it must mean that the mushroom is hallucinogenic; must be one of those magic mushrooms 😂

Excellent tour is absolutely correct! I've missed ya brother. I hadn't seen you for awhile so I thought maybe that you'd escaped to Oz. This was amazing! Very intelligent creatures, these elephants. I really appreciate these people's approach to dealing with the ellys. Definitely a worthy cause. Now,,after watching this,,I'm wondering if there are any tiger protection programs in Lao. I think Vietnam has some tiger programs. When I was alot younger,,we had a Vietnam combat vet family friend. He'd never speak about combat,,,but he told a scary story about a tiger that stalked their platoon one night. Sadly,,they ended up having to kill it. He told that story about 25 yrs after,,,and it still made him super emotional. To me ,,knowing him from a young age and thinking of him as the toughest guy I knew,,,seeing him cry ,,the only time I saw him do that,,,over an animal was surprising. Took awhile for me to understand. One of the bigger animal protection programs in the U.S. is for the mexican red wolf,,,from Arizona to Texas. There was an Ocelots spotted in Az. A few months back,,super rare sighting,,and since about 90,,,there have been 5 or 6 Jaguar sightings in the U.S.,,in Az. and Texas,,first times in over 100 years. That to me is exciting. Thanks for this video Todd. Was super interesting. Was Neenee having troubles with her ankle? Walking in the park, I mean? You guys take care,,be safe,,,Ttyl,,,Marlon
Hey Marlon.. knew you'd like that one. Actually a lot in this trip I know you're gonna get a kick out of. Neenee's ankle is fine walking flat, but inclines like we were walking need much more flexibility than her ankle can handle at the moment... plus, it was one stinking hot day too.
