    As an Autistic person i should note that most of the issues from being autistic (at least from the lower scale of spectrum) is mostly the people not understanding you, really. I mean, i'm way more confidant and forgiving on myself after finding out i'm autistic. And ADHD too, though those two often come as a package deal.

      Yeah I can see that, it definitely helps that more people are starting to learn about it today. It wasn't that long ago that people straight up didn't hear of it until they ran into someone with it

      @@DairuTV Bro let me tell you. There was a time I was camping and it was dark out so I had the flashlight on me. I needed to grab something off a table so I let go of the flashlight (It had a little wrist strap). After I grabbed what I needed to I'm like. "Where'd the flashlight go, I swear I just set it down. Must have gotten knocked off the table" So what do I do, but USE THE DAMN FLASHLIGHT ON MY WRIST to look around on the ground where the damn flashlight went. It definitely took me a couple of minutes to realize what I was actually doing. At least I gave myself a good laugh.

      LAST NIGHT literally stared at the closed bathroom door that I _swore_ was open a second ago and when I was _just_ thinking about closing it. then I remembered I did the whole walk-around-in-circles-maladaptive-day-dreaming-thing and it clicked that I probably closed it along the way. But!! I, for the life of me, cannot fucking remember doing so.
      There was no one else there but me. It could've literally only been me. But it would actually bring me comfort if you told me there was a demon who closed it after all. Because why the hell can't I remember closing it still.
      And! I also lost y hair tie _that was literally on my wrist._ Spent a good 30 minutes walking throughout the whole house retracing my steps then giving up in frustration.
      Memory deficiency is so infuriating.

    9:05 It has a heavy genetic influence, dunno the exact numbers but its fairly common for the parent or sibling of somebody diagnosed to also end up getting diagnosed - and its also how some people only find out late because the symptoms are "normal" - their frame of reference being equally ADHD parents or so. (Not to mention how girls tend to mask more strongly and show it as daydreaming instead of hyperness - thats how I got my diagnosis in my 20s even though Im a textbook case according to my psych, Im just not outwardly hyperactive).
    I am the only family member officially diagnosed but I bet my ass my mom was ADHD and my brother is too. Less sure about my father but hyperfixating on a topic and coffeine addiction were things he did as well.

    Ay man, I know you didn't do this on purpose to be harmful and stuff but you kinda talk about autism like it's an illness and also there is no such thing as "a little autistic", you're either autistic or not, there are differences between autistic people, some struggle a lot and others can function more by themselves but they're all autistic, it's why it's called Autistic *Spectrum*.
    As an autistic person, I see the downsides more than any neurotypical person would but I also don't like seeing autism as one bad thing. It does make me struggle a lot but for the part it's more cuz the world we live in was made By neurotypical For neurotypical people, so a lot of times isn't adapted to the needs of neurodivergent people and Autism is often seen as something bad, terrible, the end of the world, so when someone Autistic interacts with it they're mocked or seen as incapable.
    Autistic people just work differently, it's not necessarily bad or good, it's just, Autism.
    I hope this doesn't read as me trying to scold a random person on the internet cuz it really wasn't my intention for it to seem that way, I just find it important to educate people about this sort of stuff.
    All that aside, video was nice!

    • @DairuTV
      @DairuTV  Місяць тому

      Well the thing is autism has a lot more negative things that come with it than positive, it's not just a thing, people with autism would benefit greatly from not having it. So I wasn't really speaking from a place of ignorance here, on the contrary I was paraphrasing statements directly from the youtuber with autism I referred to, who has had it all his life and who I've spoken to personally. So nah I can't agree with you on that one. It's a negative illness that people would rather not have. Doesn't make you any less of a person, but it IS indeed a negative mental illness. I'm more educated on this than you'd think, just understand that a pause during a reaction video isn't necessarily the place for deeply thought out opinions, so that's the reason I keep it brief. ALSO, being a little autistic is in reference to the way you act, not the amount of the disease. I'd have thought you would know that. I've seen autistic people who have it written all over them. And I've seen autistic people who you'd never even know they were unless they told you. So I stand on my "a little autistic" statement as well.

    • @Tahdeedia
      @Tahdeedia Місяць тому +3

      @@DairuTV I understand your point but I have to say again, autism isn't a disease or an illness, that's not just something I say randomly, I say it because it's a fact.
      And trust me, I know a lot about the negatives of being autistic, I am autistic and most of my close friends are also autistic. I know how it's like to have the sensory issues, social problems, etc etc.
      I also can see where autistic people who wish they weren't autistic are coming from and a lot of the time it's not just because of the symptoms, it's cuz of how they are treated by others.
      Autism isn't a negative on itself, it comes with negatives but it also comes with positives.
      Autistic people simply see, act and react differently to the world cuz that's how our brain is.
      It can differ from person to person but I would change this aspect of myself cuz it isn't just an aspect, it's me as whole, my brain works differently from what would be considered "normal"(aka neurotypical) but it doesn't mean it's bad.
      My biggest problem with being autistic isn't even being autistic in itself, it's how the world treats me and other autistic(even other neurodivergent people in general) people because of it.

      @@Tahdeedia sure disorder is more accurate, but again in normal conversation in the English language people aren't always dictionary accurate with the words we use. But you know what we mean. I understand you may not like it, but you don't get to tell people how to say things. In the long run its not even actually that important (at least not to them). As far as how others treat you I cant control that. I'm only one person in the end. Long story short, I know what autism is man lol you don't need to educate me on it.

    • @Tahdeedia
      @Tahdeedia Місяць тому +3

      @@DairuTV I know that i don't get to dictate how others talk but using "illness" to describe autism is just straight up incorrect, that's what I'm trying to tell you.
      Also, I'm not blaming you for how I'm treated, I'm just saying that autistic people are more harmed when being treated like shit than by being autistic.
      But eh, yeah, you're right, this discussion is meaningless anyway with the way it's going. Just please take some of my words into consideration when speaking about this topic.
      Sorry for bothering you and have a nice day.

      @DairuTV  Місяць тому

      @@Tahdeedia what you arent getting as that we dont disagree on the basic premise of treating people properly regardless of what they have going on. Why are you acting like I don't get that? My point is that using the wrong word when referring to autism is not the same as treating you guys wrong. Sure it's improper. So? It's not that serious man. I literally already said I don't treat or look at people differently because of disabilities. I'm just letting you know that in the future, if someone uses the wrong word, you're better off not letting it bother u as opposed to trying to correct somebody. It's not needed. And you aren't bothering me. Just know that just because what you're saying isn't technically incorrect, doesn't mean I'm going to back down from how I feel about it. And most people aren't going to ve near as nice as me when they say it.

      To each their own. Most of the autistic people I've met feel like they'd be better off without it. The positives that do come from it aren't things you NEEDED autism for. Its not just a mental thing, autism can come with negative phsical effects as well, and i dont think its debatable that NOBODY benefits from that. I've learned to control my ADHD but I'm also able to recognize id probably be far more productive without it. I wouldn't mind if it went away, but ik it doesn't work like that. And I'm not taking medicine for it ever again, so there's that.
