It's wonderful when house buyers find their perfect home. Such a lovely, good-natured couple. I'm glad for them. Sonali Shah is one of my favorite presenters...great personality and upbeat attitude. Thanks for bringing us this great episode.
As soon as the couple said they didn't want a thatch, predictably that was the mystery choice. House 1 I thought was on a very steep plot, which wouldn't be my choice going into old age. House no 2 wasn't a lot better. The view was impaired by ugly buildings between the house and the sea, but that was their choice so a good outcome for them. The garden and views of no 3, the thatch, was by far my favourite.
200 years ago people worked long, hard hours. No need for a big room you only needed to sleep in. Closets weren't essential because clothes were less important than food and shelter.
I loved the Mysterious! Just loved-it! and how Wonderfull to hear about the Button-making tradition of Dorset! In every Episode I learn so much about the UK like interior decoration, house buying and the scenery of your beautiful Country, and this makes me very happy. Always! And most of All,the block printing moment with Blockfield! Thanks so much for presenting ETTC on UA-cam!
Wonderful episode, I had not seen it before. I googled the guy and could see he now lives in Bridport so I expected they would buy house # 2, the best one. I loved the artisan crafts - both the button making and printing.
Of the three, the second was my favourite. There was space enough to use some of the lounge as a dining room. When I make a multi-course meal, served on fine bone china, silver, and crystal, the last thing I want is people underfoot whilst cooking and looking at the accumulating mess of dirty dishes as the meal progresses. Pots, pans, snd utensils may go in the dishwasher. Royal Albert, sterling silver and antique crystal do not.
Lovely couple Diana & Johnathan, the always special presenter. I think the Diana needs to shed the high heels if she's moving to the country and I know the presenter wants to look smart & taller but her own shoes are not idea for country or seaside walking, she'll do an ankle one day... So glad to hear that the couple got to buy one of the houses...its very sad to see a great show then not know the outcome like the couple with the power station mystery house. I would love to have heard which one if any they managed to get. Thanks to ETTC its great to see the normal shows instead of those awful replica ones...
The older I get, the less I want to hear noise...road, people, dogs or other denizens of civilization. House #1 seemed nice. Easy to clean, quiet, nice views. House #2 great view, good kitchen - vile wallpaper, nice sitting room. Mystery house - bet it's a thatch - yup! Downstairs are beautiful, upstairs the ceilings are still too low.
What a lovely couple! So glad they found what they loved!

Thank you for including their choice and the outcome of their accepted offer on their first choice.
Lovely to see a nice couple getting the house they wanted.
I love the artisans you introduce us to in each episode. Thank you.
Ditto.

one of the most striking things I find regarding English homes is how SMALL the bedrooms are and the lack of closets and storage space in them.

They had 2 outfits, one for work, one for Sunday best. People have Too much crap these days
I don't know if they still do but closets were taxed as a room
.
I find the shower modules remind me of coffins.
Lovely couple. All 3 homes were lovely. Thatch didn't really have views from the windows. Glad they picked what they wanted.
Lovely couple, so glad they managed to get the house they wanted.
House number two kitchen wallpaper will need replacing !😮
Why? I like it in a Scandi inspired room.
Totally agree. However, I think she said she wouldn't change anything- but that might have been on #1. I can't remember

There's an upload glitch after 11 minutes. Other than that, good audio, visual and editing quality.
Very happy for the couple.
Wonderful

Oh, good!! 😂
Why show them houses outside their price range?
Because there is often a deal to be done. The show people talk to the vendors to ascertain whether an offer in budget is likely to result in a sale.
