In this video I hack flappy bird using frida and modifying smali bytecode. I was able to make a god mode for flappy bird to achieve my dream score of 100, although at the cost of listening to some horrible sounds.

Good work, man! I haven't messed with android apps at all, but this definitely makes me interested in it.
    Thanks for sharing :)

There's a really good course on udemy called Android Hacking: Black Belt Edition if you are interested in learning more.

@@jackcybersecurity Oh cool, thanks! I'll check that out. What got you into cyber? I'm a computer science major at the moment, no cyber security or anything but I loveeee learning about reversing.

      @jackcybersecurity  Місяць тому

I first got interested in cyber because of a teacher when I was 15 recommending I learn more about it. I’m also a computer science major as well! Reverse Engineering is really interesting, I’m hoping one day to build a decompiler. What made you start learning reverse engineering?

    • @AngryJellyBean03

@@jackcybersecurity That's awesome man. Teachers genuinely have the ability to change people's lives.
Judging from your videos and your passion for it, I'm sure you'll make that decompiler one day man.
I guess my interest in reverse engineering started back in like 2008 when I first used an action replay on my older brother's DS. That got me really interested into making cheats for games. I started programming around when I was about 10, and I started messing with public source codes for cheats when I was like 13 or so?
My knowledge was really limited, and now that I'm in college and actually dedicated to learning about computers, it's been really interesting to see how those cheats actually work. I watched a cool playlist by Guided Hacking called "CS420". It goes over a lot about memory and stuff. Learning how programs work at a low level is just really interesting to me I guess. And being able to use that knowledge to bend the program to my will feels like solving a super satisfying jigsaw puzzle.

Some of them seem to forget they have that ability which is alarming haha. That’s also very early to get into game hacking! I’ll definitely have a look at that playlist. Plus the jigsaw comment is so true especially when it comes to reverse engineering, except there’s so many pieces that fit and you get clues in the form of strings and types.

WHY does a random video with currently 32 views use one of my video at 0:15 ?
HOW and WHY does this keep happening ?!

It's okay don't worry, you can use the video in way you want I do not care
I'm just amazed to see my small video (1K view) being found in the first place and then you had to chose said video AND THEN I had to find your video even tho it is a small video on a small channel.
like WHAT are the odds on this?! wtf ?!!!
It's not even the first time that happen, HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE ?!

    • @jackcybersecurity

That's a crazy coincidence ahah it must just rank well for certain keywords. I'm more shocked that you stumbled across mine with so few views!

Finished the video, here is some feedback :
      - At the start of the video you are speaking of your goal being getting a High Score of 100 but you didn't show it at the end of the video even tho you succeeded to hack the game the way you wanted
      - You are not using the word "Exploit" correctly, Exploit is to use a bug in the game code to achieve something that can't be done under normal condition.
In your case you didn't exploit any game bugs
Everything else is fine, you did speak about every step of the journey and didn't spend too much time on each individual step (that's great)
IRL Video quality could be better but meh it doesn't really matter that much
In the end it's a nice video, thumb up and subscribed.
Also if you are looking for other video idea in this domain maybe try to do the same but in minecraft, do a mod from scratch (using papper/fabric) to hack your way to a set goal.
it will have the same steps of Reverse Engineering (looking at the game code, understanding the innner working of the game and editing/adding code to do what you want), it's also in java, there is way to get the real names of functions so you would not have to do this part of the work and Minecraft being more popular and with more recent activity than flappy bird it could get more views.
take a look at the minecraft hacking series by LiveOverflow if you are interested.

Thanks for the feedback I did manage to get to a hundred by changing the score increase off camera to 69 so my new high score is 2400ish now haha. I’ve also just coincidentally finished watching about 6 videos of live overflows Minecraft series and found it super interesting, especially the part to do with asm java bytecode manipulation.
