Desaru Coast 2023 | Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas

Sharing with you our 3D/2N stay at Anantara Desaru Coast Resort and Villas. This resort is located at Desaru Coast, Johor Malaysia. To get there, you can hire a private car or travel via ferry or bus. Let me share with you some details of our trip.
Transportation:

Ferry going to Desaru Coast operates once every Thursdays to Mondays only that takes about 90 minutes journey. Schedule as follows:
Tanah Merah (Singapore) to Desaru Coast (Malaysia) : departs at 8:45 AM
Desaru Coast (Malaysia) to Tanah Merah (Singapore) : departs at 5:30 PM
Once you arrived at Desaru Coast, there will be a free shuttle that brings guests to different resorts within Desaru Coast. From the ferry terminal to Anantara Desaru, it will only take approx. 10 minutes.
Then from Desaru Coast going back to Singapore, since it was on a Tuesday, we emailed our hotel in advance to help us book a private taxi/vehicle going to Johor Bahru since getting a grab car there can be quite difficult. Drop off point: Johor Bahru City Square
Accommodation:
There are lot of hotels in Desaru Coast but we chose to stay at Anantara Desaru Coast Resort. You can book directly at www.anantara.c...
We booked the Premier Room which is located at the first floor of the main building. The room is very spacious with large balcony and it has a decent sea view already. They have several type of rooms and villas. You can check here: www.anantara.c...
They also have 2 pools here including the beachfront infinity pool. You can also enjoy the beachfront since it is a private property.
Food and Beverage:
The have several dining options here.
Breakfast buffet is located at Turmeric Restaurant. We also had lunch here on our first day. They offer Malaysian and Thai food.
On our 2nd night, we had dinner at Sea.Fire.Salt. Prior to our vacation, I emailed them for an advance reservation since based on my research they are fully booked most of the time.
You can enjoy cocktails and snacks on their Infinity Bar, Lagoon Bar and Observatory Bar.
In Room dining and Grabfood option are available too.
Leisure/ Spa & Wellness
For leisure, they will hand out a list of their activities during your stay. Some are nature walk, birdwatching, cycling (usage of bicycles are free) etc. You can check some details here: www.anantara.c...
For Spa & Wellness, we chose the Anantara Signature Massage (90 minutes). They will allow you to choose the massage oil of your choice and the background music as well. How cool is that? You can check the list here: www.anantara.c... Tip: reserve a slot in advance.
It was a well-deserved R&R for the hubby. Would we recommend Anantara Desaru Coast Resort? Definitely YES. Would we come back? Ofcourse, yes (money please?). Based on our experience in terms of food, they can actually improve on this area, it is okay but not that impressive. Well, there’s always a room for improvement. Right? Staffs here are very accommodating. The resort itself is awesome. If you need to chill and relax, this place is def for you. 'til next time, Anantara Desaru Coast Resort. 🫶🏻
